I would thoroughly recommend India excursions to anyone wanting a well-organised, hassle-free holiday with every thought already considered.

Using Indian Excursions was the best decision we could have made. Everyone was friendly, went out of their way to be helpful, were unbelievably knowledgeable, answers questions without hesitation. Dealing with them from start to finish was flawless!!!!
While in India, they checked on us daily, every new city we entered, there was a representative to make sure that everything was smooth!

We booked a tour with Indian Excursions to Rajasthan in January 2019.
The plannng was handled by Madeline in Delhi and you could not have asked for better service . At every turn Madeline was efficient and responded quickly to all communications.
Once in India everything went like clock work with all staff including guides and drivers providing caring , respectful and helpful service .
Added to this the hotels were of an excellent standard .
We felt Indian Excursions price was excellent and a bargain compared to some UK and Australian based companies .

Without question, this was the best, most organised holiday we have been on. Madeleine, Shiv and their associates at Indian Excursions made an incredible and chaotic country an absolute joy to visit. We were met at Delhi airport, escorted to our first hotel and assisted every step of the way until our last goodbye at Udaipur airport. The hotels were magnificent, local guides excellent and the itinerary simply superb. Highlights of course were the Taj Mahal at Agra, tiger safari at Ranthambore (and yes we saw one!), elephants and the palace accommodation in Jaipur, and a spectacular Stepwell dinner in Narlai (do not miss this).

As first time travelers to India who would be traveling as a small group of 2 women, it was very important that the trip was planned properly and that we would be safe. A Google search revealed that Indian Excursions came highly recommended by so many others who had been taken care of by them and I jumped into making an enquiry about a possibly trip to India. Right from the get-go Madeleine provided great support and designed a wonderful itinerary for us; unfortunately we were unable to make the trip that year - that was in 2016. I wrote to them again in 2018 to see about the possibility of having a trip planned and I am so grateful that they were open to taking us on again even though the previous plan didn’t work out. Once again Madeleine prepared a wonderful itinerary for us, taking into consideration our concerns and the main things we were interested in. Upon arrival in Delhi, Shiv took care of us and was accessible throughout our trip even as we moved from city to city. I believe we had the best guides as each tour was informative, educational and inspiring. We truly had a magical time visiting India with Indian Excursions. You know you’re having a great trip when you are already planning your return before your trip is even over! We are looking forward to exploring other cities in Rajasthan in the near future and wouldn’t think twice about having Indian Excursions look after us again. Thanks again Madeleine and Shiv and their team for doing an excellent job looking after us throughout the entire trip.

Our general tour experience was wonderful. There are only a couple of smaller details I would suggest changing:
1) I would manage expectations with regard to the stay in Agra. The service in the hotel was delightful, but the hotel itself is a bit of a shock after The Imperial. I would also emphasis the frequently poor visibility of the Taj Mahal at the time of year we travelled (early Jan). People could make an more informed decision as to whether or not it's worth spending a night here or not; or perhaps make the offer of a different hotel, (a more elegant hotel with out the Taj view if preferred). We couldn't see the Taj because of this mist anyway.
2) Although he was obviously very knowledgeable, we found the guide in Delhi's accent very difficult to understand and we frequently gave up asking questions rather than be rude.
3) The guides in Agra and Jaipur were excellent. The only issue was the "non-pushy, but inevitably-pushy sales trips". We did not express any desire to shop and actually specifically said we did not want to shop. Still, we were politely pressured to do so. The sales people in the inlay marble shop, the cotton print-carpet shop and jewel shop were all very polite, but ofcourse, they did their best sell as sales people do.
We are not agressive or impolite, so this did detract from Agra and Jaipur. We lost an amount of time we would've preferred to spend either relaxing or having a non-shopping based experience.
4) The people of India on the streets, in hotels and on your staff were all absolutely lovely. The food was delicious and service confident and friendly. The only negative food experience was the restaurant recommended to us in Agra. "A Pinch of Spice", was by far the least enjoyable meal and the service was almost rude.
5) Our driver, Mr Prem was very professional and kind and conversed just the right amount for us.
6) It's worth pointing out to people that one of the benefits of driving between Delhi and Jaipur is how pretty the landscape is. Green and yellow flowering fields for miles. Pre-harvest was just beautiful. It might be an idea to make a detour off the highway into a rural farming area rather than spending an afternoon in Agra. Just give Agra enough time for the fort and Taj Mahal.

Amazing from start to finish. Madeleine put together a fabulous trip for us. Every detail was thought through impeccably. The guides had great knowledge and enthusiasm. Our driver was friendly and really looked after us. Will be recommending to all our family and friends who visit India.

We were extremely happy with our RaJathan trip (11 days) with Indian Excursion, Tour designer - Madeleine and Tour operator - Mr.Shiv are highly professional and they assures the quality of accommodation.
Our driver (Madan) was with us for the entire trip and was fantastic, his attitude was so positive and inclisive. The guides arranged in each locations were superb, we learn't so much from them. Hotels were amazing beautiful , clean, safe and excellent.

We booked a ten day tour of Delhi/Agra & Rajasthan for ourselves and our 15yo daughter over New Year. From the moment we first contacted Indian Excursions, Madeleine responded promptly to every inquiry, made very helpful recommendations and put together an itinerary tailored to our requirements. Madan, the driver we had throughout the tour, was excellent - he spoke good English & knew all the areas we were visiting very well. In addition we had local guides in Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Chand Baori, Jaipur & Udaipur. All were well informed & entertaining. I had had some concerns about booking with a firm I’d found online but in the end had no regrets at all about choosing them - we felt very well looked after & it was great to have local support in case of any issues. Were we to visit Northern India again I would have no hesitation in going through Indian Excursions & have already recommended them to friends & family.

We recently returned from a week long trip to Rajasthan and it was excellently designed and flawlessly executed. The accommodations, guides, greeters, vehicle and the facilities were all above and beyond expectations. Let me just say, they pulled out all the stops. Certainly going with Indian Excursions Co in the future and I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants a great experience.

Excellent experience from the planning phase all the way to the actual trip. Madeleine was great in planning our trip for us. She is very knowledgeable. She provided us with recommendations but still listen to our requests.

Shiv handled the trip operations and he did a great job handling everything. He organised everything and made sure everything was done in perfection.

Our driver, Prem, was awesome. Google map has nothing on him. All the guides and local reps were great too!

I had a superlative experience with this company from the initial planning stages to each step of the itinerary and including the follow up at journey’s end. My expectations were exceeded in every way. Madeleine, Shiv, Sanjay my driver, the various tour guides and other city representatives all provided exemplary service, customized to my unique requirements and preferences; a true bespoke vacation at a very reasonable price. A huge thank you to Maddie, Shiv and all the team at Indian Excursions who made our emotional trip to Gujarat, Udaipur and Narlai as pain free as possible. From the beginning Maddie had provided a very exciting itinerary for us once we provided our dates of travel. This allowed us important time with existing family in Gujarat before turning our attention to visiting Udaipur and Narlai (on Maddie's recommendation which was amazing!). For the short time we had in India the planned itinerary was perfect, providing us with daily tours combined with downtime (which is very much required in India).

It is fair to say that India being India things will not always go to plan but when you book with Indian Excursions you can always count on the team to do everything they can to resolve issues for you and this is invaluable. On arrival they provide you with a phone which is very convenient, our driver was the same throughout which means that you can build a good relationship together. Having a private car means you can travel in comfort, essential for India in my opinion with the long car journeys involved.

We will definitely use the team at Indian Excursions again when we travel to India, the knowledge they have really makes all the difference as India is not a destination to be taken lightly, you really need to get it right.

We had a great time and Indian Excursions was an excellent choice for travelling in India!!!

Indian Excursions filled the void for us when GateOne cancelled a planned signature tour of India with only two months notice. Maddie was able to pull together an itinerary that matched our start and end dates - since we had already purchased our air tickets and India visas - and the Oberoi hotels. The itinerary was enhanced by the substitution of two nights in Ranthambhore (for the tiger reserve) for nights in Delhi in Mumbai, and the price was reduced!

My wife and I are delighted with all aspects of the tour, and that we had such a personalized tour, with guide and driver, rather than a group tour with a bus. In many locations the roads are very congested and the smaller the vehicle the more flexible you can be, and the faster you can get around. Having a dedicated driver and guide meant that we could set our own timetable, returning to our hotel if tired or stopping only when we needed to when on the road. Our desired pace was quite leisurely and this enabled us to enjoy a comfortable breakfast and the many other amenities of the beautiful Oberoi hotels. The two internal flights were also timed very conveniently.

Our drivers and guides were without exception personable, informative and good communicators. They enhanced our trip immeasurably. We felt totally safe at all times. The provided local telephone was a great safety net should we have ever needed to call for assistance.

For anyone contemplating a trip to India, I would recommend Indian Excursions. The attention to detail was faultless. Although not inexpensive, the Oberoi hotels provide a level of comfort, amenity and service that will enhance your vacation experience. They are quite beautiful properties (e.g. in Agra with a view of the Taj Mahal from the hotel room).

We have come away with no regrets, a lot of photos and some wonderful memories of our trip to India. Our thanks to Maddie and to Shiv, who met us on our arrival to India.

Although we've comfortably travelled in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, my friends had warned me about increased risk and chaos associated with India, so it was with trepidation that I shortlisted Rajasthan for our annual vacation. Our family of five ( youngest child aged 7y) has just returned from a truly wonderful first experience of India organised by Indian Excursions. I really appreciate the attention to detail by Madeleine in our multiple correspondence for pre-trip planning to design an itinerary to our specific interests. There was excellent ground support by Shiv and the local agents, guides and our driver. Definitely try ziplining in Jodhpur and the recommended Jaisalmer desert experience!

Indian Excursions did an amazing job of arranging my parent's trip to celebrate their anniversary. It should be everyone's top choice for touring Rajasthan.
