We had the most amazing holiday with Indian Excursions and can recommend them wholeheartedly. From our initial contact, we were impressed with the friendliness and professionalism shown by Madeleine. We eventually set and paid for an itinerary but at a later date, I decided that Delhi wasn’t for me and Madeleine happily replanned the entire holiday to ensure that we got exactly what we wanted.
We visited Shimla, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Udaipur, Jaipur and Agra - all of which were amazing in their different ways. En route between Udaipur and Jaipur we were offered the choice of flying or staying in the countryside at a place called Dev Shree. This is such a wonderful place - as well as the place itself, the hospitality, food and excursions were incredible so this was one of the absolute highlights.
The planning of the holiday and its seamless execution, from being met at the airport to waved off there at the end, meant that we had no problems whatsoever. India can be a difficult place in many ways and we could not possibly have enjoyed it without the Indian Excursions team. The hotels chosen were incredible (and we were upgraded in several of them!) plus the guides were all very knowledgeable and we felt safe with our drivers, especially Prem who was great.
My husband chose this holiday and I freely admit to being reluctant to go, but our only regret is not making the holiday longer and staying for three nights in each location.

Maddie and Shiv were terrific tour designers and hosts and we had a great experience -- both planning the trip with them and then actually living the magic of our Rajasthan adventure. Because we are seasoned travelers we discovered we didn't need quite as much guiding or hand-holding as many clients no doubt prefer, so we communicated that to Maddie and Shiv and they instantly made adjustments to fine-tune our experience. Bottomline -- great people to work with and a trip that was absolutely unforgettable!

My experience with Indian Excursions has been exceptional from the first online enquiry and the planning of our individual itinerary, to the support on the ground, providing a fabulous driver and guides, not to mention the amazing hotels we stayed in. I felt Madeleine was able to provide my friend and I an itinerary that really suited us with some great suggestions for sightseeing, and hotels. Madeleine listened to our requirements and even suggested a couple of extra experiences, partaking in the Holi Festival and visiting the elephant sanctuary, and what a treat they were! As two females travelling together, I felt totally looked after from the moment I landed at the airport to tour's end. It was comforting to know that Shiv was only a phone call away should we have needed him and he kept in touch to ensure everything was going well. My favourite hotel was the Samode Haveli in Jaipur, what a place, but closely followed by the Samode Palace! Exceptional accommodation, beyond my expectations. Our driver, Madan, was always happy and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, even when I had to get into the car covered in colour from the Holi Festival. My spouse and me contacted Indian Excursion Co for planning our travel itinerary and Madeleine promptly replied with lot of options. We asked, varoius times, for many combinations with range of options and she patiently and elaborately replied to all of our queries.

When we reched India, till end of our tour, we had lot of fun. We didn’t have to worry about anything, everything was organized as told. Our tour guides were excellent, they were knowledgeable and spoke good english. And the driver Mr. Prem was excellent. He had lot of fun stories to tell.

Would I choose them again? Absolutely! I have already recommended them to some of my friends.

From start to finish Madeleine has been unfailingly patient and helpful and has listened and taken on board our wish list. We wanted our Indian experience to be more about people than buildings and with her knowledge and advice we were able to put together a trip that would combine the essentials in terms of sightseeing, together with fabulous experiences which helped us to get a small insight into what it’s like to live in India.
We were met on arrival by Madeleine’s business partner Shiv who was always on hand to check we were ok and help with any tweaks we had to our itinerary on route.
In our month away, with 12 different stops and seven internal flights there was not one hitch. Our reps, drivers and guides were always waiting to pick us up and we felt like we hand our hands held the whole trip. Particular thanks to our driver Madan who was with us for the first two weeks and who was a pleasure to be with.
From the people we spoke to while we were away it seems that most people were happy with their tour companies, but we felt that using an Indian based company gave Indian Excursions the edge with their insider knowledge and little extra touches like the loan of a free phone for the whole time so we could always be in touch if we needed.

The experience we had with Indian Excursions was very good. We did an eight-day golden triangle tour in March 2019. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly, polite, and courteous. This was our first tour (of this type in any country) and this absolutely met our expectations. I would highly recommend Indian Excursions.

We were able to arrange a personalized tour that suited our requirements. The accommodation arranged by Madeleine was excellent and in hotels that are world standard. Madeleine was very responsive to emails and requests and, at all times, helpful. The tour experience itself, which involved the Golden Triangle, exceeded expectations. Company representatives were there to meet us at every hotel. Tour Guides were fantastic. And, our driver, Madan, was the best. He ensured our safety and was also very knowledgeable. Shiv, who managed the on-ground tour experience, wanted to ensure that our tour met our expectations - and he delivered. He was there to meet us at the airport in Delhi. He bid us farewell for the trip of the Golden Triangle and he was there to greet us when we returned and farewelled us at the airport for our homeward journey. We’ve just got home after three and a half weeks touring Rajasthan and the last six nights on the beach in North Goa! Everything worked like clockwork thanks to Maddie and Shiv’s organisational skills - we couldn’t have asked for better! The hotels were out of this world, Mr Singh and his immaculate vehicle, the guides we had in different locations nothing was too much trouble. This was our third visit to India and last years travel agent was a total disaster! So this year it was lovely to relax and enjoy each day! Shiv kept in touch every few days which was very reassuring we almost learned how to use his phone by the end of the trip!!!! So thank you once again Maddie and Shiv, if we come to India again we wouldn’t dream of using anyone but Indian Excursions! It was a pleasure travelling with you - thank you!

We were two couples, really good friends, who travelled together on our taylor- made trip organised by Maddie. Everything went exactly as planned. We did a 7 days golden triangle tour of India in February.
Indian Excursion Co. seem to have perfected how to provide trustworthy, seamless and hassle-free service in India’s (sometimes chaotic) environment. Right from the first visit to their website to the time we returned home, we couldn’t find a single fault even if we tried. Rather, we were blown away by the professionalism and care shown by everyone involved at each stage.
Madeleine was very efficient at organising the itinerary keeping in mind our interests as well as other reservations. The final itinerary was thorough yet flexible.
Shiv met us on arrival and kept in touch throughout our holiday to ensure we were well looked after. We couldn’t have asked for a better driver than Sanjay who was always cool and in control even in maddening Agra and Delhi traffic.

From the time I reached out to Madeline to plan our 7-night luxury vacation, until we were left at the airport by Shiv and our amazing driver Sanjay, to catch our flight back home - everything was executed perfectly. Our entire trip was seamless from start to finish, and when we got a little sick from something we ate (totally our fault), Shiv was quick to respond and change our last days' itinerary. Everyone on the Indian Excursions Co team were helpful and professional. The level of service, the quality of the vehicle, the recommended hotels and itinerary throughout were excellent - we have no complaints! I would recommend Indian Excursions to anyone planning a trip to Rajasthan. Their team was incredibly responsive during the planning process, helping us tailor our trip to our preferences and budget. When it finally came time for our 12 day trip, everything went smoothly and we had the trip of a lifetime! A special shoutout to our driver Keshav, who was with us during the entire trip, safely navigating us through hectic India traffic and backroads and pointing out sights along the way!

My partner and I chose to go on a tailored made trip put together for us by Indian Excursions in October 2018. We had very limited time in India and there were certain things we really wanted to see, including the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Indian Excursions put together a fantastic tour with 5* hotels. The entire tour ran smoothly and was absolutely brilliant!

We were really struggling to decide what tour company to go with, but we thought we would take a chance on this company as having corresponded with Madeleine (from Indian Excursions) the customer service was fantastic and every question we had or concern was answered.

Our driver for the trip, Sanjay, was great and when we return to India we will request for him again! The tour guides at every destination we saw were exceptional. They had an immense amount of knowledge and made these tours even better.

We hope to return to India soon and when we do so we will build another tour with Indian Excursions. This company may not be the first to appear in a search engine, but I can honestly say that this company will not disappoint, they will always do there best to meet your needs from the tours to the hotels. We are extremely happy that we chose this company and would recommend to anyone travelling to India looking for a private tour.

A truly exceptional touring company.

We asked IE to arrange a tour for us around the Golden Triangle during January 2019. It was our first visit to India. It was an all-round excellent experience and I would not hesitate to recommend IE.

Planning: Madeleine was highly responsive and flexible and proposed an itinerary which was exactly what we wanted. Pricing was very competitive compared to similar UK based operations.

Hotels: all round very good and checking in was a breeze with the IE local agent there to supervise on each occasion. The Imperial in Delhi was a particular highlight, despite my wife being very ill one night after eating there.

Guides: all 3 (Agra, Jaipur and Delhi) very personable and well informed. The guide in Agra was particularly good at using his local knowledge to ensure we were on the “inside track”. Just occasionally we felt that the timing and order of the day’s events were altered to pursue objectives which were a guide’s rather than ours but it was no big deal. We gradually came to accept that that we were, in the eyes of those active in the local economy, a revenue opportunity but we never felt too much pressure to spend more than we wanted and IE’s pre-trip advice was helpful in this.

Driver: the star of the show; the only member of the team with our lives in his hands. He was totally reliable and a very steady driver as well as being personable and amusing.

Management: we saw Shiv at the start and end of the tour and he was highly responsive when we did need him – when my wife was ill. It was good to know he was there.

My wife and I just returned from a 28 day trip to India, all organized and provided by Maddie, Shiv and Indian Excursions. We cannot even begin to adequately express how impressed we were with all aspects of our tour. From the first email contact with Maddie, through all the planning stages, to the initial contact with Shiv and our driver Sanjay (an excellent driver and most agreeable chap) in Delhi when we first arrived in India, to the final wave goodbye from our guide in our departure city as we left Kerala, everything was conducted and arranged in a most excellent manner.

Both Maddie and Shiv are 150% committed to making sure their product is the best available on the market, with amazing attention to detail. Countless times, it was clearly apparent that Shiv (who is in charge of operations within India) was checking on our progress and making sure all was going well.

We are seasoned travelers and can say without any reservation that Maddie and Shiv run a first class operation and provide a travel experience second to none. We highly recommend their services to anybody seeking a safe, comfortable, enjoyable and thoroughly memorable trip to India
