Madeleine and Shiv really made our trip one to remember. Everything was well organised. The guides and drivers they got us were top notch. We were truly pampered. The suggested itinerary was simply perfect. I look forward to going back to India.

The trip was wonderful and the organisation superb. The drivers and guides were always on time and did a fantastic job. We had the same driver for most of time and so had the opportunity to get to know him. He had a great sense of humour and managed to thread his way through the traffic with the utmost skill. Also he looked after our every need. We particularly enjoyed the visit to Rathambhore as it gave us the opportunity to get close to tigers and get some excellent photos. Our guide there was excellent and was the first to spot the tigers so that we had the best view. The Oberoi hotels were stunning. We have never had such luxury. Overall, the trip of a lifetime.

We have just experienced an incredible week visiting India’s Golden Triangle, expertly planned and organised by Maddie, Shiv and their team at Indian Excursions. I highly recommend this company.

Our group of 4 friends (2 couples) wanted to celebrate a 60th birthday taking in the main sights of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur whilst enjoying quality, relaxing time together. We had made enquiries with a couple of major international travel agents but during a search on the internet for suggested itineries and additional information, I came across Indian Excursions professional and informative website. I was so impressed I immediately sent an online enquiry to them with basic details of our thoughts. I promptly received a response from Maddie with an almost ideal itinerary. A quick email exchange and we had our perfect itinerary. She seemed to grasp exactly what we were looking for. We felt so confident that before the other companies had even finalised their itineraries, let alone a price, we had paid our deposits to Indian Excursions.

The speed of communication from Maddie and the quality and relevance of information she supplied was great. Her hints and tips on what to expect in India, driving, etiquette, tipping and what to bring really prepared us.

Our first contact in Delhi airport was Shiv who was waiting to meet us exactly as arranged. He escorted us to our first hotel in Delhi, checking all was well. When we returned to Delhi 5 days later he was once again there to greet us. And when we departed on day 8, he saw us right up to the airport terminal door. In between he was only ever a phone call away on the mobile phone we were provided with for the duration of our stay. A great feeling, although rarely needed as everything ran like clockwork.

Raj, our driver for the whole trip, drove us safely between the 4 hotels, without using Sat Nav, a map or asking directions. He was always on time, smiling and with a new supply of cold drinking water. He dropped us with our guides as close to the entrances as was possible at all the sights during our sightseeing days. He also miraculously appeared to pick us up at the end of each monument. All our drives were relaxing, comfortable and safe in our mini-coach, our luggage secure in the back. Should any of us need the toilet (inevitable on a 5 hour drive between cities) he would take us to a well maintained, western style facility. The thought of the long drives between the locations was initially of concern, but they turned out to be really pleasant and relaxing with lots to see - a feast for the eyes.

Our 3 guides, one in each location, were all different personalities but knowledgeable and charming men. We stuck to our planned itinerary of seeing only the main sights as we also wanted to enjoy time relaxing at our hotels, but they would have all happily continued all day, proudly taking us to other sights and monuments.

We stayed in outstanding Oberoi hotels throughout our 7 night holiday (4 in total) The suggestion from Maddie to stay with the Oberoi group all week was definitely the right decision for us. We were able to enjoy their amazing facilities and totally relax, pure luxury. The birthday day consisted of a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal and in the evening a private poolside fine dining dinner at the fabulous Oberoi Amarvilas, all pre organised by Maddie.

This was definitely a holiday of a lifetime that incorporated the perfect mix of culture, sightseeing, relaxation and quality time with friends.

My recommendation is look at Indian Excursions website, make an enquiry and book your trip with Maddie and Shiv. You will be in safe hands!

Having decided that we wanted to visit the Taj Mahal on our fiftieth anniversary we looked for a travel company to organise the holiday. Having seen good reviews we contacted Indian Excursions and let them know what we would like to see and do.
From that moment on we knew we were in expert hands as Madeleine organised everything around our requirements.
Shiv met us at the airport on arrival and escorted us back when we left. In between Sanjay drove us around making us completely at ease in the Indian traffic and then there were the expert guides who escorted us at all the sites we visted.
Somehow every hotel knew it was our anniversary holiday and went out of their way to make our stay special!
This had to be one of the best holidays we have ever had. When we left there were only 2 things on our list we hadn't seen. The first was a tiger at Ranthambore but, living in Africa, we know nature is unpredictable. The second was Maddie herself who we would have loved to thank personaly but, from our experience and that of others, we know she has a tremendous amount to do behind the scenes organising such amazing holidays.

India is not an easy place to travel but what we got from the team was beyond expectations to the point that after 2.5 weeks not a single thing went wrong nor were there any challenges - in fact the surprises we got were all GREAT and got better as the trip progressed. Honestly we just had the best holiday. We began by feeling a bit shamefaced at spending so much money travelling in India but we have come home believing our trip to have been excellent value for all that we saw and experienced. We learnt so much, saw such beauty , felt so indulged and had all our needs cared for. We have already made recommendations to friends and family who have been so impressed by our photographs. Thank you to all; the organisation was seamless & all our guides were good value. We loved being looked after by our driver Madan, and particularly enjoyed the informative support of Yusuf in Agra.

As we only had two weeks to experience such a vast country, India Excursions were the perfect company to organise our trip in advance, with our own suggestions (even of hotels) and preferences. Madeleine was so helpful, and I am confident that she and her staff could deal with just about anything, should any problems arise.

If you only have a short amount of time in India, this is the way to go!

We did a 3 week tour of Rajasthan with Indian Excursions. It all worked perfectly and we felt totally cared for the entire time. The itinerary was worked out with Indian Excursions who understood and included the experiences we wanted. The itinerary was very well paced and included special places we might otherwise have not known or thought about. The hotels were perfect and we felt that we had good rooms because of the connection with Indian Excursions.
I would definitely use the company again and thought it was excellent value for a wonderful holiday that will be hard to beat.

We had a tailor made 7 night tour covering Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.

Let me say first off that the whole experience was absolutely fabulous and I would recommend anybody wanting to see the highlights of the India triangle, in luxury that this is the tour for you.

Nothing was too much trouble for Madeline and the team in tailor making our trip adding subtle touches and offering suggestions. On Madeline's advise we choose to remain with the Oberoi chain throughout our stay, this turned out to be a great choice as each hotel was happy to pack you out for our journeys across land to their next hotels, I’ve done separate more detailed reviews on the hotels so won’t repeat here, but all were fantastic. We also built meals into our package as with a five year old little guy mealtimes have to be a quick turnaround affair. We had the same driver Serjay from start to finish and he was great, our tours in Delhi were marvelous, would recommend fitting in the Gandhi museum if you can and we also enjoyed the rickshaw ride but the biggest highlight was entering the kitchen in the Sikh temple which serves 5000+ meals a day.

In Agra the Taj Mahal was stunning but get there early to avoid the crowds, as was the Agra fort, we elected to take the afternoon off and skip the rest of the afternoon/evening tours. We also renewed our wedding vows in a traditional Hindu ceremony, dressed up and all.

Jaipur was probably our favorite tours with the chand steps en-route, packing in the city palace, the amber fort and I’d say our highlight the dera elephant experience.

The India excursions cars and drivers are superb, comfy, AC and WiFi and safe (for India) driving.

We are very seasoned travelers and have normally organised our own hotels, excursions, specific trips etc some on a lengthy and complicated basis, we choose to do this trip as an organised tour as simply ran out of time to organise and felt we wanted to have some continuity and familiar faces around. India excursions organise a location based representative to assist you checking in and out of the hotels.

OK and here’s the differentiation, we had some hiccups.. but the difference between a great company and a mediocre company is whether they sort out the issues.... and that’s what Indian excursions do, they sort out the issues so that you can move on and enjoy your holiday and that’s what makes a great company and Indian excursions are that company, they care, they endeavor to persevere and they make things right and that’s the essence of their DNA and why it’s completely the only way to tour India.

We had a very lovely trip and felt very looked after. Attention to detail was exceptional and the services provided were very thoughtful and personalised. Our driver Sanjay was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had no problems during the trip and the tour guides were all very good. I would recommend this company to anyone!
