Delightful very well equipped cottage with a nice garden area and within a few minutes walk of Helmsley Centre, fully recommended and would definitely stay again

It’s a lovely place and near everything very cosy and homely had every thing you could need compfy beds nice bathroom cozy lounge can’t fault it would stay again

We stayed at a cottage in North Yorkshire booked through Host and Stay. Charlie was exceptionally helpful answering my dotty questions promptly. I think we are both early birds as I was getting replies well before 9:00am. Nothing was too much trouble, including my plea for help to locate the iron! Information was clear and timely. My only suggestion would be to be able to search the site by number of dogs allowed. Finding somewhere that will take my 4 canine friends can be tricky.

Great Host Highly Recommended

The accommodation is great, good location, quiet at night, perfectly clean, spacious, good facilities and a private parking space if you need it. The only reason I could not give 5 stars is the shower. It is difficult to operate without getting a blast of water at the wrong temperature, the shower is powerful and you can only really reach the taps when your head is underneath. That being said, I would return.

Accommodation was in a great location for exploring the coastline and inside was very clean and comfortable.
Loved the fact we had an estuary view, which made for a relaxing few days away.

Exactly as shown in the pictures. Very clean and super comfortable. Close to lots of beautiful places and the coast. Recommend Beverley a beautiful Market town - great shops and coffee places with good Saturday Market.

Severe Biohazard, Rats, and Mould – Milbanke House, 7 Aline Street, Seaham

Our stay at this property was an absolute nightmare due to critical health, safety, and management failures:Active Rat Infestation: There was a pile of five to six black bin bags full of previous guests' rubbish left rotting in the back yard. This waste was actively being chewed and eaten by rats.

Because of this severe biohazard, we could not use the designated rear parking space or even open the back windows.

Widespread Mould & Damp: The entire property had a heavy smell of damp. There was visible black mould on the small bedroom window frame black mould around the bottom of the en-suite shower.

The wall right by the front door was severely salted, and the paint was actively shredding and peeling off onto the floor during our stay.

Unequipped Kitchen: The kitchen is incredibly basic and lacks essential items, failing to provide even a simple chopping board.

We contacted both Host & Stay and Booking.com immediately on arrival to request an emergency relocation due to the health risks. This was completely refused.

While Host & Stay promised to remove the rubbish, they ignored the active rodent infestation entirely and left us stranded in an unsafe, unhygienic environment.

Do not book this property.

The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Byres. It is well equipped and very spacious. The patio catches the sun throughout most of the day, and is a lovely spot to spend a moment or two. Happy to recommend. We would stay here again.
The only particular comment is that the listing states there is a barbecue, but we couldn’t find one.

My Mum and I stayed at Cozy Cove for our first trip to beautiful Northumberland last week. The caravan was tastefully decorated and provided everything that we needed for the week.
The location was perfect for visiting the area too.
A comfortable stay and we look forward to returning.

Excellent from the start of the booking to getting home. Great hosts, really nice apartment, really nice touch having all the essentials there, game changer. Fabulous location couldn't fault a thing. Will be back thank you

The location & apartment was beautiful but was given the wrong code to get our key and wasn't given which apartment number we where staying. The parking situation could have been explained better. But was sorted in the end. As we asked the gentleman from the chartered & audited building next door if we could park over night as it was only for a couple of nights. Which we are very grateful to him. We would stay in the ross's view again if their is suitable parking..

First impressions when opening front door walked into an alley way which was full of empty bottles / cans rubbish and a row of bins Accommodated 6 adults very comfortably. Bedrooms were downstairs and smelt of damp but fairly clean. The shower room wasn’t too great in need of a refresh

Great location. Very clean and tidy apartment.

Cracking’ View was perfect for our large family reunion. There were bedrooms downstairs which suited the older members of the party, plenty of bathrooms and the highlight for the children was the pool.
Beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped (although kitchen scissors would have been handy) and lots of space and comfy seating in the lounge.
We are already talking about coming back next year!!

A superb location for a short break, easy access to the town and beach.
Parking was free on the street just around the corner a very short walk from the Hotel.
Checking in was easy, the room had a sea view and was clean, comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed.
The staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast which was included in the price was excellent.
The Hotel itself was one of the first built in Saltburn and although it is past its prime, we could see past the decor that in places obviously needs updating and enjoyed the fabulous dining room and the character it still has.
We would definitely go back there again .

The location of this property was great in the middle of town and parking is just on the road the property was very welcoming and spotless thank you very much

I have let my properties with Host and Stay for 18mths of a two year contract.
Very slick and professional sales and set up - Very impressed, right up until they stated to mismanage my properties!
Across that time they have achieve less than 60% of the revenue promised and I have managed to equate to a £3,500, loss due to mortgage, utilities, cleaning etc just between Jan - June 2026 - Which I predicted to them in Jan 2026, based on their heavy discounts. Needless to say that they have made over £10,000.00 commission!
Despite receiving an initially proactive interest from the Operations Director, Euan Cameron, there has been no reply for seven months.
They simply use 'Booking.com', 'Airbnb', etc and add an extra 10% commission charges.
If there is any issue, the service is absolutely hopeless, both for Hosts and Guests :-(.
Recently there was an issue with a booking, so I wrote an email and copied in six different contacts at Host and Stay - NO ONE RESPONDED !
Avoid - Simply because you will receive the same bad customer service with Booking.com', 'Airbnb', etc, but you will be charged less !

This company manages other people's properties (we booked via booking.com). The property was nice enough - but it was left dirty and many things were broken around the flat. Which made me think the management and housekeeping process were very poor. Their call centre was fairly dismissive of the issues and when I logged the full list of issues they are now dealing with as a complaint. The property and whole experience could have been so much better with some more care and attention to the property.
