Extremely frustrating and disappointing…

Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with Hopper.
My daughter’s flight was canceled by the airline, making it impossible for her to travel. This was completely outside of our control, yet Hopper provided no meaningful support or resolution.
We attempted multiple times to contact customer service and escalate the issue. There was little to no response, no clear escalation path, and no accountability from management or any executive team.
What makes this even more concerning is that another company (Priceline) tied to the same trip issued a full refund immediately due to the airline cancellation. Hopper chose not to show the same level of fairness or compassion.
When things go wrong — and they do in travel — a company’s true value is in how they support their customers. Unfortunately, Hopper failed in that regard.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend using Hopper for travel bookings.

Refund promised 3 months ago never received - complete fraud

I purchased a Cancel For Any Reason insurance through HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions) via Jazeera Airways. I filed a claim and they confirmed refund of KWD 33.90 (USD 110.13) was processed on December 24, 2025 (Transaction ID: 17584409). After providing all bank details and completing all required forms, I never received the money. They kept sending the same copy-paste responses for 3 months with no resolution. I checked Wise directly and found no payment. Multiple emails were ignored. I have now filed a formal complaint with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Avoid HTS/Hopper at all costs!

scam app now

Hopper may have been legit at one point of time but they no longer are. Stayed at a hotel in Chicago this past weekend 3.14.26 and took us 5 hours to check in. ZERO fault of the hotel. Hopper scams you with booking options and then sends your info to another 3rd party site (Beds4) and washes their hands of the scams that follow. The other 3rd party app canceled our reservation 3 days after making it and told nobody. Mind you we booked a month in advance. We actually needed to look into our accommodations the week of our trip and 5 phone calls in Hopper confirmed we were all set and good to go. Everything was taken care of. It was never. The dudes not in America who answer for the hopper app will talk circles for hours and hours while never fully taking accountability. They wouldn't even allow us to hand our phone to the front desk and they were having trouble making our payment to them. They didn't want to speak to the hotel because they knew they already stole our money. Its actually way worse than this but all i care to review on this. Terrible outsourced company and will never use again.

Premium Disruption Service is Useless

Have used hopper successfully for years but I’m done. On a trip to Argentina, bought premium disruption insurance as Argentine airlines have a bad rep (a well deserved on as it turns out). When I contacted them for assistance with a rescheduled flight, they said that they were unable to as the airline hadn’t informed them of the change. I sent them documentation but that wasn’t enough. They told me to contact the airline even though they were unable to reach them. In the end, they admitted they weren’t going to do anything to help me. Useless

Booked a flight through Uber Hopper and the experience has been terrible. Due to recent war events, the airline is allowing refunds for flights up to 31 March with fees waived. My outbound flight was booked directly with the airline and the refund was processed quickly with no issues.

However, the return leg booked through Uber Hopper has been a mess. I was initially told my ticket was eligible for a refund and that I would receive confirmation within three days. The next day they emailed saying it wasn’t eligible based on incorrect information. After I sent proof from the airline website, they admitted the email was based on outdated information and escalated the case, promising an update within 72 hours.

Five business days later there is still no update. When I called again, they repeated the same incorrect information and refused to transfer me to a manager or escalation point. I’m now worried they haven’t even submitted the refund request and I’ll lose my money.

Very poor customer service and completely unreliable information, this is still not sorted. I would avoid booking flights through Uber Hopper at all costs.

Hopper just didn't bother paying Air Transat for the tickets and then outright canceled the connecting Porter Flights.

They were happy to take over $1200 and then refuse to rectify the situation.

Ongoing dispute, wouldn't accept that their booking flow was wrong despite sending screenshots, wouldn't submit their own other than a document with terms and conditions which were not provided at the point you swipe to reserve and pay.
Offered a paltry $50 and in the end I was more bothered about them accepting they had system issues which they never did.
Perhaps Brian Carroll VF Corporate Development and General Counsel might want to review this and get in touch.

When things go wrong, they will abandon you

TLDR: Hopper did not inform us of an overbooking, couldn't assist us, and then refused to refund us even though the hotel stated that they offered us a refund.

Hopper proceeded to alert us the night of our booking that the hotel was overbooked and another reservation was needed. They proceeded to not be able to secure any alternative that was of the same class and in the same area as the hotel. When we landed, we had to stand outside the airport until 11PM trying to find somewhere to go. The original hotel ended up finding us accommodation at a lesser hotel 20mins away. The next day, we called the hotel and they informed us they had alert Hopper 20 days earlier of the change and offered us refund.

We contacted Hopper who stated that the refund was denied since we did end up staying somewhere, but if we could get the hotel to offer a refund, they could do something. Well we did that (via email) and Hopper denied it again, stating the they had used the money for another booking...which is a lie.

Absolute scam of a company when something goes wrong. When everything goes right, they are fine, but as soon as you run into an issue, Hopper will not help you and fight you to make it right.

If you liked to get robbed...

The app is purposely misleading and confusing in order to charge you a non-refundable "freeze price" and you'e unable to see the total price for your stay without adding your payment and clicking through to the booking page (where they add fees and taxes). I think I cancelled my reservation (minus the freeze price), but I'm unsure because they won't send me an cancellation email.

Update: I’ve taken some of the harsher language out of this review and added a star because customer service reached out quickly and took care of the problem. But, since this is the second problem I’ve had with them, I am deleting the app and I will not use them again.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. They lied. Gave me a run around. Said that the airline is responsible for the refund. The airline said they are responsible for the refund. Please do not book with Hopper, it's so hard to contact their customer service. You will never get the answers, I have been contacted them over 2 months now they have been telling me the same thing over and over. " We will contact our hotel partner and get back to you within 24-48hrs." days after days weeks after weeks they still tell me the same thing.
I booked a hotel through them and realized the hotel does not have beach. I called Hopper back right away because of the false advertisement. They said they would contact the hotel and confirm, which I already did myself too. Once again they refused to refund my money and keep saying they are reaching out to their hotel partner for a refund. This has been going on over 2 months now. I cannot afford to loss this much money over FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.
PLEASE DO NOT BOOK HOTELS TRHOUGH THEM.

They are intentionally misleading and…

They are intentionally misleading and lying. I booked a flight including luggage. In the offer the price was including the luggage. I even made a screenshot of the offer. But in the ende after payment suddenly the luggage was not included. After several attempts to contact their customer service they kept saying that I had to book the luggage separately and pay for it. After insisting and showing the proof the customer service agreed and instructed me to book the luggage and that I would get reimbursed. I asked for a confirmation by email of this and he did. But after the fact no one is responding to my emails anymore. So even though I have it written, they are not responding, let alone paying back the extra costs made fir luggage. Do not trust them!

I booked a hotel for 5 days and on the last day of my stay I was told to rebook, I showed the hotel my reservation and was told to contact hopper, USELESS, the first agent confirmed my 5 day booking but the second completely denied it along with the first agent after the fact. HORRIBLE, MANIPULATIVE, customer service.
