THE most appalling and incompetent…
THE most appalling and incompetent treatment of an established customer.
I passed Saxo's vetting procedure to set up an account in 2022 and load it with approved funds to trade shares. 2 years later, they embarked on a KYC process which I understand has to happen from time to time. Unfortunately they became obsessed with my company dividends which were not physically taken out of the company but rather left in as an investment or directors loan, as I had cash reserves, as explained when I set up the account. This was not acceptable apparently, and my failure to show a bank transfer of those dividends, which did not exist, and is perfectly normal, was apparently cause for them to deny me access to my account and fire sell all my shares at a £30k loss. They even asked for the evidence that my company bought the private shares instead, would of course have been illegal - these guys are just not fit to trade. Whether or not I cash my dividends was of no relevance to my account or KYC. Do not trust your money with these out and out sharks who will throw you in a ditch for no reason.

Our ongoing due diligence requirements are a regulatory necessity, and when information is needed from clients, we commit to a 90-day outreach period to provide every opportunity for documentation to be submitted. We regret that a satisfactory resolution could not be reached within that window.
We have listened to feedback from situations like yours and have made meaningful improvements to our ODD procedures to better support clients through the process going forward.

No Updates, No Support, No Idea What’s Happening
I recently attempted an ISA transfer with Saxo and it has been an utterly frustrating experience. From the start, I received no meaningful updates on the progress of my transfer. They repeatedly told me they were waiting for information from my existing provider, but my provider had already sent everything over weeks ago and were actually waiting for Saxo to provide their bank details for the transfer!
Trying to get answers was even more frustrating. Their in-app chat will cut you off if they don’t want to deal with you, phone lines are perpetually busy with recorded messages, and emails go unanswered. The app itself is not intuitive at all, which only adds to the stress when it’s your money at stake.
Overall, Saxo’s lack of communication, poor app usability, and inability to provide support make this a very stressful and unreliable platform. I would not recommend it.

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m sorry for the experience you’ve had. I understand you’ve now cancelled your ISA transfer; while I respect your decision, I want to ensure we address what went wrong.
What we’re doing:
• Reviewing the transfer trail with our Operations team and your existing provider to confirm exactly where the process stalled, including the exchange of bank details.
• Auditing our communications (email, chat and phone) to understand the disconnections and delays you encountered.
For context, most ISA transfers complete within 3–5 weeks, depending on the provider we are reaching out too and the type of transfer. Regardless, our updates should have been clearer and more proactive—my apologies.
If you’re open to it, one question that would help our review:
• Which number did you dial when calling us, and roughly when?
How to reach us:
• Our main line is 020 7151 2100. Lines can be busy at peak times given the daily call volumes, but you should still be able to get through.
• You can also contact me directly on 020 7151 2033, or email stuh@saxomarkets.com. If you’d prefer, reply with a suitable time and I’ll call you.
If you decide to revisit an ISA transfer in future, I will personally oversee it end to end and provide regular updates to avoid a repeat of this experience.

So I wrote about my experience with Saxo several months ago and how they locked my account for four weeks and demanded everything about me bar my fingerprints,in the last week they literally took several thousand from my account, instead of my receiving the semi annual coupon from my UK government GILTS,the reverse occurred,I became poorer not richer,they deducted the coupon value, Saxo are now under new ownership and boy does it show

Money was taken from my account which I…
Money was taken from my account which I have closed without my consent. Saxo sent an email in late September highlighting the charge starting in November if I did not remove the balance on the account. In October I tried to take the money out but I could not do so, I escalated and then was told try again, still I could not withdraw it. This dragged into November and I still could not withdraw the money. But Saxo took the money none the less and refuse point blank ton refund it. As a result I will be closing another account there as the client service and respect for the client is terrible.
