Ordered and picked up a car within 20 minutes for an urgent trip. All done on the phone. No keys required - just a bluetooth enabled phone with camera. Cheaper than an Uber.
Another great hire. I have used Hiyacar 5/6 times in the last 6 months. Great experience with everything. From booking, to picking up the vehicle, to dropping off. My first place to go to hire a car.
Very convenient, easy to use app , car are in good condition and the prices are cheap compared to other hiring firms
Nice idea poor service, but car broke down and left stranded, wouldn't even refund full petrol tank as was start or weekend away and had to make my way by train, chatbot service shocking, feel customer service unimportant, avoid.
Poor customer service. When anything goes wrong they don't want to know. Offered my £10 discount on new rental after I paid £525 for a car with non working a/c and faulty window.
The app and process work fine, but the insurance is way too expensive. They have a flawed algorithm that calculates the fees based on your job title as well. I have over 10 years of driving experience and have never had an accident, yet I had to pay over £100 for two days. That’s more than I paid for the car! You also have to pay for the identity check, which is something I’ve never seen before. You do get it back as credit, but if you’re unsure whether you want to book, this is not ideal. Additionally, you get tons of notifications and emails for every message you receive, and I couldn’t find a way to turn that off.
Update: I will contact you. I've never had an accident in 2021 and your records are incorrect.
Update 2: I sent a message to the car insurer, they mentioned that it should show as closed with zero payout and rated as non-surchargeable. This was a bump on my car door in the parking lot, not an accident!
Update 3: After a lengthy investigation, they reviewed the so-called ‘accident’ and found that it was just a notice that shouldn’t have increased the insurance price. I was offered a £46 refund. I’m happy with the price now, but I feel like I shouldn’t have had to go through all this to get a resolution. Updated my rating from 2 to 4 stars.

This is a reply back to Hiyacar, for the review I made. Yes you have paid me what I was owed, however no compensation was received for your incompetence and I still have a cancellation on my record because of your mistake. No you didn’t solve it right away it took you 7hrs to sort it out and I was told I should have accepted the hire and it was my fault 😂😂, ridiculous. Now they have removed my listing because of the review I left good riddance anyway.
Worst platform for renters. Make sure to double check the commission that hiya takes. Received a hire today which had 70% commission for hiya, when it’s only meant to be 30%, so I decided to decline because I knew somthing was wrong. I messaged the team through live chat and was left hanging for 6hrs by someone named Aaminah, worst customer service. Then I spoke to Mat and he said there is nothing they can do and that I should have accepted the hire, where I would get £16 for a 3 day hire ridiculous. So now I have a cancellation on my record and have lost money due to hiya incompetence and they did nothing to help. To put the cherry on top I wasn’t paid in full for the last hire I done.
The Hiya process is complex, but you do get used to it. However, BEWARE!!!!!! I was hit with a whopper of a charge for damage which was cosmetic. A charge that I accept, but was only communicated many days after the hire had finished, and should have been covered by the insurance the company added to my upfront cost. I won't be using the company again. You have been warned.

I rented a car twice. The onboarding experience wasn't great. On my second booking, i was told the car is parked in the bay. When I collected the car it was parked on a yellow line, no bay in sight, so i assumed it was the bay. I returned the car to the same location, since I didn't see any other bay, then got charged an extra £105 due to a parking ticket. Customer support was unempathetic, considering I'm a new customer. I think i'll stay with Zipcar.
