I rent my car through Hiyacar, but find that bookings are weeks or months apart, despite living in a city with high demand, charging a low price and having good reviews. The percentage taken by Hiya is way too high - I am left with just over £20 for hiring my car for a day. It's more expensive to rent a bicycle!
Very friendly customer service staff respond almost immediately, fleet of new cars too, pleasure to deal with
I was looking to book a car for a day, install the app and answer few questions before prompt to pay verification fees.
However, just after verification I got message pop up that I can't get insured as I do not have 2 years of driving experience.
(2 years of driving experience) This was never mentioned until the point of verification and payment.
The money is gone from my account and I have to wait a year to utilise that money.

The entire experience was smooth, including booking the car, pickup and drop-off. I had an issue with starting the car, but the customer service were great and quick to respond.
The only issue we had was that my husband (who does not live here) could not drive as he could not be verified in spite of having a British license.
Looked at the website before signing up and searched for local cars to rent. The price shown with no other costs mentioned was £14. When signing up and paying the verification fee the cost then suddenly jumped to £102 - £130!!!! I wound not have signed up if I knew this. I think it’s very false advertisement.

I've used Hiyacar a few times now to drive from London to Shropshire and the service is a lot more convenient than any of the car rental companies. Being able to collect and return the vehicle from a local convenient location and time is excellent. The technology works fine to open the car and the prices are fair. I will continue to use them in preference to a traditional car rental company.
Useless company. Useless Customer service. Lack common sense and lack communication.

I've used hiya many times. They helped sort out my mistakes without a charge(lucky me).. cars were always great and its a pleasure engaging into another trip. Thanks hiya car team whoever you are:) cheers!

I’ve hired different cars a few times with Hiya car, never any problems. I especially like the cars with the option to pick up and drop off through the app without having to meet someone, it gives extra flexibility about pick up and drop off times.
Another big plus is the ability to easily add a second driver for a small extra cost.
I had very easy access to the booking process, choosing return times, a wonderful drive and fuel saving. The ca r has space and could comfort to my expectations!
This is a great platform, the replies from support are fast, and they accepted a few claims that I had to make (as an owner)
The indicative price given by their website was £38, they stated they needed to check my licence with the DVLA in order to verify me and check my details. I have had 28 years of driving with an accident and have no points on my licence. After taking £9.50 for the verification they increased the price to £105. If I’d have had any indication of such a vast increase or even a possibility it may increase by a significant amount I would never have continued

Really useful app and the hire charges are very competitive.
An easy process. Very handy. So good that the car is available for short periods.
The process was very easy and straight forward. I was able to view cars suitable in my local area, contact the owner and get a response in less than 24 hours. The admin team are on hand to help any time and were very helpful with my queries. Insurance is covered within the rental and you have the option to pay a higher fee if you wanted more coverage. A slight disadvantage, you can only rent/book a car within the next 50 days from the current date. Meaning there isn't the option for advance future bookings and if you like to have things such a transport for a holiday planned ahead, this isn't ideal.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience using hiyacar and will use again.
I really like Hiyacar company and the app is easy to use. They have a great range of cars to hire and all in good locations .they are good value for money too . The only issue I have experienced is that other customers don’t always leave the car clean when you book a car . So Hiyacar should be checking their car constantly for cleanliness.
After signing up and trying to rent a car it became obvious there was only one car within 10 miles of my home. That car was not actually available as the owner said it was in the garage. It’s a complete ripoff that you don’t find this out until you have signed onto the platform and paid a £10 fee for an automated verification. A waste of time unless you live in a big city and even then you are not sure to find a car until the owner confirms.
Hiya will not refund your subscription fee.
First time ,so unsure of Ev start up but once I got over the initial reading through the instructions it was easy ..Good experience all round
