Terrible customer service. Employee on the phone started shouting when he was politely asked to get in touch with a rental that was illegally parked blocking a garage entrance.

Freundliches Personal aber mangelhafte Instruktion.
Actually, I was confused and very unpleased to decide, how to rent a car on Creta. Suching in the "jungle" of different companies and prices, we chose through Booking a car from Hertz-Autohellas. We very ready to spend hours to check the car and get it on the road. But it started with a very friendly and polite woman in the reception, "you are upgrated to bigger car with aut gear! Getting the car was easy and again most friendly staff. a quick check-out, scared me - for sure they will be much more sharp to look at the car, when we hand it back. BUT - no worry. they had the same friendly attitude and the day after, back in Denmark - the deposit amount has been cancelled. THEREFORE, i highly recommend to use this compny.
Seat Ibiza gehuurd via sunnycars met kinderstoeltje. Dit is blijkbaar uitbesteed aan hertz / thrifty corfu luchthaven. Aldaar was de Seat niet beschikbaar, wel een Citroën c1. Deze geprobeerd, airco werkte niet, wilde nauwelijks de heuvel op, kinderstoeltje bleek niet passend voor ons kind. Terug naar de balie. Eerst waren er geen auto s meer behalve de duurste, of ik 400 euro wilde bijbetalen. Geweigerd, toen bleek er nog een andere auto voor 320, ook geweigerd, toch nog een laatste voor 240 bijbetalen. Leugenaars en oplichters achter de balie. Kinderstoeltje interesseerde hen ook niets, schandalig behandeld. Pas op voor Hertz!!! Nooit via hen huren.
I was interested in the Flexidrive option, offered by Hertz, as I required a vehicle for a longer time.
I made an enquiry via email to Hertz only to be told that I could only book a car through Flexidrive a maximum of 5 days before the physical pick-up of the vehicle.
I booked a car on 26 June, 4 days before pick-up and I'm still waiting for response. It is the first of September now.
Not good enough!
At least Centauro rent a car came to the rescue and I was able to get a vehicle through Centauro's subscription program.
Centauro customer service was outstanding and I can highly recommend Centauro for vehicle rental.
Not surprised to read all the negative comments in here ... I have been overcharged to the tune of over 400 Euros for 1) excess kilometers I did not do (proved with pictures already shared with Customer relations) 2) a higher price than the price I had agreed at the booking stage for the return to different location. It's been a week since I returned the car, I've sent multiple emails and still the issue is being looked into and I might get SOME of my money back (they have refused part of it already despite being at fault). Meanwhile, on other social media where I posted this review the Social Media team is replying with lies saying that the issue has been resolved. If they also reply here, please note that at the time of writing Hertz has REFUSED to solve the issue. Hertz team please also don't reply to ask me to contact Customer Relations - Customer Relations are aware and have so far been totally unhelpful. STAY AWAY FROM HERTZ.

Upon returning the car the man checked it all over and informed us that all was fine and our refund would be returned to us in full (a deposit we were never told we would have to put down until we actually arrived) when the refund came through it was missing £24 I rung to query this and was told we didn’t return it with the same petrol! We did and made sure of this. I even have a receipt of the petrol we put in. I was told that I should have queried this when I took the car back (the reason I didn’t was because I was told it was all fine and would be refunded all the money) when I rung to speak to that man at the shop we used (kos town) he was so rude to me moaned at me for ringing etc. really horrible man with no customer service. just awful! It’s clearly a money making this they do as they know they can get away with it! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
One day car hire in Corfu on the 12 June. Paid €150 deposit. So here we are, July 17... still no refund of my deposit. What Business requirement is there to retain my deposit for as long as this? This comment will appear repeatedly on a daily basis, or maybe more often, until someone contacts me to sort this out.
A very poor experience of Hertz, Kalamata airport. I pre booked and was charged 70 euros for a satnav that did not work. 2 hertz employees agreed that the item was faulty and the manager agreed to refund. On claiming the refund I was advised that the satnav was working on collection and drop off of the car. The manager has lied and the refund denied. I expect a premium service for this premium price company. They fall well short. Never again.
Wij huurde een auto op 10 mei 2024. De auto had veel schade maar de dame van Herz vulde alles netjes op een formulier in. Ik heb foto’s van de auto genomen tegelijkertijd. Na inlevering van de auto op 17 mei 2024 werd het formulier afgetekend met alles is oke met een :-) erbij door dezelfde dame. Ik kreeg dit formulier ook mee. Binnen een uur kreeg ik in mijn mail een ander formulier opgestuurd en een foto van schade die al op de auto zat. Bij de mail was geen uitleg. De reservering van 350 euro op mijn creditcard is door hun afgeschreven. De mail werd gestuurd met een no replay mail. Dit formulier is ondertekend door iemand anders. Ik voel me flink opgelicht. Ik heb de auto in eerste instantie via de @tui #tui site geregeld. Die heeft @sunnycars als partner. #sunnycars geeft aan dat de auto op Corfu opgehaald moet worden bij #hertz . Nooit bij HERTZ Autohellas op Corfu een auto regelen.
I was charged without my knowledge, with 1656 euro in Alexandroupolis, Greece on the ground that my colleague has not paid the rent for the car he had rented, which was false, because he paid the rent in advance, on the 26th of March. The ladies in the office have my data and decided to take 1656 euro from my account without telling me. When I found out and I called them, they admitted that it was a mistake but they told me that they will wire the money in my account in two or three weeks. I want to emphasize that those ladies took the money from my account without telling me a word, the contract was not signed by me, I was only a second driver in the in the contract. I want to sue Hertz because those ladies used my personal data without my consent. I had a contract with Hertz that ended in January, the 24th, and those employees took the money illegally from my account, even though my colleague had sent them the payment confirmation on the 26th of March and again this morning. They told me that they were angry with my colleague because he returned the car without saying "thank you". Even though my colleague made the proof of the payment, they charged my account and they did not refund the money until I did not call them. And after they told me that it will take two or three weeks to get my money back and this is not their fault. I need these money now. I will fill an official complaint for using my personal data without my consent and for taking illegally the money from my account, which is theft. None of my colleagues will ever rent a car from Hertz, I can assure you that I will go to the media as well.

Nous avons loué un véhicule en septembre chez autohellas trifty aéroport Venizélos.
Le document qui nous a été donné au bureau dans l’aéroport indiquait des éraflures en particulier à l’arrière du véhicule.
A la prise du véhicule nous avons constaté d’autres anomalies non signalées, l’employé présent nous a dit de prendre des photos mais n’a pas modifié le document d’origine. L’utilisation du véhicule s’est faite sans problème et sans incident.
Au retour, l’employé a trouvé une rayure a l’arrière de la voiture, il paraît d’après lui qu’elle ne faisait pas partie des rayures d’origine. Pour cette anomalie il nous a été facturé une réparation d’un montant supérieur à la caution. La caution a été conservée dans son intégralité et nous avons dû payer une somme supplémentaire. Nous avons demandé que l’on nous envoie par mail des photos de la réparation de ce véhicule pour justifier la facturation qui nous a été faite. L’employé du bureau de retour nous a été affirmé que cela serait fait dans la semaine suivante mais nous n’avons toujours rien reçu.
En résumé Autohellas :
1) Nous impute un défaut qui existait déjà avant suite a une autre location et qui n’avait pas été remis en état.
2) Nous fait payer une réparation. Qu’ils n’ont sans doute pas effectuée, puisque aucune preuve de celle ci n’a été fournie malgré leur engagement.

This was an absolute disaster. We had problems with the pressure of the tires from the very beginning. The tire broke and we were left on the middle of the road for a couple of hours. After changing the tire, the following day the car still alerted us about the pressure of the tires. Apparently these people don't work on Sundays. We have had to take a taxi from Napflios to Athens on our own. A complete fail

We had an extremely disappointing encounter with Hertz Thrifty car rental company. Despite paying the full price for a rental, our flight delay of 1.5 hours prevented us from informing them. Upon arrival, we were informed that all standard vehicles were unavailable and were pressured into paying an additional fee for an "upgrade" to an electric vehicle (EV). To our dismay, the EV's advertised range of 600km turned out to be a gross exaggeration, as the vehicle struggled to cover only 290km. This misrepresentation of information left us feeling deceived and frustrated.
Moreover, at return our car had some dirts caused by the grass , which was communicated with the staff. However, we received a bill of 284 EUR for scratches.
Absolutely disgusting and unprofessiona
Been charged for small damage I did not cause. Asked for photo proof the scratch was not there before but nothing has been provided. Customer service was pathetic and humiliating to say the least. Quite disappointing for a company I had worked with without issues in the past.
We picked up our rental car at Chania airport. It was a new Seat Ibiza that was delivered to us very clean and with a full tank of gas.
Pickup and return were very uncomplicated. Also the price was fine.
We will definitely do again.
