Do not walk away from this (ahem) bank, RUN away from this institution, They're allowed to do things that the big three are not allowed. Your costs will be much more than your mortgage payments.

Once loyal
I've been with Haventree through multiple renewals, I have recommended them in the past, but, I'm not sure I'll stay for much longer. I renewed with a ridiculous interest rate that tacked on an additional $900/month to my mortgage. I am a Nurse and single mom, have paid every payment, never used a deferral and have chosen to stay loyal over the last 4 years. Beware, the loyalty only goes one way, I am now at risk of not being able to afford to keep the roof over my childrens' heads. They DO NOT NEED to charge these astronomical amounts. Ultimately, it is my own fault for not shopping around, I wrongfully assumed loyalty had advantages.

Any positive reviews for this bank do not understand what ethical treatment by a financial lender is.
They are so far removed from any sort of value to the customer who pays their salary.
They dishonour written legal contracts and face zero accountability by even their new admin. Fern
Stay away, I don’t know how they ever became a Canadian bank.

Crap
The person I spoke to was rude more than once. The only reason I stayed with this bank was because I was in a bad headspace and sick of shopping.
Zero percent chance I’d recommend haventree. I’d actually probably tell people to avoid it.

I’m sure the prevailing economy dictates your rates, but increasing my monthly payments by $500 (16%!) for precisely the same product is extraordinary. The fact that no alternative was proposed makes me believe mortgage companies enjoy this state of affairs
