I would give a full 5 stars if the website, basket process, tracking, smaller plants were improved but i would be being quite picky! Ordering process online was good, the pages of plant information are also good. The basket process is a little flawed, i find plants are added to my basket without me knowing sometimes and are difficult to remove and if I did not re check my basket I would have purchased them. The plants are wrapped very carefully and I appreciate it when they come with labels and most of them do. The tracking is often a little bit wrong/confusing but I think this is the courier service struggling with multiple packages rather than the growtropicals folks, everything has always arrived on time and in great condition. The plants are often in very good condition, I would say around 10% of the plants I have ordered have come with pests such as aphids, mealybugs but often come with helpful springtails too. The company are very helpful with rectifying any problems and with how to treat plants and the advice is personal and I always feel very looked after, very good customer care. Around 90% of the plants I have ordered have survived over a month since purchasing them, mainly the smaller ones tend to struggle and the larger plants always doing well, with most of them thriving once they have settled in at home. Imperfect plants I have bought have never been noticably damaged either, they are often in pretty good condition. The website has been improved recently, with each plant page containing more information and care tips, I would like to see the 'free plants' in the basket an option at the end and not added automatically as I am browsing- this is due to the fluctuating basket total causing the 'free plant' to become one i would have to pay for as the basket total comes down below a certain amount as I make decisions about which plants I add and remove from my basket as I look around. The rewards process is a little clunky, redeeming codes is not preferable to being able to redeem a few points in an order so I dont have to place a very large order if i was waiting for a couple of rarer plants to come into stock and wanted to use my points on a smaller basket total.
Overall, GrowTropicals is one of the best businesses to buy plants from, pricing for less rare plants not always competitive, but very good pricing for rarer plants and the plants are always in very good, happy condition. They are packaged with love and customer services are so helpful. I will continue to purchase from them, and in rhe future I will probably wait until some of the rarer plants are offered in larger sizes as I find it a challenge to get the 5/6cm ones to grow well.

Ordered and paid. Picked £30 as I’m not rich. Selected the voucher for 8:30am on the 4th September. I’ve just rung him to say Happy Birthday. No voucher to his email today. Not happy.

I am more than happy with my purchases, grow tropicals plants arrive in perfect condition, all packaging is recyclable, my number one online store for my house plants .

Two orders a month apart, both with issues.

Most recent order: two of four plants arrived with webbing on the leaf stems and live spiders, including spiders emerging from the soil during unpacking. Both orders also arrived with adult fungus gnats. These are the only plants in my home and none have been repotted or exposed to other substrate, so the source isn't ambiguous.

Plants arrived under-potted, root balls barely covered, roots exposed at the surface, bare stems with dead sheaths, and one with visible root rot. Every one needs immediate repotting and additional substrate, which isn't what I expected at these prices.

Only 3 of 4 plants came with a plant passport. This also happened on my first order. Under GB rules, distance sellers are required to supply a plant passport to the final user, including for personal purchases.

Their FAQ says every plant is hand-checked before leaving the nursery. I'd like to understand how these passed.

I contacted them on 1 September with photos and video and have not yet had a response.

Received a labisia turtle back plant in a rescue box some time ago. The original plant is glorious with very large leaf. Took cuttings from damaged leaves and these are now lovely little plants.
Amazing plants always from this company. Any query and they get back to you very quickly. They are always happy to to help and advise.

Just unpacked my latest order. Again, absolutely delighted with the plants, they are a wonder in themselves but such perfect specimens. Again, immaculately packaged.

I've been ordering from GrowTropicals for over a year. The packaging is secure and the plants are fresh. The only time I've had an issue, it was put right promptly by the great customer service team.
I will continue to order from GT as I trust them. I've also started dabbling in Tissue culture which is going well so far 🤞
