Awful service would not recommend
Quite simply, after the service my daughter received through Gordon Brown law, I would honestly say avoid like the plague.
Go and use a local legal firm where you can deal with one professional person that you can visit in person if the need arises. Don’t go down the route of a recommended firm by your broker, in this case L&C mortgages. Very disappointing.
If you want service that you would expect from a legal firm don’t waste your money with Gordon Brown.
No doubt a generic reply will come back saying that I was not their customer. Please note even being given full authority by my daughter to act on her behalf, they don’t accept that. So if you are helping your kids through the process of buying a property GB law is not the firm to go with. Again go local,
Read all the negative reviews and one person stands out, unfortunately for my daughter this is who dealt with her case. If you already have this person, the very best of luck!

Our solicitor
Our solicitor, Shafa, was very professional, informative and knowledgeable in dealing with the sale of our families house. Communication with the buyers solicitor and also the solicitor who held the house in our families trust was swift and handled superbly, making a not so straight forward sale seamless.

Thank you to Gordon Brown Law - Team Valley Trading Estate office. We instructed/ worked with them ion the estate of my late Mum's home and my wife and I's home. Seamless service from start to finish. Gordon Brown Law - Sara T took on any of the burden, queries with both homes. Transition of both homes was brilliant, a few niggles with our home I.e. fence but that was quickly rectified by us. Communication amazing from start to finish, plenty of updates throughout the whole process. Can't thank Sara T enough she is a credit to Gordon Brown Law. She is polite, friendly, very approachable, caring, professional, human as in explains things in laymans terms and not corporate jargon. Sara T is exceptional at her job. She goes above and beyond. Excellent support leads to successful outcome.
Delighted with the support Alex Findlay of Gordon Brown Law gave me during the purchase of an auction property. The timescale and the need for a mortgage meant that we were always up against the clock but good communication and a ready willingness to deal with my queries meant that we were always just on track. Awful experience - avoid at all costs
I am currently selling my flat through Gordon Brown Law and have never experienced such dire service or communication. I have chased my conveyancer 5 times for an update on where the process is and haven't heard anything back from her for weeks, it's absolutely shocking and extremely frustrating! I also cannot get through to the firm on their phone after many attempts and 15-30 mins on hold each time, so I am lost as to where to go. Based on my experience so far, I would advise avoiding Gordon Brown Law at all costs.

At this stage I would leave zero stars…
At this stage I would leave zero stars if I could.
The service is incredibly poor from start to finish. We have been in a position to exchange for weeks with all parties ready to go except for GBL. We’ve submitted the correct documents time and time again without feedback or communication on fixed dates which keep getting delayed. I would not use this firm again as everything has been so poorly managed and resulted in no end of extra stress. I hope the customer service respond to this and get our sale finally moving.
I’ve submitted an email of formal complaint today and expect action to be taken but I won’t be holding my breath.

First Class Service
We used Gordon Brown Law to help us to purchase our next home , we can only heap praise on the professionalism and diligence we experienced. Emily Knill was our conveyancer and she was brilliant, really took time to understand the complexity of the various property deeds and explained everything in simple layman terms- so many other solicitors tend to wrap you up in their own language. I wouldn’t hesitate on using them again or recommending them to friends and family. We completed in under 6 weeks from acceptance of our offer ! You can’t ask for much more and didn’t have to chase for anything. Thanks Emily and the team at Gordon Brown Law
