Like others I would not give GoldBoxDeals 1 star if I had the choice. I order an apple ipad air 2 on the 28th May for my daughters 12th birthday. It arrived in a plain box (not as advertised in an apple box) on the 3rd June. I checked it and put my daughters iTunes details in and left it in the box. It was her birthday on Wednesday (5th July) and at first it worked but within a few hours it would not switch on, just the apple logo kept flashing on and off. I tried all the methods of trying to re-boot and asked my brother who is a bit of an expert to try but he cannot get it to work either. I contacted them today to ask for a refund or exchange and they said that as it is outside their 30 day warranty they will do nothing. So I have made a very expensive £350 mistake. My daughter has no present but I will have to replace it. I have contacted Groupon and I am yet to hear back. I wish I had googled the company before but assumed Groupon would do due diligence and not allow a company like this to continue. I am absolutely furious that this is literally £350 down the drain.

I normally give merchants the benefit of the doubt, but these guys are dire.

Bought an iPad mini 3 128GB via Groupon. I was eventually shipped an iPad mini 3 16GB.

They claimed it was a listing error, blamed Groupon and advised to return for a full refund. (Groupon deny this).

I'm still waiting for a refund.

Save your time, money and stress and avoid, avoid avoid.

I bought a reconditioned iPhone 6 costing nearly £400 from this company at the end of November 2016 through Groupon. Firstly it arrived in a small plastic bag inside an ordinary jiffy bag by Royal Mail, no additional packaging, no instructions, nothing! It took me a few weeks to get it set up (Im not a techie) and visit the 02 store to get my SIM transferred. The week before Christmas it was all systems go .... except that (a) it kept turning itself off randomly and saying that the battery charge had run out (immediately prior it would show 40% charge, and (b) the sound on/off switch was faulty and would not stay on whatever you set it on.

After Christmas I contacted Goldboxdeals and after a few exchanges of emails to enable me to 'detach' it from iCloud they emailed me a return label. It was returned by Royal Mail tracked on 24th January with an estimated repair time of 4-6 weeks (which was a long time I thought - if only I had known!) After working abroad for a few weeks and the six week period having passed with no returned phone, I contacted them and they said they would email 'repairs' to get an update. After many many emails and 16 weeks after sending it back I have still not had any update. They have even refused to confirm that they are in possession of the phone even though I have RM tracking confirmation that it was received.

At the end of my tether I contacted Groupon who have been no better at resolving the problem despite many emails. Looking though other reviews I cannot understand why Groupon would continue to deal with them. I have told Groupon that all I want now is a refund, but they will not even do that.

My advice? Never buy anything from Goldboxdeals! Their customer care is terrible, in fact non existent, they are an absolute nightmare. It seems wherever I look for reviews the story is the same – if only I had done that before buying this phone. If I could give 'zero' I would.

*** UPDATE*** I finally got my refund from Groupon and £100 compensation after I wrote to The Sunday Times and the case was taken up and reported by there consumer journalist Jill Isley - it really shouldn't have needed the intervention of a national news paper to get this resolved.

As for Goldboxdeals - I never hear anything from them.

Bought iPad 2 air from Groupon ( merchant gold box deals) iPad arrived but the send the cheaper model without cellular £80 less than I paid. I am also doubting this is a genuine product as the cable is not genuine apple nor did it arrive in an apple box. Contacted groupon re refund as Gold Box Deals do not have a valid address or phone number so am unwilling to return to their fake PO Box. Groupon have a responsibility to check their merchants are genuine and have failed to do so with Gold Box Deals. Please do not buy apple products from Groupon or anything else.. they are a money grabbing company with the worst customer service. I have now called my bank for a charge back and will be contacting trading standards.

Only 1 star as i cannot give zero. Ordered an ipad 3 from them but came with a damaged charging port so couldnt be charged. Sent back tracked with proof of posting. 15 days still no refund. Now raising small claims court papers against them cannot wait to send the baliffs in. Terrible company

To be honest I wouldnt even give them 1 star.I returned an i pad air 2 to be signed for paid 379.00 refurbished on 29th march 17 tracked and next day delivery to them. As yet nothing no refund I have contacted Groupon who are trying to find out what has happened. There are so many complaints about them why does Groupon entertain them.

These people are thieves, plus I also believe the products they sell to be fake. Check them out on Moneysavings expert , 3 pages of complaints about no refunds, no contact and non genuine/fake apple items. Groupon should stop dealing with them

My daughter bought a refurbished ipad last year via groupon. She's an open uni student & worked hard to save the money to buy the ipad. She only bought it because of the 1yr warranty. Thought we'd be covered if anything went wrong. It stopped working after a month so took it to the apple shop & they told us the serial no. didn't match up with the out of date warranty. We sent it back over 3 month ago for an exchange & have sent emails but still no communication. My daughter is over £230 out of pocket. Next time we'll buy from a reputable high street retailer & pay the extra. DO NOT BUY FROM GOLD BOX THEY ARE THIEVES!!

I Purchased a refurbished Ipad Air from Groupon from Goldbox deals. They advertised stating the device has 1 year warranty from apple and that it comes in Apple white box with USB connector - The price for goldbox (239 GBP) was slightly more than advertised in Apple refurbished website (209). But i opted to buy it as the refurbished products from Apple were out of stock.

When the device arrived it was in a yellow box and when i took it to the apple show room they confirmed that the device was a refurbished one but not in warranty. Later when I contacted Gold box they mentioned they had made a mistake in their listing and that the warranty was the seller warranty and not manufacturer warranty. Further the accessory provided by them was not genuine and of sub-standard quality as a result of which the ipad did not charge. I bet most people who were ready to buy the product were willing to pay the premium for the apple warranty and not for warranty from goldbox.

While writing this I am still waiting to see if Groupon is able to help me with the return and refund. I would sincerely advice people to keep away from this vendor especially when looking for genuine products.

Bought an iPad last year from goldboxdeals through groupon. The iPad was faulty so I returned it for repair (they wouldnt refund or exchange) they have had the iPad since 19th October and I have only received a couple of emails and sent dozens. No iPad over 3 months later. Repair was supposed to be 4-6 weeks! So disappointed in the service and complete lack of communication.

Ordered via Groupon paid hundreds on 10th December advert said 7 day delivery and when still not showing as despatched on 16th emailed to which they replied they were experiencing short delay on their delivery. I then had to ask when they expected, to which I got a one word reply Wednesday. I then said this is 21st December am I to take it that I will not get in time for Xmas which is what the item was needed for and again a one word reply came back 'definitely'.
LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR WHAT YOU NEED.
