We have used a number of conveyancing solicitors over the years, not often a pleasurable experience.

This was a bit different; pretty quick, pretty slick, pretty good all in all.

Six weeks from start to finish (two bank holidays in there too!).

We are first time buyers and we did not what to expect, but Amy who was our first point of contact was amazing, she was prompt to respond, if she was not in someone else from the team would always respond back to us.On the day of the exchange of contracts Charlotte emailed and also rang us which was early in the morning to let us know the exchange had happened which i thought had a very personal touch to it. It was smooth sailing for us and they were very professional.

As a first time buyer I had heard a lot of stories about poor communication from solicitors causing delays. Fortunately my experience with Goddard Dunbar was amazing. There were a few hiccups along the way due to issues arising with the feed however, the communication was amazing and the team were very helpful. When my solicitor was on leave there would always be a response form one of her colleagues if I had any enquiries. I would 100% recommend this team. I am so thankful that I had their support through this process.

Used Goddard Dunbar following a recommendation after having a poor experience sorting my dad’s affairs with another company. My mum passed away quite quickly after my dad and used Goddard Dunbar to deal with my mum’s estate and sell her property. Was the best decision I have ever made.

We used Goddard Dunbar to reassign a family protection trust and to carry out the conveyancing on my mothers house when she passed away,
Abby Roberts carried out the work on the trust and was helpful throughout
Sharon Plane and Elliot Rogerson carried out the conveyancing, although we had to deal with buyer’s solicitors who were extremely difficult Sharon was always very helpful with excellent communication and even carried out some of the buyer’s solicitors work to get the house sale completed, nothing was ever too much trouble.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Goddard Dunbar and would definitely use them again if I move house in the future.

These solicitors are the best I have experienced. Very professional, letters to update you and sent out straight away. Great relationship with them all. Emails sent and responded to very quickly and no question unanswered or explained. I would definitely be using this company again if I needed to in the future. I dealt with Carole and Danielle and thank you for all of your help and support.

Poor experience start to finish with our house buying/sale. No real advice offered at all throughout the process, allowed other parties to delay and delay without chasing. Progress only seemed to happen when we chased ourselves, which we had to do alot. Couldn't reccomend them at all.

Update : After our initial complaint was registered via email, it then got lost until I called to chase why I hadn't had a response. I was advised "oh sorry we didn't realise you wanted to raise a formal complaint, we will raise it now". (This was despite it being in direct response to the customer service request for feedback via email on here and containing "complaint" in the subject line.)

The complaint was then formally raised but then took over the agreed timescale anyway (because the complaint handler went on holiday). Today we received an email response with a timeline of events missing multiple key phonecalls, a completely bias siding with the firm on all points and no impartiality as such the complaint was not resolved in our favour . Prior to the resolution we had no further reach outs to ourselves for clarification on our side of events and as such we found the resulution squwed because of this we are now taking the complaint to the legal ombusman as the saga of incompetance continues.

I will update again once we hear back from the ombusman.

Hopefully my review can prevent atleast one person from going with this firm that in recent times has clearly started taking on far too much work to handle, and due to this they are failing to take any care or due dilligence with their clients cases and concerns.

Beware.

I would definitely recommend using Goddard Dunbar for any house moves. They were so good and responsive throughout our move. We even had a buyer pull out last minute and there was no additional charge to do the work for the new buyer.
The whole team contributed so we were never waiting on a single individual because if they were off one of their colleagues replied. We would get responses same day to pretty much any query.
