A terrible let down

A terrible let down. Booked a Cargo van today in Malahide Bridgefield for 11:15. The door wouldn’t unlock and when I got through to customer service she tried rebooking and unlocking her end. Nothing worked. I was on the phone for over 30mins to be told that something was faulty and there were no other Cargo’s available.
Therefore, I couldn't get what I needed to be done and had to let down two other people waiting on me who were to help me moving items.
On top of this my account appears to have been deleted as my account has disappeared. Very odd but just as well as I would never use them again.

It's a SCAM!!!

AVOID AT ANY COST!

I rented a vechicle on the last day on June.
The fuel card didn't work, of course...
So I paid with my own card as they promised a fuel refund.

THREE and a HALF MONTHS since (it's mid-October now) and STILL NO REFUND!!!

Tens of hours of waiting for "customer service" to answer the phone.
Many hours over the phone or by email trying to convince them to pay.

No result, just empty promises.
They even blaim my bank for the refund never happened.

I sent the last email today before sending my solicitor and report them to Gardai and the Revenue.

2 cars, almost no problems

I used GoCar for the first time for 2 days of trips around Galway. There were 6 of us, so we rented 2 cars.
With one car, nothing went wrong, the car was in great condition - though a little dirty inside - and there were no problems at all, from beginning to end.
The other car had the engine "locked" for some reason so it wouldn't start until we called customer support (the issue was solved on the spot). When it came to locking it, it appeared locked on the app but not in reality. Solved with a call.
The app is a bit fidgety and even though all 6 of us signed up, only 1 got their licence approved and the 5 others had to call in order to get it (this was 2 weeks after the submission - they say it usually takes 48h). Again, nothing that couldn't be solved with a call.
It is not the smoothest experience, compared to similar service, but thankfully nothing like the one described in these other reviews.
I would definitely use this service again.

Ive been a GoCar customer for at least…

Ive been a GoCar customer for at least 4 years. It all works well until it doesn’t.

GoCar has the WORST customer support. The stress you will have to go through to report and sort if you have any issue is not worth it. It’s stressful, and most of all UNNECESSARY.

Have a bloody 0800 ! Hire support agents, ANSWER phone calls, LISTEN to your customers!

I really hope YUKO keeps growing it’s base so it’s BYE GoCar for me for EVER.

No customer service available. If there are issues you're on your own.

I've had numerous issues with Go Car. From the car itself being double booked, not unlocking when I find it, not locking at the end of my trip, the petrol card not working, being unable to get a refund etc etc. And Go Car's customer service is non-existent. The phone number isn't connected so you can't call them. They will not reply to online requests for weeks if at all. It's painful. I only use them when I'm absolutely stuck. They are an awful company to deal with. Even the email address they give you for help "info at gocar.ie" isn't monitored, you will get an automated response back saying so. What a farce.

HORRIBLE COMPANY

HORRIBLE COMPANY - EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE

My partner and I rented the van about a week ago. Charged twice for rental fee. Attempted to contact them to get a refund. We got completely fobbed off. Woman on the phone stated she will send our refund request to the ‘financial dept’ and we will get a refund in a few days. When we heard nothing, we contacted them again and another woman on the phone said we need to request a refund online to which we did. Still NOTHING. Customer service is impossible to get in touch with. Van was banged up all damaged inside and out. Will NEVER be using this company again and would never recommend to anyone.

Engine was locked in the middle of the…

Engine was locked in the middle of the countryside at night, customer service has all gone home at this point, despite attempting to call them for well over an hour. Not planning to sleep in the car I had to get an €80 taxi back to Dublin. The next morning, after an hour of waiting on the line, I was finally told that there was an error on their part which led to the engine locking. I have submitted receipts for both taxi and my booking to be refunded but even after calling them back 3 times and following up with 12 emails no one has responded.

Non existant customer service

I would be nervous about using go car again as I've been trying to get through to them for the past 30mins due to an overcharge on my account.
The phone number does not work and neither does the email support on the app.
God help those trying to get through to them in an emergency!!!

Son unos ladrones..no podría expresar…

GOLDCAR....Son unos ladrones..no podría expresar en palabras la gran decepción que he tenido con esta compañía..alquilo un coche tirando por lo más económico para tenerlo durante una instancia de 6 horas sin hacerme falta,usarlo solo para llegar al destino y volver..pago unos 30 y pico eur por internet y cuando voy a recogerlo,si no pagaba 162 eur para un seguro,más 80 y pico de depósito por el tema dela gasolina no me lo daban y además perdía los 30 y pico del alquiler principal..cómo es posible que por 6 horas el total sea unos 200 eur y tantos??,la idea era gastar lo menos posible tal como está la vida y esta gentuza desgracia por su protocolo y precios demenciales ...ojalá quiebren por quedarse sin clientes que no se merecen y que la vida les cobre en salud lo que roban por la necesidad de otros.

Awful - Avoid

Awful. I have been trying to get my drivers licence approved for my account for weeks.

Initially I was told it was rejected because it is an international drivers licence, which it is not, but rather my national Irish drivers licence . I then once again uploaded separate images of this drivers licence and have still been waiting.

Having emailed the address stated on their webpage, I am told they don't accept queries there anymore, despite it still being listed as the place to do so...

Then calling, after eventially getting through to someone having been told the first 2 times I called that no one there could take my query, I was greeted by an incredibly rude woman who told me to upload again (which I have do so multiple times) and put my credit card information in to complete otherwise I won't know if my license has been approved.

Needless to say I did not and will be taking my business elsewhere. An absolute joke of a company.

I recently booked a van to move house…

I recently booked a van to move house in Dublin.

On arrival, the van did not open. After approx. 1 hour on the phone, the customer-support said there was a technical error requiring a mechanic and I would have to cancel and rebook.

As there were no other vans I could not use the service.

To book the van for 1 day, I put 60 euro credit on the account. GoCar representative said they would refund me but they CHARGED ME TWICE instead.

I complained and sent a reminder but now 10 days since I have heard nothing.

Terrible service that has stolen money from me.

Hopeless!…

I've already uploaded all requested licence documents etc but will not verify me. Yet they still keep e-mailing me to advise I need to upload my licence. Hopeless!!
Looking at other reviews, it's look like this company is in a mess!

Worst service ever

Worst service ever, today my friend spent 2 hours changing and cancelling booking because either the car was not in good condition or because it was impossible to open the car. The people from customer service are rude and useless !! Good Concept but I wont recommend at all. Avoid it ! Plus, no commercial gesture.

Infuriatingly unreliable service which ignores calls

This would be a great service if it was actually run properly. But it's not. Bottom line: if ANYTHING AT ALL goes wrong your day will be RUINED. You just can't rely on this company.

I've used the service quite a few times over the years with no problems, until the last year or so when things started going downhill real fast. The last four times in a row have been a horrible disaster.

Their customer service is a joke. You'll be lucky if they answer the phone AT ALL, and even then it will be after 45+ minutes on hold even at OFF PEAK times. And this is their 'emergency' line. I'm pretty sure they only have one employee on the phone at a given time, if they have anybody at all.

But it gets worse. They have ZERO redundancy. ZERO backups. If something goes wrong, if someone crashes a car or doesn't return one, they don't have a spare. They don't have a anyone to fix the car if it breaks down. They don't have anything. Imagine: You get through to them after an hour of infuriating waiting as your day sours further and further, only to be told there's nothing they can do because they are utterly unprepared and have zero logistical capability. It's pathetic.

It's also unbelievable. Their parent company is the car/van rental outfit Europcar!

Here's what happened to me today. I had booked a car to go a wedding. I'm the best man, it's important, so I booked this a MONTH in advance. I arrive at the place the car is supposed to be. No car to be seen. I look at the app, where is it, is someone running a little late? Nope. It's in a completely different city 50 damn kilometres away! That's at least an hour's drive and app doesn't even bother notifying you that it will be late!

So I call them. Call gets cut off. Call again. And again. Get through and I'm still on hold 45 minutes later, and the car has not moved. GoCar won't answer the phone, not even the emergency line. I can't even leave a message. Can you imagine my anger and frustration at this situation? This would be infuriating even if it was free, let alone something I paid over 180 euros for a month ago!

The previous two times I booked a car, the unlocking system didn't work correctly and I had to wait over 30 minutes on hold to get a person to unlock it remotely. The app won't let you attempt to unlock it more than once. Again: no backups, no redundancy. Even the slightest thing goes wrong and you're dead in the water.

The time before that, I had booked a van to move house. I booked the medium size van, which was a hard requirement because of the limited height clearance in the apartment block where I lived. On the day I show up at the spot, and there's no van. The app tells me it's 8km away in an industrial estate on the other side of the city. That's a big pain but okay. I take the bus over there which takes another 40 minutes. I arrive, and guess what? It's a gigantic monster van that's too big to physically fit in the garage. I call them, miraculously they answer in about 15 minutes, only to be told this is all they have, because someone crashed the other van. Once again I'm left in the cold at considerable expense because they have no reasonable backups. They refunded it but that's far from good enough. I had booked time off work to move house and this van was supposed to be used over a period of three days.

I'm just done with them at this point. Never again.
