It was very good and responsive. Many registrars don’t respond, but gname.com were very good kept the communication active throughout the process. The submittal portal was good and easy to use.

Is this Domain registrar a scam?
My friend mistakenly took task scams and her funds got frozen in an account. As it was a scam, she couldn't contact the administrator. So she mailed gname as they are the registrar.
1. At first,she mailed her details to gname, for what gname responded to report in abuse, but the link was not working.
2. The scammers site has redirect service with gname, so she mailed again to contact the web admin with all the details she had.
What she had in return?
Her internal link alone blocked with all the frozen assets. But the same scam group still conduct task scam with scammers and ignorant people.
Why established domain registrars support scammers like this? It's disgusting to see the responses.

Diverse keren melding gemaakt van SCAM door een website die bij hen gehost wordt (Bayminer.com). Alle bijlagen aangeleverd, volledige uitleg erbij en vervolgens na een paar dagen vragen ze doodleuk om bijlagen aan te leveren. Zo gaat dit nu al vijf keer op en neer. Ik kan niet anders dan constateren dat dit bedrijf partij kiest voor oplichters en fraudeurs zonder zich zorgen te maken over de gevolgen voor particulieren die er het slachtoffer van geworden zijn. Géén enkele inhoudelijke reactie op mijn klachten, gewoon alleen geautomatiseerde berichten blijven versturen totdat de consument het maar opgeeft. Wat een slechte zaak!

Hoi daar! Ons abuse-team neemt alle meldingen serieus, en onze collega’s vragen alleen om extra bewijs wanneer de ingediende documenten onvoldoende blijken. Dit is onderdeel van het verplichte proces van ICANN en zorgt ervoor dat we volgens de juiste richtlijnen blijven werken. We willen je daarom vragen om de gevraagde bewijzen opnieuw aan te leveren, zodat we een correcte takedown kunnen uitvoeren en tegelijkertijd voorkomen dat we een legitiem bedrijf onterecht verwijderen.
In ons systeem zien we dat de ticket is gesloten vanwege onvoldoende documentatie. Zodra je de stukken hebt verzameld, kun je de case opnieuw openen en ze alsnog indienen.

Charged without getting domain!
Be alert! Gname will charge you even if you don't win any auction.
I have loaded money in my Gname account to take part in auction. I thought it might be similar to Namesilo auction. I didn't win any of my two domain auction but they deduct $14 from my account. I asked for refund but they refused.
Regularly I buy domains from Godaddy auction and all major domain auction platforms. I never face any policy like them. Completely unhappy with their policy.
I'm here to warn marketers to avoid Gname. You will get a lot of good alternatives ready who will give you free auction participation.

This platform operates with a deceptive fee structure. I was immediately hit with a $7 "participation fee" that they claim is standard. It is not standard—it is a non-refundable charge just to join an auction, even if you never place a bid or win anything.

The abuse department provides the…
The abuse department provides the phishers with 3 days for corrective action.
Then, the phishers just time the re-verification of the phishing by the abuse department and turn off the website right before it. And then activate it again, after the report is dismissed.
This way, phishing can live for weeks. The support doesn't care and points to the abuse form, that was already filled and just asks for it to be refilled.
There is a major flow in the process, unless it is intentional. And some of the other reviews seem to be fake...

Hey Erik. So we do place known abusers on a watchlist to prevent resurgence, especially for scams, spoofs, and phishes—and especially if the domain is reported repeatedly.
We ask for subsequent reports to be refilled so that we can properly document the repeat offence. When approached, our support would rightly direct the complainant to our Abuse team because we receive hundreds of reports a day and using the proper channel helps us stay on top of things.
Our workflow is recommended and approved by ICANN to ensure all reports are handled objectively.

I bought the domain, payment went through but they never delivered. "We will check, we will take a look, we are solving the issue, bla bla..." but they never delivered the domain I paid for.

Absolutely feel ransomed by Gname
Absolutely feel ransomed by Gname. It was our church charity website domain which ran out as we were in the process of transferring to another host. When I came to know that one of the clients from Gname bought it and he is asking me to be prepared to pay more than $200 to get it back. I think there should be a legislation on this. But I guess this is life. We are just a small independent charity I guess I’ll have to take another domain. What a shame!

Hey there! Domains expire, no matter which registrar you're with. Which is why we notify our users when expirations are around the corner, because we assume our users wish to renew their domains to stay in business.
Upon expiry, domains go through a multi-stage process before it is eligible for public purchase. Users would have been notified several times. If not renewed at this point, we assume you no longer wish to maintain control of your domain and we release it for public purchase.
We do not take domains ransom. Hope this helps!
