I received a gift card over Christmas

I received a gift card over Christmas, when I went to use it , it was declined. I went to website to check the balance , I got a message that the card was available but the balances could not be verified at this time and to check back later, which I found weird because I was able to use a different one. Now I remember about it in March and look it up and it shows that it was used for the exact amount to some weird company prize something. I try to get help online but it tells you to call the number for stolen cards. I did, you never get a person, just a voice message telling you to leave a message about what is wrong with your phone number and email and they will email you a dispute form. The voicemail cut me off before I even finished my email. Stay away!!!!!!

$50 down the drain - complete scam?

Seems like a complete scam. $50 down the drain.
We activated and registered the Gift card then a few months later went to use it and of course, as hundreds of others have reported on the internet regarding this company, we found the $50 balance had all been drained with a "payment" to some company we'd never heard of called SP SMGM APPAREL.

I put $300 on a gift card and I used it…

I put $300 on a gift card and I used it to pay a bill and still should have $100 left. Then when I went to get gas with it it was declined. I tried to check the balance online but it just gives me error messages. I call the number and it asks for a zip code so I put in my zip code and it says its invalid and hangs up. So they SCAMMED me out of $100. Do Not ever buy a gift card from them.
I submitted all the Information they have asked for and still nothing. It was very embarrassing trying to pay for something and the card being declined. Especially after I had just put $300 on it and used it twice then got denied. I have talked with customer support and sent in all the proof they have asked for and still nothing. Then today I go and check the balance and there is a new $30 charge on the card that I didn't do. But yet the card still doesn't work for me. So is the customer support team using my card now?

Received a $200 gift card and when I went to register it, found out that it only had 1.05 left on it and it was used at a cvs. I started the dispute process but it’s been 2 months and they don’t seem like they really plan to do anything out it also the phone number they give you on the back of the card is absolutely atrocious to use, avoid this like the plague.

Dormancy Fees

I got a visa gift card from someone in 2021 for $200. I decided to save it for a rainy day. So, I finally activated the card, in 2026, and immediately did a check balance. It said $200, good, as I thought. I tried that day to use it, denied! Check balance again $0.00! Click on show transactions, it shows a bunch of $4.95 Dormancy fees until my card is zeroed out! The card expires in 2027, but was zeroed out in 2025 by dormancy fees!

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. I have a $100 gift card and I tried to use it and it was declined. It seems it was already used. They must not have good security if someone is able to steal it. I've tried calling but you can't get a person, you can only leave a message and no one returns the call.
Never buy a gift card from this company.

There is no way to speak to a person, This is crazy that they tell you to file a dispute and they will let you know, but it takes 30 days or more. Has anyone gotten the money back? Got these gift cards from an Amazon purchase from my father.
Activated the card, registered a PIN number, went to use the cards, 2 different cards, one for $200, one for $25. Neither worked & when I tried to find out more information as to why, I get error messages.

Christmas gift robbery

For Xmas I was given a mcgiftcard as a gift for $100.00 and was using for little things around town. I checked my balance on a Thursday night and it said i still had $48.98 left. The next morning I went to a store to buy a tool I need and the card was empty. When I tried to check the card balance at the store, it said they were experiencing a technical issue. When I got home I called in and was told I would have to start a dispute case for it which I did. That was january 13, 2026. Here we are on February 9, 2026 and still no resolve. I have never had this issue with visa gift cards and I have told everyone not to buy another mc gift for me or anyone else again. I have zero trust in this company a honestly believe no one should. Very poor customer service. If I could rate it a zero I would.

Quick update to share. On February 13, 2026 this company sent me an email saying my case was resolved and that I would receive a new replacement card with the $48.99 that was disputed and I would receive it within 3 to 5 business days. Sounded good. But never happened. February 20, was 7 days. February 21, 2026 was 5 mailing days and still nothing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY JUST SAY WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET YOU TO GO AWAY.
OKAY, I came and complained so, now I have update this review. Today Febuary 24, 2026, I went to my mailbox to get the mail and inside was the replacement card. Now I haven't checked it or activated it yet. It actually took 6 business days and 7 mailing days to get it. In short in my case they did seem to keep their word and resolved my issue. So if you are having problems stay on it. They are slow but do follow through.

Scam company

Scam company, look at all the bad reviews and it is obvious.

Got bought a gift card, code wouldn't work on retailers, they send me to seller, giftcardmall.com say it's not their issue, it definitely is your issue as you sold it. You can see they just put stock replies to everyone's reviews and don't sought anything out. Person who bought the gift is going to their credit card provider to claim money back.

What a scam

What a scam! I cannot believe Amazon is selling these virtual visa gift cards that you cannot use and whose balance depletes before you can use it. Spent over an hour on the site kept running into errors then over 30 mins on hold—the recording says hold time is 1424minutes, I thought it meant 14-24 mins but now think it’s actually 1,424 minutes. Bad look for Amazon and bad look for visa..

Received a gift card as a gift for my…

Received a gift card as a gift for my birthday. Registered the card and the bakance was immediately drained. (Literally 1 minute after) I immediately called the number on back of the card to report the fraudulent activity to the customer service.... They claimed they would try to investigate the issue. They wouldnt give me their name or anything official to ensure my dispute is documented and submitted. I havent even received an email confirmation of my dispute request. Its all a scam! Please file a report with FTC for fraud.

Updated Review—GiftCardMall has so far communicated well and worked diligently to resolve my claim

Would give it a “0” if I could. Received $100 gift card as a gift, and, after I used only $36, the card was used for two fraudulent purchases, and I had $.43 left. I tried to dispute the charges, but it wouldn’t let me, and, after two days of trying, I was no longer able to access “Balances and Transactions” to dispute. I called the number listed on my card multiple times, and I couldn’t get to a real person, even after requesting an agent multiple times. This Gift Card is a scam—do not purchase!!
After GiftCardMall reached out to me, we communicated back and forth, and yesterday they told me that they would be sending me a new gift card to replace the one that was compromised. Throughout the period that they investigated my claim, they communicated with me to get the info that could help them validate my claim, and all was handled very professionally. I expect to receive my new gift card within about 7 - 10 days. I will update once I receive it and let everyone know. So far, I am very impressed with their handling of this issue, and I will update my rating once I receive my new card.

Tried to register card because the…SCAM!!!!! TOOK MY MONEY FROM MY CARD!!!!

Tried to register card because the website was "down" and the next day logged in and my 350 visa gift card now had .10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cannot get ahold of anyone, cant get a response!!! This is a joke and I agree with everyone else -DO NOT BUY FROM YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCAMMMMMM! After reporting the fraud, I cannot even log into my account anymore!
UPDATE- they have emailed me back and opened a case however it could take 30-90 days to here anything and I was going to use my giftcard for a trip the end of the month so I guess that will be cancelled. Just weird that my card was hacked a day after registering it on their website.
UPDATE!! THEY SENT ME A NEW REPLACEMENT GIFT CARD FOR THE FULL AMOUNT THAT WAS TAKEN. I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE HOW IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF AND IN A TIMELY MATTER.

I bought a gift card I had a refund from Walmart never see that refund
