I received a $50 gift card and drained

I received a $50 gift card and after activating it then check the balance and it shows $30. Talk to there agent after about 15 minutes on hold. Balance was zero. Obviously there site has been hacked. I have a case and it looks like I will need to take legal action. The card didn’t show any sign that it was tampered with. My advice is not to give Visa or Master Card gifts to anyone.

SCAM!!

My son received a prepaid card from GiftCardMall.com as a graduation gift. As soon as he registered the card online and checked the balance, he immediately received a notification that the full $50 balance had been used in a transaction by “PAYPAL *BDHLA SHOPPY_MARK 4029357733 06 95131 US.”

The transaction was for the exact amount loaded on the card, which makes this extremely suspicious. According to the website, we cannot dispute the charge until it officially posts to the account.

Trying to contact customer service has been incredibly frustrating. Their 1-888 number only has automated prerecorded options, and there appears to be no way to speak with an actual person.

After reading many similar reviews online, I have very little confidence that we will recover the money. This experience has been very disappointing, especially since this was meant to be a graduation gift.

My son received a gift card as a birthday present and when we went to use it, the entire balance had been drained by a scammer.
I called customer service and they said since I didn’t file a claim in 60 days that it is too late. He was saving it for a future purchase.The Card has an expiration date of 2033. How was I supposed to know to dispute transactions if I didn’t even know they were on there. Very disappointed and I see this is happening to countless people.

I purchased a $200 visa gift card through Amazon from gift card mall. I was able to use it one time for $39. Then I got declined repeatedly. When I called them they said it was registered to someone else and they would send me an email in ten to fifteen minutes to screenshot my receipt from Amazon. I waited two hours, never received the email and called back and the lady said she would send it again, she never did. I called Amazon and demanded they have gift card mall investigated and removed from amazon immediately! They are criminals. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Zero stars should be an option because that is what I would give them.

SCAM!

Checked the balance and it was $100. Went to use $37 of it and it didn't work. Thought maybe it needed to be registered to be used online. When pulling up the card into again it showed only $0.20 balance and a transaction had been made (with about an hour of checking the balance). Called the number on the back and they only asked questions about the card, gave me some weird code to give to the person they were transferring me to, but the person I was transferred to didn't know anything about the code and couldn't do anything to help me. I reported the card as stolen online. The $99 transaction was still pending, so I was hoping it might shut the card down, but I doubut it worked. Stay away from future visa gift cards - expecially from giftcardmall. com and giftcards.com since I've heard they tried rebranding. Happy to update this review if this can be resolved.

Visa giftcard scam

I received a $200 Visa giftcard in the mail. After going to the URL on the card, mygiftcardmail.com, to check the balance, I think this was a bogus web site. Later when trying to check the balance on the giftcards.com site there were several transactions and the balance has been exhausted. I have not attempted to use the card, so this looks like a scam. Such a frustrating experience. I would appreciate it if someone could help restore the card and it's balance to me.

I purchased 2 gift cards from Amazon Card Company is a Fraud

I purchased 2 gift cards from Amazon, registered both at the same time, used one of the cards with no issue, When i went to use the second card, it declined, I contacted customer service and the agent told me multiple times that there was a known issue with their site being breeched when cards were being registered, $200 and they tell me over and over that they are opening a dispute on the charge that was made(when there are no transactions showing on the card when i check on their site. Just as everyone else that have left reviews, they claim they are sending me a dispute email to provide personal information and no emails ever come. This card company needs a class action suite filed against them for fraud that they know is taking place.

So here’s a follow up to the original…

So here’s a follow up to the original situation with this gift card from Gift card mall. So they sent me a new card which took almost two weeks to get after not being able to use the money to as I wanted and once I received the new card I immediately activated the card to use once I was ready and held it in my wallet once again to spend on the purchase I wanted for my Harley. Well guess what happened just to follow up yet again I went to the southern devil Harley Davidson to purchase oil for my oil change on the Harley and low and behold it was denied yet again even on the newly activated card sent by them. Wanna hear the reason it was denied again the expiration date didn’t match on the card that they printed and was properly activated. Now you wanna tell me they aren’t scamming you. So now my wife reaches out and blows them up and they expedite a card to use that we just received today. We will activate the card once we get home and I’ll let you know if they deny it again and if they do we will be going another route after that. Stay tuned

I went online to sign up my gift card for billing info. I ALWAYS make sure I'm not on a sponsored website and always go to the top result, AFTER the sponsored sites that are usually scams. Well, as soon as I put my info into the page and saw that it sent me to a blank screen, I realized the TOP RESULT for this company is a F!@#$%^ scam site. So my money was drained IMMEDIATELY. How on earth hasn't this company purchased the scam site or CONSTANTLY reported it to be removed from search results????? Much less put BELOW the real site??????? Because you can guarantee that they get people on this scam every single day and I guarantee 99% of the calls this company gets is because of that single website that they allow to stay above them. I'm expecting to be out the $300 and I find it absolutely insane

Don't buy gift cards from GiftCardMall unless you are prepared to lose the money and give up your personal information. They will lock your gift card for no reason and ask to sent personal documents, photo ID and selfie to unlock. Reporting their fraud to Federal Trade Commission and Better Business Bureau

It says to hit * to speak to a representative, but it just replays the same message before disconnecting. What a freaking rip-off and fraud!

It became worse. This company asked for unnecessary personal identity information when fraud was committed each time their refund dept was involved.

Edit to add what happened after they contacted me: Get this. They responded. To get the other $52ish that was stolen returned to me, which all this started after they originally didn't to apply the refund from a merchant... They now want the original receipt from when the card was purchased...FROM Christmas. If I don't have that anymore (I don't,nor does gift giver) they want me to get the gift givers personal BANK STATEMENT showing purchase. Yea, they want me to ask someone for their private banking documents to send them after fraud that happened only when they had to issue a refund..Oh, it gets better....if I can't get the bank statement,they want Front and back picture of my DRIVER'S LICENSE AND A COPY OF A UTILITY BILL from my HOME OR A COPY MY CELL PHONE BILL. I believe they want a copy of my licence either way. So...the company where it clearly looks like 'the call is coming from inside the house' re: fraud wants someone's PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT STATEMENT I Received a whopping $100 gift card from. If not, then pictures of front and back of licence and my homes utility bill statement or phone statement. All this to return the roughly $50 fraudulently taken. Make that make sense? They literally want MORE of my personal identity or purchasers banking statements. Read below....one charge was 2350$....it was $100 gift card. They gave them the last $19 on card (left after another cheaper fraudulent charge) ...and noted that $19 as a 'settlement'and now they want all this personal information
At this point, I'm not sure if I need to file a police report, along with FTC complaint. This is ridiculous. It's not a lot of money, but I feel for them it's a huge amount as most complaints are about mysterious fraud..

Original POST--I Received a refund credit with proof the business sent it for a tshirt order I cancelled20 min after making it. The gift card company never applied it. After I opened a dispute, 2 charges, 14.99 and 9.99 to PayPal ( nothing to describe merchant or location )I never made were on there. Didn't find out those 2 charges until after dispute was settled because I wasn't didn't to use the card while dispute was open, so I had no idea the balance shrunk. Then few days after dispute was settled and they emailed that they they had added the refund to card...2 more charges from google EA sports that I never made were charged ; one for 7.99 and one for get this...2350.00 was applied. Clearly not enough for the 2350.00, but they gave them everything but they gave them an amount of 19$ and change that said 'settled payment' next to the $2350.00. it was $100 gift card, I used aprox $47 (under $50) and now there's only 88 cents. Interesting the fraud happened few days after I initiated dispute and then again a few days after I won a dispute regarding proof a merchant reversed a charge, but this company didn't apply it. As of now, $53 has been stolen and it was done days after opening and , and also again, days after closing a dispute with this company. I truly believe the theft occurred as a result of them having their paws on accessing the gift card. Don't ever, EVER by gift cards that these people have anything to do with!!! These people are scammers and thieves.

Oh, and to add to their scamming behavior- When I left a call back number as the option to speak to them. Their dispute dept called me back and the moment I finished explaining it to their representative, he hung up and they never called back.

I would give negative stars if I could. Got a gift card, used it once then boom 2 fraudulent charges that drained what was left of the card. And now their website doesn't exist. So I can't dispute the charges. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY THESE GIFT CARDS. THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM

Absolute Thieves

I've received two of these gift cards for holiday gifts. In both cases, registered and used each once. In both cases, the card had to be run over and over again to get it to go through ..which is embarrassing. Then, the remaining balances are never available for use...even when you very well know how much is left and use it only for that amount. Phone calls, and online services just run you around and you never get your balance. They'll email you a new card with the balance and then it can't be activated due to a "problem on their end" with a note to try again later. They never work. Absolute theft by this company.

Fraud/scam

I received a gift (Gift card Mastercard $200) last June 17,2024. I didn’t activate it until July 31, 2025 on the phone ( their customer service number) with a customer representative of MCGiftcard, i register it under my name and address. I was informed the funds doesn’t expire so i kept the card on my wallet hoping i could use it anytime and anywhere. I never checked again the balance because i trusted it was safe and no one will be able to use it because it was registered under my name and address and i have all the details on the card. Yesterday, March 19, 2026, i was out and thinking to use the card so i checked the balance 1st on their website and it would only shows error so i called their customer service number and to my surprise i was informed it was used on the same day i activated like 2hours after, customer rep said it was used to purchase Roblox online. I don’t play Roblox or any other online games so it would be impossible and the only person i spoke to and know my details was the customer representative who helped me activate the giftcard. It was 1 hr conversation, escalated to supervisor and dispute department however according to them per terms and conditions, i can’t have any refund or money back because the complaints needs to be 60days after the purchase, i didn’t even know that it was used not until i checked the balance yesterday and they said it might be compromised during the time i was trying to activate the giftcard. So disappointing, i thought it was safe and secured my details and all and suddenly it was used to purchased ROBLOX, who spend that much for a game is totally sick. The hardest part it, you can’t even get anything back and lost $200. They blame it to the customer for not checking the balance. I want to give mcgift.giftcardmall.com, a 0 star actually. Will never recommend to buy ever again as a gift or personal use.

DRAINED MY GIFT CARD BEFORE USE

I received a gift card and when I went to activate it on 3/16/2026 and created a pin, I was unable to use it. I received an error message when trying to check the balance again. I called and was told that the card had suspicious activity (although I never used it) and was told a new card had to be issued to me. They said a case number was created and sent me an email with this number. THEN they emailed me and told me to send a picture of the card (front, back), a copy of the gift card receipt and send a copy of my phone bill! I emailed them back and told them it seemed odd and sketchy! Then they responded and told me that they would send me a new card but had to wait for pending transactions. I replied and said what pending transactions?!? I never got to use the card!!! They then went to send me a transaction history of with dates of today 3/17 and to places I NEVER BEEN TO!! I never even got to use the card! This gift card company is a scam!! STAY FAR AWAY. DO NOT PURCHASE!
