Absolute shambles of a company

Been waiting months for claim to be sorted,had zero correspondence from this mob,only ever heard with multiple phone calls and 1 follow up email, supplied everything I have proof of purchase,nothing confirming IMEI but proof of purchase non the less, pointless emailing as they don't get back to you,best bet is to phone and wait for ages if your lucky enough to get through at at,then here same stuff and then no follow up

Claim was magically accepted the day after I wrote this negative review,great I thought... wrong,paid excess that day,was told would get next step within 24 hrs,4 days later and countless chasing up I finally got it.
Sent phone away to get repaired,most company's these days usually just replace phone,not these cowboys though.the company they use to fix it is a long drawn out process,inspect device,get approval to fix,source parts,wait on delivery then finally start repair,my phone has been saying fixed awaiting dispatch for 6 days now (been at the repair place for around 2 weeks now) so after chasing it up it apparently has a defect and back to waiting on new parts arriving, superb only started the claim process 12th September,might get it for Christmas at this rate

From claim to repairs this company are an absolute joke AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I have been looking into this for you. I can see you took your policy out 12.08.22 and can see you started your damage claim in September. I can see there has been a delay due to awaiting proof of purchase. It does state in the Terms and Conditions :
Evidence of ownership - A document to evidence that the gadget you are claiming for belongs to you. This can be a copy of the
till receipt, delivery note, gift receipt or, if the gadget is a mobile phone, confirmation from your Network Provider that the
mobile phone has been used by you between the policy inception and the date the incident took place.
PLEASE NOTE: Evidence of ownership documents must be provided in a PDF format. We cannot accept forwarded emails or
screenshots and we will be required to request further documentation.

I have forwarded your review to the claims manager to contact you and raise your complaint if this has not already been done.

I had a problem setting up my cover

I had a problem setting up my cover . It wasn't on my side . Just had a web chat with Amelia. She was wonderful and got everything sorted out for me . Definitely would recommend this site

This company use a sub company to deal…

We shouldn't have to return the device. It's supposed to have been repaired. Your agreement was if device cannot be repaired a replacement would be sent!! This company use a sub company to deal with repairs. Our device was sent off and came back with the same fault. Now they want more money to fix it again!

I have taken a look into this for you and can see that your phone is being sent back under warranty of the fix our claims team did so there is no additional excess to pay.

Helpful customer service

I took out insurance for my Iphone and spoke to Beth from Gadget cover just now and she was so helpful, informative and patient with me. I even asked her about cover for my new Apple Mac Air (which I haven't purchased yet), she went onto their website and asked me which one I was planning to get and went through each price break down. She's a real gem!

I haven't been with this company long

I haven't been with this company long, and have made a claim with no response from them. I sent an email on their website and it says error. So far, I haven't had a good experience with this company and will be cancelling my policy. (GC10000675)

Poor and Appalling Service

This is absolutely appalling service this Gadget cover providing. i have been waiting for my Replacement phone sent to my me but still didnt process the claim yet saying giffgaff dint send the password for opening the proof of usage document, which is a complete lie. Giffgaff sent it and mobile insurer saying they havent received it , this is ongoing for nearly 2 - 3 months i feel like crying a For this am really frustrated and the next step is to contact financial ombudsman for their failed service. seriously gutted.

No phone calls being answered

I have submitted a claim, however, I have also spent over 3 hours in waiting to progress in the queue when I call the customer service/claims number. Is there a problem with the phone line?

Rubbish service

I lost my phone few days ago and been trying to call gadget cover to start my claim but I cant get through to anyone. Been on the phone on more than 3 occasions for nearly an hour each time listening to the same annoying recorded news message. Feels like i have wasted my money for the last 2 years paying for the insurance. I have also started the claim online but I have had no email confirmation/ phone call to discuss the claim. Very disappointed, i am in urgent need of a replacement phone but this company just dodge taking calls but never fail to money from my account.

Incompetent, not fit for purpose.

20 July I arranged phone insurance for my partner's new phone as she was unable to arrange it herself. I paid via my Paypal.
2 days later I then purchased same model phone and arranged cover for myself, again paid with my Paypal.
With no warning on 09 August I got a Paypal refund for one of these policies.
Customer support said it was refunded due to duplication even though there are 2 different policies, 2 different emails, 2 different IEMIs. Furthermore neither me or my partner can log into our account/polices.
Shop elsewhere as this company is obviously not capable of carrying out basic business tasks.

The worst customer experience I've ever had

I have felt compelled to review a company before, but my goodness... Gadget Cover is truly that bad.

The main issue is customer service within the claims team. I am currently waiting for an update of an item they received 10 days ago, and I'm on hold for 40+ minutes counting. I was on hold for the same kind of time last week, just listening to the same recorded 'daily news' message and 'all our claims handlers are helping other customers right now, blah, blah, blah', over and over again. I may have started to lose my mind.

Apparently the claims team, and the customer service team are different. So the customer service team can't tell you anything about your claim. I imagine that the main thing customers of an insurance comany want is to talk about a claim, but why make that simple, eh?

The last time I made a claim, I had a horrible experience and made a formal complaint about it. I did say I'll switch once I've finished with that claim, but didn't get round to it. How silly I was. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I have recieved another reply stating…

I have recieved another reply stating that they said the method that was discussed to be used to obtain my imei number was not possible but I have a recording of our conversation with one of your colleagues. A female colleague to just help you locate your recordings. No method was discussed all damages to phone was provided yet I was reassured this would of not been a problem I have been given false information constantly and you still cannot understand my complaint I was told my phone will be fixed with no warranty for the repair but the imei number can be obtained numerous of ways.

Logically speaking how do police locate stolen phones or figure out whether a phone is stolen especially where there is no one to find to unlock a device on top of that your colleagues should know your process and to ill inform me is another issue.

But the real issue is that you clearly trying everything possible to reword my complaint deal with my issue please I've had enough you want me to try remove a password of a phone where I cannot even use the screen 😅 it's a joke.

2 months and I had to take out a new contract if you stated that to me in the beginning I would of never sent my phone I would never pay for the delivery of my item no the up front cost to repair my phone.

I don't know how you went from 1 star to 3.8 stars on trustpilot in a short moment of time whether it's forced on your customers or paid for or self made review I don't know I ain't happy and you should try dealing with the issue instead of directing me elsewhere.

This itself is evidence of poor customer service you have a one reply complaints team that don't listen to responses which is terrible 🙄.

Wow what has happened if this is the case I want my 2 years of cover returned to me I also have images of my phone before sending it over so if its damaged any more than what it was then I also expect compensation also the fact that I have had to buy a new phone even though I had insurance is the nail on the coffin.

Let's think this out for a second I talk to the Ombudsman I send them my interactions with your company and also post it on social media and make my friends family and business contacts know of my experience with your company. Will that help you improve the only way you can improve is to take responsibility for your actions and stop attempting to reword my complaint it is dam right rude.

The only advice I give anyone is that there are way more credible companies out there that fix there phones in house and have all the knowledge needed to answer your questions correctly without casing distress or financial loss there are companies out there that keep to there word and deliver service above and beyond because they genuinely care. However this company is just a whole big bag of excuses that colleague havr inconsistent information due to lack of training and due to this I am suffering not fair at all.

As I stated if you listened to all my correspondence with your team you would be able to hear me state clearly that I am not able to remove the password due to not being able to use the screen. (Is this really what I have to explain).

The response I recieved today shows the lack of care or even understanding.

I wish everyone thinks before choosing gadget-cover.
