First off, if your like me, your only attracted to flying solo because you see the celebs and hear words like PR and press pulls. Well, it’s all bogus,

Moevir and l’officiel are magazines you can pay to be in.

They caused me to loose over $200 of inventory by not having the ‘broken in transit’ pieces ready to be picked up and inspected.
They have staff member calling, pretending to be stylists who want to collab, then offer you $800 packages for pictures,
Then? They puff the sales numbers, this is needed because they make money off of our desperation? Not sales.

Their business model gains revenue through designers, this way they don’t have to pay to buy merchandise and stock, they have people paying to be in their store all because of some really great and believable lies,

I was very disappointed because I trusted them but after the call with the “staff member” I did some digging and found other people who had been played and cheated.

Run from them, pay the magazines to be featured on your own and save the $600-$1500 membership because it’s not worth it.

I’ve been a customer love their choice of cool new designers for years and I also Modeled in their clothes (shoots and NYFW) . It’s sooooo incredible to see the the diversity of many countries represented in their shows / stores. Love pulling from them, love the structure of everything and how they make things happen

What a platform, what a team, what a family! I’ve been associated with Flying Solo right from the inception of my brand in 2019 and there has never been a dull moment. From the shows to the retail to the most prolific Copper Room (the PR wing), Flying Solo has always supported my journey and always always given back more than what I have invested into it. I would like to share my experience with Flying Solo. I am the owner of Georgina Jewelry; My Jewelry Brand has been at the store and PR Room since 2018. During this time, we have been participated in 7 shows in NYFW and 3 show in Paris Fashion Week, each had a fantastic atmosphere and professional approach to the arranging of the show! The store has great customers, a perfect selection of brands. Amazing fashion space in the heart of New York City in Broadway.
Everyone is amazing, great customer service, they give us a great support and help us to grow our brand.
The Cooper Room PR works great for us, we have been featuring in wonderful magazines and participated in red carpers for the most important events in USA with celebrities wearing our Jewelry.

Since we are a "start-up" brand and not so knowledgeable in the fashion industry, it was impressive to see FS professional teamwork. Our experience with Flying Solo is great - staff that have been working with us, were always attentive, responding to our questions and requests with 24 hours and trying provide us best solution and services when needed. The people on the sales floor have been also super, handling our styles with the best care and love and introducing them to local customers. Our overall experience especially after the launch of the Flying Solo up and the new inventory system was much better.

The team is very professional and in business for years, I have received a lot of advices and understood in what direction I'd like to develop my business.
PR side is very strong, I have received plenty of editorials even after my contract was ended. I'd love to come back as soon as I'll be ready to start new collection!

I have worked with Flying Solo for a few years now, and they are the most trusted and reliable partners. Customers have a great choice of the most exclusive, often one-of-a-kind pieces. And fashion brands and designers have a truly unique opprtunity to sell their designs in New York and to get published in top magazines! Very strong press attendance on their shows..which are always spectacular! The best from the best. Highly recommended.

As is usual with Flying Solo events, Miami Swim went off without a hitch. All people involved, including the models, were easy and fun to work with! Flying Solo puts together a wonderful show - they are organized and are all-around a pleasure to work with. I will continue to show at fashion weeks with Flying Solo.

I love Flying Solo. I've worked with them for almost five years as a resident designer and have witnessed their growth and evolution. FS is not only a store with a great sales team but a complete platform with a PR showroom, NY and Paris Fashion Week shows, and an environment that promotes collaboration and networking for designers from all over the world. I am a designer that has been with Flying Solo since 2016.

Flying solo was created by independent designers as a platform to give opportunity to other designers to help launch their brand via fashion shows (New York, Paris, Miami,) their 2 flagship stores in Soho NYC and their website. BTW, they are opening a flagship store in PARIS soon!

I cannot count the amount of opportunities I have received from Flying Solo. I've showed my collection during New York fashion weeks & Paris fashion weeks. Showing your collection at one of these fashion weeks can cost a designer 100k and up. Renting the venue, casting models, PR, inviting guests....its a huge event. With flying solo each designer can pay just a little bit and together we can throw a big, professional show. Also, Flying Solo handles all of the show production. The designers only have to come to a fitting and a few meetings (and the after parties!!) : )

The same concept is true with the stores. Flying Solo started with just 10 designers. None of these small independent designers could open up a flagship store in NYC on their own. The rent for real estate in Soho NYC (as everyone knows) is insane. By uniting with other designers each person could pay a little bit towards the rent and show their collection in one of these beautiful flagship stores in the best shopping destination of NYC. The flying solo stores are located close to all of the top designers like Gucci, Celine, Chanel, Issey Miyake including many others.

Through Flying Solo my designs have been in many publications with photographs of celebrities, top models & influencers wearing my creations. Also, I get to sell my work to Flying Solo's customers!

For me, the Flying Solo platform has absolutely been a game changer for my business. However, as any small business knows, this is a long term relationship and it takes time for all of these things to happen. You have to stick it out and the opportunities will come.

Lastly, I just want to say that through Flying Solo I have joined a community and network of designers, stylists, photographers, editors... many of which have become my friends.

I am a designer of Feel Confidence brand! I would like to share my amazingly experience with Flying Solo, I want to thank this store for such an incredible opportunity of my life for my brand! My brand is selling very well at the store, team is amazing, the way I have my pieces at the store is so nice and caring. I am so thankful to Flying Solo and so happy to have my brand at the store! As a designer i would like to say that the beginning of the story to have your own small busses which you want to build big in the future is a lot of small steps and time, to see the way how it goes, each step is an experience which values a lot. Even when I have some weeks of no sales I don’t give up, first of all it’s an opportunity to have my brand in New York at such a cool boutique in Soho! And secondly It’s a journey which you should take seriously and still work on your brand, on the Instagram, advertising and a lot of many other things. Thank you Flying Solo! I’m so happy! ❤️

If you are an independent brand thinking to sell there, think again. Complete waste of money.
Our jewelry brand was displayed from march to june 2022.
We are based in Germany and wanted to expand to the american market in New York. Store seemed to be in a premium position, however we got little to no sales in 3 months time. Jewelry display was also not professional and I had to tell them how to place the necklaces to make them more appealing to the eye. Our pieces are bold statement pieces so it shouldnt be difficult at all. Sometimes they answer to emails and sometimes not so it was hard to keep our communication updated and to get feedbacks regarding slow sales etc. Pr service seemed to work, our items got pulled quite often but, contrary to what they claim in their ads, not from premium magazines nor from hollywood celebrities. Also it has been 4 months and of all the stylist pulls only 3 editorials have been published so far. On instagram they just reposted our story with little initiative to promote our brand. Also their website is not selling at all like it has no traffic.
The returned inventory box was a chaos inside, 3 pieces are missing and we found one necklace from some other brand in our box. They just dont care. They sell you 3 months packages knowing very well that, given the low performances, many brands will leave but they always manage to lure new brands in, which are their main source of income. They dont earn from selling your products so they dont care about driving sales nor in store nor online. Thats the harsh truth regarding our experience with them.

Super cool store, with independent brands you can’t find anywhere else. Not your typical department store or boutique! Really worth the visit when in New York!

Our jewelry brand is displayed at Flying Solo from Nov-Jan 2022. If you are a designer/brand or a company looking to have a presence in New York City, this is the review that you must read - Flying solo is a scam and avoid at all costs.

Our brand is carried in over 46 stores across the country including department stores like Nordstroms. The sales have been crazy despite the pandemic, so when flying solo reached out to me to represent our brand for the holiday season, I did not hesitate nor I did my research. Here are my experience with them,

1. Extremely unethical. I walked into their store unannounced and found out that we are displayed in a half tank space ( $650/m) while we paid for a full tank space for $1500. Our display is sharing the same tank with another jewelry brand who also paid for the full tank space. They over-sold their space for the holiday season and hope no brands would notice this scam since most brands are not local and they don't have the luxury to just visit the store themselves. I am pretty sure this is management's idea.

2. No Traffic. The store is dead. I was quite shocked that we sold 3 pieces in the entire Nov ( we usually sell 2-3 pieces A DAY in a store just several blocks north to flying solo). I stopped by the store to collect feedback and was told by the store manager that Flying solo doesn't drive its own traffic and solely relies on tourist walk-ins. Brands is responsible for driving their own traffic, and only use flying solo for display purposes. They suggest we do shoutouts across social medias and send customers over to the store to make a purchase. Before I leave, one of the store staff ask me " you are here for 2 hours already, do you see a single soul walk in here? No! You need to drive your own traffic!" Gosh, it is the holiday season in new york.

3. Irresponsible and damaged our inventory. Our inventory is returned in a big box without any bubble wraps, nor cushion to protect the jewelry. They just threw everything in like garbage. See pics attached. Multiple pieces are damaged, several are missing, and two don't even belong to us. I emailed them four times in a week, copied the founder. No response, no refund on damaged and missing items, even until today ( April 1). They simply choose to ignore. Eye-opening.

4. Unprofessional and money-driven culture. They don't care to drive traffic because they don't make money from the sales in stores, they make money by selling their space to brands. If you think they would care about brands, you are wrong. They think tons of international brands would want to be presented in new york, they are not short of supply of brands. There retention rate of brands is 1-2% so they only focus on getting new brands in. There are a lot other stores that host events, work on digital marketing/ads to drive traffic for their brands. Save your money and go somewhere else.

5. PR is another scam. It is really for a bunch of digital magazines you have never heard of. Even google won't find them. So if you think this is another perk, you are thinking too much.

Our brand is lucky to be chosen by Flying Solo NYC to sell our products in their stores. I have a very positive experience working with Flying Solo NYC team. I like their professionalism in stores and in the office. A special thanks to David, the sales assistant, a kindest person on earth who is doing an excellent job selling products and is always there to make sure you are happy with his work. Thank you David, thank you Flying Solo NYC team for this lovely opportunity. I wish you the best.
