I’ve known Flying Solo for quite some time, and I’ve seen how much it can mean to emerging designers. A close friend of mine has been working with them for over three years, participating in numerous Fashion Week shows, and is still genuinely happy with the experience. I’ve also met so many designers from all over the world who are thankful for the opportunities they’ve had with Flying Solo. I’ve seen how excited people get at their events, whether it’s a pop-up event in the store, educational session, an awards ceremony, or a Fashion Week show. It’s really inspiring to see designers proud of their work and guests genuinely enjoying the experience. Flying Solo gives people a chance to shine and have their talent recognized. I see it as a stepping stone toward future success. As with all things in this life - what you make of that opportunity is ultimately up to you.

Flying Solo is so much more than a store; it’s a community built on creativity, collaboration, and a genuine love for independent fashion. The beautiful idea it was founded on — bringing independent designers together and giving them a platform to share their creativity with the world. It’s inspiring to see a concept that celebrates individuality, supports talented designers, and creates opportunities for independent brands to grow. Throughout the years, my experience has been consistently positive, and I’ve always appreciated the people, the vision, and the passion behind this platform.

I love how Flying Solo supports independent designers from around the world, giving them opportunities to showcase their collections in SoHo, shine at Fashion Weeks in New York, Paris or Milan, and gain exposure in fashion magazines. More than just a fashion company, it’s a community full of creativity, passion, and wonderful people. So proud and grateful to be part of it!

I've always had an incredible expeince with flying solo. I've sold in their store for many years. I love the story of how they started - the store was founded by designers on the concept that if they collaborate together they can all support eachother and run the store together. It's so expensive to have your own store in NYC. At flying solo all you need to do is join the monthly membership and everything is taken care of for you.

I’ve worked with Flying Solo since the very beginning in different roles. I can say that this company is amazing and truly inspiring.

The way they take care of the designers is unprecedented. It’s a company which lets small independent designers find the way into brick and mortar in SoHo, the heart of fashion world as well as have PR in the fashion magazines and have their collections shown at NYFW and PFW.

In the years of working for the company I’ve met designers who have used Flying solo as their first step into a much bigger future.

The organization of the fashion week shows and day-to-day store operations are seamless.

I recommend all the independent designers to use this opportunity to become a member on the company.

One of those bloodsucking companies that seem to have spread throughout the fashion industry, preying on small designers and independent brands.

I received an email saying how interested they were in my products and how much they liked my work. By the second email, it became clear what the “interest” was really about: they wanted me to pay around $5,000 for their services.

I am so tired of this kind of business model. Small independent brands already have enough challenges without companies approaching them under the guise of genuine interest, only to turn the conversation into an expensive sales pitch.

The fashion industry has more than enough of these parasites.

I'm a new designer and I wanted to get some more exposure to the current fashion seen, so I attended Flying Solo's show at NYFW and can't say enough good things. I had a phenomenal experience. It was actually my first time attending an event like this and, truthfully, I was worried it wasn't going to be easy to enjoy as a newcomer. I was wrong. It was so well organized and high-energy that I just...had fun. They also REALLY delivered on the quality of the designers. Some really amazing looks.

I have been taking pictures and filming with Flying Solo for last 8 years and it’s been truly an amazing experience! What I love the most - they always care about each and every person involved in a process, which is very rare to find in the industry. I think this explains all the excitement and amazing emotions from designers, models and all the creatives involved. I’ve heated so many time “this was my dream show, you guys did such a great job!”, which always warms my heart, because what can be better that pure emotions of happiness!
Also, with the amount of designers in each show, it’s the most seamlessly organized process I have ever seen from the show, and I do have a decent amount of comparison.

Absolutely love Flying Solo! The entire team is incredibly professional, friendly, and organized, and everything is always communicated so clearly. Their fashion shows for emerging designers are beautifully produced from the amazing models to the impeccable styling. What makes Flying Solo stand out is their exceptional care and support for designers and models. The team genuinely takes care of everyone, ensuring smooth coordination, clear communication, and a positive working environment. Designers feel supported in showcasing their creativity, while models feel respected and confident on and off the runway.

Horrible. Bunch of scammers

Hi all! I’m writing this review both to help other brands considering Flying Solo and to provide constructive feedback to the Flying Solo team.

I’ll start with the positives. One of the biggest advantages of Flying Solo is the opportunity to place your brand in a brick-and-mortar retail environment in major fashion markets like New York and Paris. For us, this was a valuable way to test whether our products resonated with customers in these cities. The store itself is very large and houses a wide range of brands, so we were pleasantly surprised and encouraged that our products still performed well despite the size and competition within the space.

We also hosted a pop-up with Flying Solo, and the coordination for that event was seamless. A special shout-out to Beatrix, who was incredibly organized, responsive, and supportive both leading up to the event and on the day of. That experience was one of the strongest parts of our partnership.

Unfortunately, the downsides significantly outweighed the positives for us. The biggest issue was PR. When Flying Solo refers to PR, it is important to understand that this does not typically include top-tier or even mid-tier publications (e.g., Vogue or major U.S. outlets). While we were featured in Glamour Slovenia—which was actually the strongest placement we received—much of the coverage consisted of lower-tier or lesser-known publications in markets that were not aligned with our core customer base.

In addition, we have a very specific brand aesthetic, which I communicated multiple times to our assigned account manager, Daniil. Unfortunately, this feedback was repeatedly overlooked. Communication was also a major challenge; there were instances where responses took weeks, and follow-ups were attributed to messages going to spam, which was frustrating and difficult to navigate as a paying brand partner. I would strongly recommend requesting a different account manager if possible.

Our experience improved somewhat when we began working directly with Jacqueline, who leads PR. She was responsive, professional, and generally good to work with. However, even with her involvement, the overall PR outcomes still fell well short of our expectations.

To be fair, it’s possible our expectations were higher than what Flying Solo is designed to deliver. We were hoping for PR coverage in the U.S. and select European markets where our primary customers are located. If your goal is exposure in lower-tier publications or in regions outside of the U.S. and U.K., Flying Solo may still be a fit. For our brand, however, the return did not justify the investment.

One additional note for brands considering pop-ups: while the support and logistics were strong, the in-store foot traffic was noticeably lower than what was promoted. On the Saturday of our New York pop-up in SoHo, the store was surprisingly empty. This may vary by day or timing, but it’s something to be aware of.

Overall, I would not personally recommend Flying Solo. While the physical retail exposure and pop-up support were positives, the inconsistent communication, misaligned PR strategy, and overall ROI did not meet our expectations. In hindsight, we believe the investment would have been better allocated to other areas of our business.
