It was an incredibly great experience to present the Nikkotakko Jewelry collection at the Flying Solo Show / Paris Fashion Week 2023.
The whole event was well organized and Flying Solo's staff was professional. All the designers, brands and models were amazing and the spirit of togetherness was encouraging and it brought positive energy to the show. The show itself was great and more than I could have expected.

Overall the most legit platform for independent fashion designers out there.

As someone with experience in multiple showrooms and my own pop-up store in Nolita, I can confidently say that Flying Solo is a great organization. I have been a client for almost 3 years, and I am pleased to recommend them to any independent designer. Of course, they won’t be a good match for everyone, so outlined pros and cons of joining them

1. Flying Solo's stores provide a great opportunity for independent designers to test their market without the cost of renting a store and hiring staff. They even allow in-store events such as collection launches, sales, and designer meet-and-greets. Both stores are located in the luxury shopping district of Soho in New York City, which can be very expensive to have your own store in. However, the downside I've experienced is the limited stock capacity. With 50+ SKUs per season that I make for my brand, Flying Solo only allows for 15 clothing items to be displayed + 30 in stock and they are pretty strict about this. I would also not recommend Flying Solo for designers whose clothing items fall below $100, as their clientele tends to purchase mid-range to high-end items.

2. In terms of PR, Flying Solo has a vast network of stylists whose work is legit, much larger than most showrooms. When I dropped off my samples, I saw firsthand how busy they were. I highly recommend letting them select pieces for PR, as my original selection did not perform as well as the pieces they chose from my collection. My pieces have been featured in Elle, Harper's, multiple issues of L'Officiel, and Vanity Fair, among others.

3. Flying Solo's staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating to their clients. They consistently go above and beyond to ensure that their clients are satisfied with the service provided.

4.I also greatly enjoy the monthly designer parties hosted by Flying Solo. While it’s mostly for fun, these parties provide opportunities to connect with stylists and influencers, which can be beneficial for business if approached proactively. I have been able to make great connections through these parties.

For me--a great experience! Elizabeth, Bayr, Jaqueline, Alina, Ana and the rest of the team are super lovely to work with. They try really hard and put on great shows and really make an effort! When the date changed for one of the shows, FS immediately refunded me the amount I paid extra for my hotel room. I appreciated that!

My experience collaborating with Flying Solo Beauty Boutique was great! My company is Starlet Glam Bath & Body. I was ecstatic that one of my body creams got featured in the April, 2022 issue of Weekly Style Magazine. Unfortunately, my financial situation didn’t allow me to continue my contract.
