Overall, Ami-May was fab. Really supportive and quick to respond.
Communication on basic stuff -especially as I was a first time renter - could've been more proactive.

Very poor customer service. Spoke to a man on the phone, said he had me booked in for a viewing, went there and waited 25 minutes, called connells, only for them to say, i wasnt booked in and that i wasnt even on their system. They then added me and reschedule the viewing. I wanted to view another property - only for me not to be on the system again. They third party company who was meant to contact me, to make an offer on a property - failed to get in touch and were impossible to get a hold of. Not the best from a "reputable" company. Certain people on the phone were friendly - however their operation is a mess.

Awful experience with Connells. As first-time buyers, on the day we were given the keys, Isobel from Connells told us there was only a small leak, said it was “not a big issue,” and that the seller was fixing it. Connells even kept the keys for a day, which made us trust that it was being dealt with.

The very next day, Isobel called again saying there was now a “BIG ISSUE”, but could not tell us what it was and said it would be handled through solicitors. We moved into the house to find a MAJOR LEAK, with no explanation of the extent or even the location beforehand.

We followed this up through solicitors and Connells. The seller’s solicitor was Switch (Connells’ own solicitor). Connells told us the seller had informed Switch, but when our solicitor contacted Switch directly, they confirmed the seller had told them nothing at all.

Connells, Switch, and the seller pushed the keys onto us knowing there was a serious issue, and once completion happened and Connells were paid, they did not CARE. They only cared FOR MONEY! ONCE MONEY IS MADE WITH WHATEVER TACTICS, THEY DO NOT CARE!

GO WITH CONNELLS IF ARE WILING TO PAY THOUSANDS TO FIX THE PRE-EXISTING ISSUE WHICH CONNELLS SAYS IT WILL BE FIXED BUT THAT'S THE TRICK!

I choose level 2, and the inspection is even worse than what I did by myself.

And don't bother to report to them, they will just tell you they follow the regulation customers has (has to) agreed.
Just waste money for nothing.

Be very wary of the collaboration between Connells and IAmSold -- or indeed any collaboration between an estate agent and a 'modern style' auction house. They are motivated to sucker you into an auction because they make 4.5% in fees instead of the more typical 1.5-2.0% by the conventional selling method.

Make no mistake, whatever they tell you, IAmSold is going to sell to a cash buyer, who will pay 75-80% of the market price. Im my case a property valued at £250,000 by Connells was sold by IAmSold at £186,000.

Connells advertised well and got plenty of visitors but no offers. They nevertheless advised me to keep the price high for far too long. We stuck at "offers over £240,000" for months, briefly tried £230,000 then they suddenly recommended an auction. I agreed, with a reserved price of £200,000, and still hoping for around £220,000 because they were supposedly getting me the best price on offer from a lot of interested viewers.

The auction did not go well. It was timed for two weeks, but no-one bid at all until the last two days. Most of the bids came in the last few minutes at just over the starting price of £180,000.

IAmSold staff are motivated only by the need to make a sale. They called me on the last day of bidding and persuaded me into lowering the reserve price to the highest bid at the last minute. Foolishly I agreed. I regretted it immediately, but the IAmSold contract makes clear that verbal changes to the reserved price are binding. There was no way back.

Clearly what I should have done is progressively reduce the asking price, against Connells advice, to £220,000, £210,000 and if necessary £200,000. Only then should I even have considered an auction. I still feel I probably would have got an offer around £220,000 despite talk of a 'slow market'.

I feel ripped off. It feels like Connells deliberately gave me incorrect pricing advice to force me into an auction that was not in my best interests, and that IAmSold pressured me into a snap decision against my better judgement to take even lower than the reserve price that I had decided upon.

I lost a lot of money.

I would advise using an estate agent that does not have any vested interest in an auction house (if you can find one) and if possible take independent, pragmatic, advice on pricing, rather than optimistically clinging on to the first valuation -- which was probably pitched high to persuade you to go with that agent in the first fist place.

Do not use IAmSold unless you are looking for a quick cash buyer. There is no need to go for a cash sale unless you have an unmortgageable property or a very short timescale. Fix your reserve price and do not answer the phone to them on the last day of bidding!

As first-time home buyers, we were nervous about the whole process, but Nicholas Jollivet (financial advisor) made it a breeze. Our Connells family was very patience and ability to explain every step ensured we felt comfortable and informed.

The Warwick Branch were efficient, professional and were both kind and patient when I was very stressed!

I asked for a valuation and a quote for selling my mother’s house in Sittingbourne in Kent in May.
The gentleman who called was polite, and friendly, but there seemed to be an philosophy of sell cheap, sell quick, and their valuation was very low, we achieved a much better price with another agent. I politely told Cornell’s that we were going with another company. Since then, I have been harassed by phone calls from them, and eventually resorted to talking to the manager, and complaining that I had asked my data and contact to be removed from their list several times, which I was advised would happen immediately, and an apology for their behaviour. And here we are again. Today,I was telephoned by Connell in Sittingbourne, to ask about the property, did I want help to find a house etc. Connells of Sittingbourne, please leave me alone, and remove my data.

Fairly disgusted with our treatment by Rayleigh Connells. We mainly had Oliver dealing with our sale and lost two buyers due to lies he told our buyers. One being we may complete prior to the stamp duty changed in April, despite knowing we were buying a new build due to complete on 29th August. I only discovered the lies when I reached out and found my prospective buyers on a social media platform and engaged with them myself. The company has concluded their own complaints procedure and apparently it’s all above board. I wasn’t at all surprised when I saw this firm on Panorama unfortunately. Disgraceful.

Didnt listen to what I wanted from my mortgage, I signed up for free lifetime brokering, then was told I have to pay on remortgage when again, they didnt listen to what I wanted. I had to chase and chase, ask for information that they should have provided. The remortgage was ten times harder than the inita mortgage because of this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Dirty company all about money got people who can't even understand English helping with IT WORK MADE ALL THERE UK STAFF REDUNDANT TO SAVE MONEY LET THEM GO HALF WAY THRU THE YEAR LEFT WITHOUT A JOB EVEN KEPT SOME PEOPLE!!!!

I had a fantastic experience with Connells Wednesbury, especially with Jessica Evans, the Branch Manager. Jessica was professional, friendly, and always went the extra mile to make the whole process smooth and stress-free. She kept me updated at every stage and was always available to answer any questions I had.
It’s rare to find such genuine care and dedication these days, I would highly recommend Jessica and the Connells Wednesbury team to anyone looking for a reliable and supportive estate agent.

The communication left a lot to be desired by the previous manager (Kyran Fielder) of the East Grinstead branch. Had to chase for updates and economical with the truth about time frames. The new branch manager was much better. However as a company I would not rate them. They are too big so no personal communication. They and their recommended solicitors made mistakes ie sending plans of another development in a different county and from eleven years ago! Sending an email from a debit agency when the bill had been paid. No one bothered to check. Letter sent with the incorrect address. Figures in email incorrect. The way Mr Fielder spoke to me on occasions was unprofessional.

Terrible experience with Connells mortgage broker. I paid them £900 first to start and waiting 6 months and nothing happened after 6months.
All the time i was chasing the broker and Lender broaker didn’t respond the emails and calls. I waste my money and 6months time.
I advise people to do not wasting your time and money with connells mortgage broakers.
They get your money first and give you shit service.
I paid £900 and didn’t receive anything from them.
Please don’t waste your time and money with them.

I had the fortunate experience of being attended to by a wonderfully professional young lady, whose name I’m hoping I’m spelling correctly as Katie. She’s with the Ipswich branch. Throughout my association with her I have found her to be nothing but professional, friendly and ever ever so helpful and all served with a radiant smile!

Our mortgage broker Lee Peck was very informative and supportive throughout the process of applying for a mortgage and buying our property. As first time buyers we found his guidance invaluable and it made the whole process a lot less stressful.

Tadgh in the Headington office was very pleasant and efficient. Timely communication, very reliable. Could. to fault the service.

We wnt with this mob as they were such a large company and promised the world. We should have known......
They were utterly useless, incorrectly valued our house by their own admission. Listed it in the branch window for months after telling us we needed to drop the value at the wrong price!!! There was absolutely zero contact from them, we had to chase them. They produced 2 viewings in months. The branch manager was frankly rude and obnoxious, a nightmare to deal with.
I raised a formal complaint, waited weeks for them to finish it. When the outcome arrived they'd ignored everything I said and did nothing.

Don’t waste your money. You can get photographs done and put your property on Rightmove yourself as that’s all this estate agent appears to have done and save yourself thousands in commission on selling. There has been little communication through out the contract period and they have not shown any evidence of being proactive through out. Would I recommend…no
