SCAM Company. I had a very similar experience as others with this company. It's an Enterprise franchise not a subsidiary, and apparently Enterprise has no oversight or quality standards for its franchisees. This company completely ripped me off for almost $2k for a scratch on the bumper. BUYER BEWARE and avoid this company at all cost. Shame on Enterprise for sharing it's name with these criminal fraudsters.

Worst experience of my life renting a car - too may complaints to write down

I had a terrible experience — charged over 1,300 CHF for a minor scratch that wasn’t new. The car had multiple scratches already and I showed proof that no new damage happened during my rental. They ignored the evidence and demanded payment anyway. Be careful — I can’t recommend this company.

Rented a car from Geneva. Rental agent inside airport was very nice and funny telling us “oh this vehicle has lots of scratches.” Haha. Oh and I don’t know where is parked- just click remote until you find it. Took pics in (very dark) parking garage. There were lots of scratches dings but most minor at least by U.S. standards. Returned the car (after driving straight to our Airbnb and parking in private parking garage) and gave keys to agent in little office. He said you’re good and pointed us to shuttle. Got an email this morning (3 weeks later) saying that they found scratches on the front and we were responsible for ~$2000. This is nuts. We didn’t damage the car. We barely drove it. That car was a hot mess when we took it out. This is obviously a scam. Luckily for us our credit card caught it and marked it as fraud. Also lucky for me 3 of my best friends are lawyers one with significant ties to D.C. I will still be speaking with company so they don’t keep trying to erroneously bill me. I also am going to do some digging and file some complaints here in the U.S. and also in the EU.. They are clearly targeting foreign tourists in their scam and it needs to stop.

I, like many others, was scammed at Zurich airport for scratches and windscreen chips which I didn’t cause and were below the fair usage threshold anyway. They charged my credit card for £2300. They don’t reply to emails and there is no Swiss consumer protection body. Fortunately, M&S Money reversed the credit card charges. These fraudsters had 60 days to dispute but didn’t because they know the charges were fraudulent.
DON’T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT. Use a good credit card company and dispute the charges with them.

Their business model is simple: at the end of the rental agreemnt they will find any type of scratch or dent they know is not on the check-out report and charge you for it claiming it was you since you have no way to prove. My advice is take photos of every single inch of your rental vehicle. But to be honest I would avoid them at all costs. They are functioning as a scam. They do not have any single customer support only roadside assistance (and even that is bad). Unfortunately, they are ran independently by a lovcal franchise called Helvetic Motion AG. Global or regional headquarters will wash their hands out of any problem you may have with them. AVOID!!!

A transaction that was suppose to come out of my bank came out twice instead of once so I have been double charged for something and cannot get any communication or refunds on what was taken. Awful, don't use.

Similar experience to everyone - we are in an ongoing dispute , charged the deposit and an additional sum ( total nearly £2000) from a few scratches on roof which we adamantly deny. Took video of the whole car but couldn't reach the roof and it was very dark. After many emails with different people in customer service ( first names and no job title), we are now being threatened with demands for payment by the debt collection company . Has anyone not paid this and what happened? Have contacted consumer protection in Switzerland and the UK international consumer advice, waiting for reply. Of course they are exempt from any EU protection (ECRCS). This company must be stopped.

I have been invoiced 1,600CHF for scratches I haven't made for a booking made on the 6th April. Vehicle was returned in person to one of their agent without issue/notification who afterwards sent me the report 1 hour later adding those scratches on it. I am currently contesting the claim with their customer service; however in parallel they already mandated Debtist company asking me even more now while the case is still open with the customer service.

Scratch they report was already mentioned in the report when i checked-in the car. So far, Entreprise has not been able to provide me with a picture that justified the scratch reported in the checkin is different than the one they report at the checkout. They mention that this is "against their practice".

For now, I can only advice to not book anymore with them or ensure the checkout AND the report being sent to you when you are physically still at the agency.

I returned the car after hours to the Enterprise office on Genferstrasse in Zurich. It was a Saturday afternoon, there was no one in the office and no reply on any of the Enterprise phone numbers. I initially parked the car in front of the office, but then noticed a sign posted inside the glass saying that if a car was deemed to be blocking the adjoining petrol station forecourt, it might incur a charge. So I followed the instructions written there to leave the car in one of the parking spaces on Todistrasse, a nearby street. I subsequently received a parking fine from Zurich police and a demand for a 50 CHF administration fee from Enterprise for passing on my details. Enterprise ignored my reply setting out the circumstances and I have now received a demand for CHF 140 from a debt collection agency. Beware of this company. It appears very different from Enterprise in the UK, which I have never had a problem with. Luckily I have kept all the photographic evidence and am prepared to defend myself.

I rented a car from enterprise in Geneva airport. Very rude staff throughout process. When returning car, no one available to check over car - expected to just drop off keys.
3 months later contacted by debt collector for unpaid bill of 75 CHF. Increased to 200CHF for ‘fees’ No idea what this is for and no communication from enterprise. Avoid this company in Geneva!

Abusive damage charge without valid evidence – beware Geneva airport branch

I rented a car in May 2025 from Enterprise at Geneva Airport (Swiss side). When returning the vehicle, no proper inspection was done with me present — the agent was already dealing with another customer. A few days later, I was charged CHF 1,621 for supposed damage (scratches and dents) that had not been mentioned during return and were not visible in any of the photos they provided.

I had taken my own pictures at pickup: the same areas show no difference. Their photos show glare, rain streaks, and no clear marks — yet they immediately deducted the full deductible from my account, without any meaningful evidence or repair invoice.

After checking online, I found many similar complaints, with identical amounts charged and the same vague process. This seems to be a systematic practice at this specific location.

I’ve filed a formal complaint with Swiss consumer protection agencies (FRC, SECO, SCAV) and am joining other victims in building a collective case.

Avoid this location until these methods are investigated.

I specifically asked and booked a manual car and when we went to collect the car from enterprise/alamo they only had an automatic after waiting an hour just to collect the keys !
Then on return of the vehicle we apparently caused a small white mark on the mirror which we didnt do and they charged us £400. We had full insure but trying to get through to customer service finally is a nightmare when i eventually got through i got told to go through the website to log the claim which i done, only to be emailed back to go through the claims company and do it all again. Absolute waste of time won't be using auto europe or enterprise/ alamo ever again.

Do not trust this car rental company in Zurich. I returned the car in perfect condition and was later billed for imaginary damage with no proof provided. The whole process felt deceptive and targeted.

Customer service was evasive and unhelpful, refusing to give any details or evidence. I’ve rented across Europe and never encountered such shady practices. Stay far away from this company—they’re not honest.

Ik huur regelmatig auto's maar deze keer had ik vanaf het begin al een slecht gevoel. Bij de incheck balie moest ik het schaderaport van de auto tekenen op een tablet. Opmerkelijk, want ik had de auto nog niet gezien. Mij werd verteld dat ik wel moest tekenen, anders kon ik de auto niet meenemen.

Vervolgens wordt je met een bus naar de auto gebracht. Daar moet je weer langs een kantoor. Die geven je de sleutels en weer teken je het een en ander. Let op. Je hebt dan nog steeds de auto niet gezien. Je krijgt het nummer van de parkeerplaats en loopt zelf naar je wagen. Pas daar kun je dan de auto bekijken en checken of het schadeformulier klopt. Hoewel. Dat formulier heb je niet bij je want die heb je eeder al online getekend. Deze wordt naar je gemaild maar niet direct.

Kortom, dit is zeer risicovol. Je kunt natuurlijk foto's maken . De parkeerplaats is echter zo donker als de nacht.

Ze probeerde mij meer dan 650 CHF in rekening te brengen voor een krasje op de velg van nog geen 2 cm. Bezwaar maken is heel moeilijk want je hebt immers getekend voor de schades . Verschrikkelijke manier van handelen!

They are fraudsters. They will say you need insurance. You do not as pre paid. There will be lots of damage not listed at the first desk. The girl in the booth will not know how to do anything - not sure she can even drive as didn’t know how to start the car ! They do not walk round car as they do in every country before you put your card in for deposit. Video everything from the break down triangle to the screwdriver for the the spare wheel. You will be charged around £400 for something missing - like the parcel shelf. Do not use this company - total fraudsters. Do not leave your bags unattended either as thieves target you. The space to return your car is minuscule. The petroleum station is not where it is on sat nav - looks like they have a fuel station registered as a business in the pick up area - obviously another scam.

On arriving home received an entirely unjustified claim for damage. Before leaving I did take photos of tbd outside of the car. But claim was for a tiny scratch on the inside of the door well. Car had over 30,000km of the clock. How many others have they pulled this trick on? Leaves a very bad taste.

Returned the car , all ok...two weeks later get an email saying i had done £350 damage .
i showed them a video i had taken , there was no damage on the car!!!!!
You must take photos and videos in good light conditions to give yourself a chance.also confirm with them that the vehicle is undamaged before you leave

Unfortunately the bad reviews are very real. These people are clearly scamming customers. I dont know if it reflects Enterprise more broadly - i dont think so, this looks like a franchisee, Helvetic Motion AG, equally terrible reviews on Google - but this branch have charged my card for over £1,500 with no explanation, in two amounts and weeks after the return perhaps so as not to draw attention to it. All i received was an email asking me to complete a survey post rental and two PDFs one of which was a blank invoice (as expected since pre paid through Rentalcars) and one with a random line of 1500 + tax which has no description and isnt clear what it pertains to or indeed whether it's being charged or just an advisory of deposit returned (which it wasnt).

Hidden cost charged at the airport. Poor customer service. Long queues. Car booked not available. Non existant complaint handling department. DO NOT USE.
