Shame on the non-emergency line of EMAS
Shame on the non-emergency line. I am an 81 year old ex- RAF woman with health issues living alone on a pension and I was referred to Nottingham City Hospital by Lincoln County Hospital . I was able to have someone drive me there for the pre op assessment but now he is no longer available I asked EMAS for help. Gave them my details and because I don't need an escort (i am able to walk) I was turned down. How can you expect someone of my age on a fixed income with a few health problems to make a 7am appointment in another city by public transport. I can drive but I do not have a car nor do I have any close relatives to take me. I am disgusted.
