Elite Home Warranty sells the dream but delivers a nightmare. They make big promises when you're signing up—fast service, responsive support, and comprehensive coverage—but once they have your money, the story changes completely.
Terrible communication: Good luck getting a straight answer from anyone. Every call gets bounced around, emails go unanswered for days (if ever), and their reps seem more interested in avoiding responsibility than helping.
Service delays: Claims take forever to process, and when they finally send someone, it’s either the wrong contractor or a no-show. Repairs that should take days drag on for weeks or even months.
Fine print traps: They’re experts at finding loopholes to deny claims. Things you were assured would be covered are suddenly “not eligible” due to some hidden clause. It feels like a scam.
Do yourself a favor: don’t waste your time or money. Elite Home Warranty is anything but elite.
Elite, NOT!
I would not recommend Elite Home Warranty.
Calls go unreturned, hold times are incredibly long and often disconnect, and their “concierge” service is far from top-tier. Service providers lack a direct line to approvals, as they’re in the same customer queue, which slows everything down.
Even worse, Elite failed to notify my assigned service provider of the scheduled date. That delay was on them, yet they offered no flexibility or accountability. Approvals for simple work take 24–48 hours, which is unacceptable.
After 15 months of a 3-year plan I purchased for $1,650, I requested cancellation. Instead of processing it, they told me to wait for someone from a “cancellation department” to call. Based on the contract, I’m owed $1,032.43 (21 months prorated plus the $70 copay I paid). I'm still waiting for the alleged "cancellation department to return my call after I conveyed to Valerie Diaz (rep I thought was processing my cancellation) that I have no problem writing and expressing my discontent.
Save yourself the time, stress, and money. This company is not delivering the service they advertise.

IF I COULD GIVE THE COMPANY A MINUS 5 I WOULD. I'VE NEVER SPOKEN TO MORE RUDE PEOPLE IN MY LIFE. I'M TOLD THAT A REFUND CHECK WOULD BE SENT IN 5 WEEKS, HOWEVER I'VE NEVER SEEN ONE TO DATE AND THAT WAS 5 WEEKS AGO.......ALSO THE ARROGANCE WAS OVERWHELMING LIKE THEY WERE DOING ME A FAVOR WHEN IT WAS MY MONEY THAT PURCHASED THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY. NOT TO MENTION THAT IT ALSO TOOK TWO DAYS TO GET THROUGH TO ANYONE. THE PHONES ARE A JOKE FOR THE EXTREME WAIT TIMES!

Stay away from this company at all costs. I have been with this company approximately 13 months and have another 12 to go due to the price of the extra year being cheaper. I have had 2 claims, one being at hot water heater (12 years of age) and the other a refrigerator. The H/W heater tec they sent said it was shot and sent in the necessary issues. EHW responded back in 4 days and said according to there 39-page contract they would only pay 750.00 toward a new one and it was up to me to have it installed. It took from 03/26/25 to 06/25/25 for me to receive my check. I must have called 10 times to ask where it was. The same thing occurred with my refrigerator on 06/23/25 They sent some jack leg out to see why my refrigerator was not cooling at times and the ice and water not working at times as well. 4 days later they respond that he sent back the compressor bad due to a refrigerant line leaking. I told EHW not sure how he diagnosed that problem since the refrigerator started working fine for the last days. EHW related if I wanted another person look at it, they would reopen the ticket and see if it might be covered. The 2nd service person I called diagnosed the issue with the front board or rear electronic board. Front board operates the ice & water and rear board control everything. EHW sent me the front board and related they would cover the cost of installing it. I paid to have it installed, and I ended up covering the rear board myself. EHW agreed to pay total of $250.00 toward the repair. Having to call again to see where my $250.00 check is. They always say it 45 business days to receive a check. Let's hope it's not another 3 months to be reimbursed as the hot water heater. Folks, if you are searching for a home warranty company, I would highly recommend that you stray from this company.
I called in an AC problem
I called in an AC problem. The technician found the blower wheel separated inside the housing and caused damage to the blower motor…. All internal issues
Elite response was “lack of proper maintenance” which is false plus it’s an internal part not accessible to regular inspection.
The technician didn’t find or state any maintenance issues… just a part that broke.
Elites response was all BS so not to pay for repairs … not trust worthy, no reason to have Elite Home Warranty.

I purchased this home warranty last year when the previous warranty was about to expire that the seller of the home I brought purchased for me..I chose this company because the ratings stated that they are supposedly the #1 warranty company in the world...THIS WAS COMPLETELY FALSE ADVERTISING.
My washer stopped working in May I filed a claim May 12th 2025, I paid the $70.00 claim filing fee and was told a vendor in my area would call within 24-48 hours, 72 hours with no response RED 🚩#1. I called them back and had the request escalated.. A vendor contacted me and an appointment was scheduled for Saturday May 17th, the Vendor contacted me and wanted to reschedule due to the storms we had that knocked out power, no problem I rescheduled for Monday May 19th.. The vendor comes and does his inspection to advise me that the part for my washer that was only 4 years old was no longer available and that he would let Elite Home Warranty know so a decision could be made, the vendor and myself made several attempts to contact the claims department after 3-4 of time calling Elite Home Warranty they informed me what the Vendor had already stated that the part I needed was discontinued and someone from underwriting would call me back... May 26th (which was Memorial Day) I get a phone call stating that my claim was approved and they offered $500.00 for a replacement which I accepted.. I was told that the claim payout would take 45 Business days( no weekends or holidays). (YA'LL DO THE MATH) I let time go by before I started calling the middle of July to confirm there would be no issues and the method of payment. I was told a check would be issued July 31st..Everytime I called they could not offer a check # Red 🚩🚩#2. I called August 1st and was told that the check did not get mailed out on July 31st due to weather and the post office but I was guaranteed that the check was being sent out that day and I should have by August 11th, I called August 11th again no check # could be provided Red 🚩🚩🚩#3 if the check was issued why can't a check # not be given to me... I was offered the option of ACH on August 11th on that call (which I accepted) and was advised by the agent that they had just started back issuing claim payments by ACH.I provided my banking information 2x that week and I have made 6 phone calls this week requesting a supervisor call me and I still have yet to speak with a supervisor. I filed a complaint with the BBB & I am in the process of contacting the Attorney General..... DO NOT do BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A SCAM & RIP OFF....Let's see if I get a response NOW since no one from the company can give me a straight answer and this is me being on HOLD 45 minutes or more each time I call with no results. They are using the health insurance play book and kicking claims done the road and finally refusing to pay. Obviously only worried about the bottom line and making as much money off home owners as possible while not caring or wanting to help us …and I’m sure someone is getting a big bonus for the denials

Terrible, horrible, ridiculous. Don't buy into this warranty. They took an entire month to get back to me quoting from the warranty that excluded my claim.
Refused refund after cancellation/Poor customer service
I had a very disappointing experience with Elite Home Warranty. I canceled my policy within the allowed timeframe and was assured I would receive a refund for the unused portion of the coverage. Despite multiple follow-ups and promises from their representatives, Elite has refused to issue the refund I am owed.
Customer service has been unhelpful, evasive, and in some cases completely non-responsive. Each time I contacted them, I was put on an endless hold, and given inconsistent answers. It's been months with no resolution.
I chose Elite based on positive reviews, but this experience has shown a lack of integrity and accountability. I expected better from a company that advertises trust and transparency. I'm now forced to escalate this issue through formal complaints.
I do NOT recommend this company and would urge others to be very cautious before signing up. If a company won't honor a cancellation policy or basic customer service, it raises serious concerns about how they handle claims or long-term support.

Well it all is great until you have a claim! I had a plumbing leak inside a wall, it took them 5 days to get someone out, so of course my floor is ruined. The plumber said it was probably a shower pan leak, so we’d have to take that out, which isn’t covered. But that wasn’t even correct, the leak was in the wall, I found it myself by taking off the baseboards. So then I immediately got someone out of my choosing on a Sunday, which cost me $1000. They said they would cover $400 of it, I should get a check in 60-90 days. Well here we are 5 months later and no check and nobody will tell me whats going on. So I cancelled today. Not a good company at all.

If I could give a minus to all 50 states I would. This company should be behind the jail and under ground!!! Nothing but liars and scammers. They were suppose to reimburse me and I have received nothing. They tried to send a "D" rated company to do repairs and I chose a different company. After several calls and promises. Nothing. I hate to say it, the rating on BBB is all a lie. Turn this company into your Attorney General.
Scammy - Waste of time and money!
Scammy. After dragging me for 4 months for an oven failure they told me that for claims that were opened in the first 90 days maximum coverage is $300... I opened the claim 60 days in the policy and now it is more that half way in... They are super slow to adress claims and wasting a lot of time and efford co-ordinating for them just to return me $71 and a non working oven. I even paid $70 to open the claim and an $850 policy... Scam Scam Scam...
Ridiculous Delayed Service and Cumbersome Process When Technician Actually Arrived
I called with my first claim last Monday for a broken garbage disposal. They told me I would hear back within 24-48 hours on who they assign to repair it. By Thursday, I'd heard nothing at all. I called back, waited 45 minutes to talk to someone (they do not have a call-back feature to keep you in queue; you have to stay on hold), and was told they hadn't "found" a repair technician yet. I was shocked. Even American Home Shield, which we had for many years until their service began to wane, was always able to have a disposal repair person sent out within 24 hours for such a simple task. After calling again on Friday and at least one escalation on the Elite Warranty side, I received a call late on Friday that they'd found someone to come out on Saturday. The technician arrives on Saturday, takes one look and says the disposal needs to be replaced. Fine, we've had them wear out and replaced by home warranty before under AHS. However, unlike every one of our experiences with AHS where they'd always send someone with a replacement available on his truck, this technician says he has to go back to Elite Home Warranty to ask if they'll cover the replacement. IF???? How is this a question? The warranty agreement says they will either fix or replace a covered broken appliance. The disposal is covered. The technician says he'll have to wait for Elite to let him know, and IF they say yes, he can come back on Monday or Tuesday. IF that actually happens, I'll have had to wait a full week for a simple repair that should have been done on a weekday this past week.

Filed my first claim in First week of May and they couldn’t help me because it was the weekend and then during the week they couldn’t find anyone. When the did, it was a person and not a professional. They allowed me to use my own professional but said the max was $500. Then they would reimburse via check and after multiple calls and almost 3 months, I have still not received the reimbursement. The last call I was told that the routing number wasn’t correct by 1 number. My experience with Elite Home Warranty has been very disappointing.

It would be less than a zero if that were an option. The company in my opinion is a complete scam. I purchased a 5 year policy based on promises of "repair or replace" and the "best customer service". I received everything but. The first repair service, an AC repair, cost me $7,500 of which EHW negotiated with me to only pay $750, i covered the balance. Second repair, another AC unit, they tried to do the same thing, but went to $850 of $7,500 but then never sent the check. The last and final straw, a dishwasher went bad, after taking another $70 claim fee, never sent a technician and three weeks later I had it replaced on my own for $1,250. When calling to cancel the remaining 4 years on my agreement, they offered to pay $350 towards the replacement of the dishwasher and sendvthe past due $850. Save your money, find another company or do anything but waste your valuable time and hard earned money on Elite Home Warranty. Each call is 40 minutes or more. Each claim is a headache and more trouble than just dealing with it on your own.
Started out Good but it's terrible now
Update as of October 2025. I still have not received payment of $300 from MARCH. Their phones now go to an automated message saying they are having operations problems. They've been telling me for 2 months their banking system is down. What legit business can't access their bank accounts for 2 months?? I think they are in financial trouble and cannot pay claims. DO NOT PURCHASE A WARRANTY WITH ELITE.

I purchased Elite in May of 2024 when I first bought my home, based on good reviews. My AC went out literally within the second week that we moved in. At first they sent someone out who said it just needed cleaned and I had to pay for that out of pocket. This person was totally unprofessional and didn't even check all of the things that I asked them to check. It took getting two separate inspections to get to the root of the problem and find out that it was a bigger issue. unfortunately they did not cover the AC because the system was a mismatch of parts and it was chalked up to poor installation, so i had to shell out 10k for a new hvac. I was disappointed but I read the paperwork and it aligned with their contract. Next my washer quit working. They try to send the first AC person out who had wasted my time and money and was not professional to fix the washer and I refuse to have them as the contractor . They did allow me to choose a different contractor had them come out to try to replace it but it was too old to get the part. After it was unable to be repaired they finally sent funds to replace it and I was satisfied. Next I had a plumbing issue and was told they would only reimburse me $300. That was in March and I'm still waiting for my check. They changed their reimbursement policy to no longer include direct deposit and now they will not mail you a check until 45 days after your claim has been approved. It's now July and I still don't have a check. My 1-year plan with them is expired and I will not be renewing. The quality of service and reimbursement process has gone downhill. You have to pay a fee for each claim that you make . They've also promised to have an online customer portal for over a year and as far as I know there is still nothing so it makes it difficult to track your claims. You also don't get any email confirmations when you make a phone call or submit an issue. I was shocked to see how low the scores have gotten on here since I first purchased my plan last year but it makes sense.

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Elite Warranty, and I feel compelled to share it so others can be aware. My air conditioner stopped working, so I called Elite for help. I was put on hold for almost 30 minutes, which is incredibly frustrating when you're already hot and in need of assistance.
When I finally got through, the representative told me they'd contact me within 48 hours. This was not acceptable since it was over 90°F in my house, so I explained I couldn’t wait that long. The response was essentially that this is how they process service requests—no flexibility or urgency.
In the meantime, I decided to call a local A/C technician, who came out, added freon, and informed me that the A/C had a leak in the coil. The repair estimate was $1900, and I had to pay $215 out-of-pocket for the freon right away. When I contacted Elite again to ask if they would cover any of this, I was told that leaks are not covered under their warranty, but they would submit the invoice for the freon to see if they could reimburse some of the cost.
I felt there was no point in continuing with Elite Warranty if they wouldn’t cover anything significant, so I requested to cancel my service. However, they charged my card again, and when I asked for a refund, they refused. I’ve now had to file a dispute with my bank just to get my money back.
In short, I am extremely disappointed with Elite Warranty. Their customer service was poor, their coverage didn’t help in my situation, and they refused to honor a simple refund request. I won’t be using them again and would not recommend their service to anyone.

I want to alert fellow contractors about an unfortunate experience I had with Elite Home Warranty. They approved a repair job and I completed the work in good faith, following all their procedures and documentation requirements.
However, they failed to pay for the work as promised, despite multiple follow-ups and confirmed approval.
This kind of unethical behavior can hurt small businesses and honest tradespeople like us. I’m sharing this so others don’t fall into the same trap. Be cautious when dealing with Elite Home Warranty. Get everything in writing, and consider avoiding any agreements unless payment is fully secured upfront.
Elite Home Warranty model is the run-around
The EHW model is just to wear people out.
I've now been on the phone for 40 minutes, and it's told me multiple times that they are "experiencing high call volume". They don't highlight this, obviously, but in their contract, their payout can be "up to 45 days" if that's the case and they don't have a website to log in to as a customer and forget about sending them an email! I've never been on hold for less than 45 minutes. I just call, plug my phone in, and let it go. Sometimes it hangs up at an hour or so, and I just call back.
In any case they are just scamming people and it pisses me off a little that I looked at BBB website as I often do to get an idea of what a company has going on with consumers and they still have Elite VERY highly rated which is just not accurate!!
In any case, their reply back to BBB was that they had 45 days, which would be June 6. It's now the 17th, and there's NO WAY they have sent a check, though I'm trying to get someone there to actually tell me that.
My friend down the hall has been getting the run around for months where they are actually telling her different check numbers that have been sent. Elite is a TOTAL SCAM and I am not going to let up. BBB is specifically supposed to protect consumers from exactly this situation. They have found a way to screw people with totally legal and unethical methods to wear consumers out and add so much time for payment and fatigue from calling that people just give up.
