Have to use this piece of rubbish many times. It's not intuitive, gets you to pretend certain things, or gets you to go to A@E. The developers must use private health care, cos this is dog s**t.
It’s really a filter system. It saves no time what’s so ever. Because if you do get an appointment and it’s either not ideal or you have to cancel it. The call Waite times are so long you eventually h... Se mere

Simply not fit for purpose

Complete and utter rubbish..yet another stalling tactic..the online form is long winded and irrelevant.. couple of years ago it was Push Doctor and now this toot... this is just another stupid idea to avoid or delay answering the phone.. submitted a request today only to be told I'd get an email back by 6.30 pm on Monday...84 hours later.. thinking up these new-fangled schemes isn't addressing the fundamental problem..all people want is the surgery to answer the telephone and book an appointment in!
Don't bother
I tried to log in to my GP this morning.
The eConsult page is supposed to open at 0700. It just says more appointments will be available at 0700 tomorrow.
It does'nt seem to work
It does'nt seem to work. I requested a sick not over 3 weeks ago and to date have not heard from anyone.
Time for action on econsult !
The government needs to step in and cancel the contract that the NHS has with this company before millions of people give up with this useless system to make appointments to see your GP.
The old system was flawed and slow but at least you could speak to a human being if you rang your surgery.
No wonder everyone is going private.
Something has to be done before scores of our elderly population give up and pass away.
It’s actually a scandal how the British tax paying public is being treated by this pathetic online consultation company.

I have never been subject to such an impersonal use of time and stupid questions.
If I call the surgery I would like to speak to my GP not a computer.
I won't be using it.

Absolutely horrified by the fact it took 25min to complete form! How is this a booking system? How does one get appointment for routine ongoing difficulties? How can someone witness mental health difficulties navigate this system? How can the elderly manage this? I have clients at the mental health cafe complaining How they don't know how to use this system and are unable to see their doctors. Who's the idiot that came up with this system and actually thought it was a great idea?
lol.does not work
lol. Got an excited but peremptory text from surgery (Harvey House St Albans) telling me all appointments shd now be made via Econsult.
I needed a routine appt with a nurse ( fr a longterm condition I hve been having injections for fr 20 yrs). SO--as it said all appointments - went onto E consult...impossible to do..got on the track to Dootrs appts ok..but did not need diagnosis (all done years ago )- so looked fo nurse appts...no link.
Rang up..was in queue of 17.
Gave up.Went in next day.
Receptionist did app by hand. Then she asked nurse fro advice & they said I shd look on Econsult for administrative help.
Wanted to sort this out for next time..so tried what they suggested. Just as hopeless.
Rang later & turned out they were now saying all routine long term care stuff should be done via receptionists.
Hah ..so this much vaunted Econsult cannot deal with routine nurse appts..a fair percentage of this surgery's work I would say.
SO did some sleuthing about EConsult..tacky looking enterprise called Gresham House Ventures which has got £7million out of primary care for this..& they actually boast that 70% of applications do not end in a face-to - face-appt.i.e. 7 out of 10 people who think they'd like to see a doctor are prevented from doing so. Great.
Am now mulling over asking Guardian if they've a journalist keeping an eye on all this.
It's like Horizon..a poorly tested flawed software programme inflicted on a helpless public
Rubbish
Rubbish! Asks questions not relevant to your illness like do you drink or smoke and there’s no option to ask for a follow up appointment. I needed the doctor to actually see my ailment and was offered a phone call appointment with a different doctor, no options regarding time or date and no option to change. I called my surgery who said the econsult closes at 11am and I’d either have to resubmit again the next day or see a different doctor in a different surgery!
Absolutely shocking how being treated…
Absolutely shocking how being treated by this e consulto system by trying helping by asking question I don’t know i have to answer questions like I'm trying to pass test to become any doctor or engineer
Instead trying helping people with pain and problems they have
And this is like asking ChatGTP

E consult system needs reviewing
Usually I have rated e consult excellent but on this occasion not so good. I used the system this week. I explained the visible symptoms, what common sense action I had been taking over several weeks and where asked what was the action I required was "advice". I received a same day reply asking me to book a face to face appointment. The earliest was mid March. So in the meantime one is left to try and self diagnose. The problem being that over the counter meds conflict with current meds for other health issues including atorvastatin. What I think the problem may be also connects to diabetes. So I'm left in limbo - the e consult is not available over the weekend, so I will have to wait until Monday ( not long but my point is really that e consult is non existent on weekends where I live, which I regard as unacceptable).
What concerns me is that having asked for "advice", a doctor or nurse should have at least phoned me to talk it through, especially with my issue having been there for several weeks already and then having to wait a further 3-4 weeks for an examination. Plus my surgery knows I have several other ailments for which I have received treatment for a number of years.
So hopefully on Monday I will receive immediate attention. I regard it as my right to insist.
In writing this review, my concern is that others may find themselves in this situation and they should not hesitate to get back to their surgery and ask for immediate advice.
I am a pensioner who is aware of the need to keep as healthy as possible and on this occasion i won't hesitate to follow up my concerns in a polite and proper manner.
Furthermore, I hope that my contribution helps, along with others, to enable such concerns to be followed up with improvements to the e consult option made.
Extremely efficient use of everyone's time
Using eConsult was an efficient use of my time and of the GP Practice.
I received a response within 5 hours of completing the online form on day 1. I had a face-to-face appointment at the Practice the following morning. The outcome of that appointment was a prescription was able to be fulfilled on day 2 and I was seen in hospital outpatient clinic on day 3 following referral under the 2 week urgent pathway rule.
I couldn't even get past the first step!
This time I couldn't even find my GP practice in the opening window! The questionnaire is full of irrelevant questions. We need to be able to access helpful human beings! And then when I tried to put in the date of the review, it wouldn't let me... Something wrong somewhere!
Worse than unhelpful
Having to ring up & deal with unhelpful & stressed staff was bad enough for my anxiety, I can't even begin to fill in a form about my illness & describe my problems, the experience brought me to tears & a panic attack. I need a human being that I trust to speak to. I have basically been left without access to medical care for the foreseeable future.
Dreadful have to wait 48 hours for…
Dreadful have to wait 48 hours for medication when you feel dreadful. Many older people can’t use it so don’t go to the doctor
Form wasn’t working online then didn’t hear back anyway
I tried to complete the e consult form on my computer which I had to do several times as it kept crashing before completing. Still didn’t work so I completed it on my phone eventually and it went through. I was told I would receive a phone call from doctors within 48 hours and it’s now been 72 hours and still nothing. Waste of time
This application is cumbersome
This application is cumbersome, not user friendly and totally impractical. The questions asked are repetitive and quite often do not relate at all to the original request.
