Helpful and Friendly Employees

Everyone from this company from the person who took my initial call, drop off, questions and pickup were so helpful and friendly. I would definitely use them again if I needed to move a large amount of stuff a long distance. Nothing was scratched, damaged or missing either. Everything was exactly how we packed initially!

This company did everything they said they would do in a timely and efficient manner!

I started with customer service who provided me with a quote/agreement. The containers were delivered and picked up in the stated time frame and trucked to our new city and stored for several weeks. A delivery date was set and they were waiting for us when we arrived. None of our furnishings were damaged. The price and customer service was exceptional. They were in contact with me the entire time. I highly recommend this company to everyone.

fair price easy to access

I thought everything was great except toward the end they started to raise the agreed upon price. There was no expiration date on my contract but the price was pretty good so I did not complain. Although I think I should have

Efficient, Skilled, Friendly, and with Competitive Pricing

I can only speak for the ordering, delivery, pickup, and billing. My items are still in storage so I have not needed to visit my stuff nor have it delivered back to me yet. That said, the ordering process was easy, the pricing was competitive, the delivery guy and the pickup guy did an excellent job of navigating a difficult driveway, both drivers were very conscientious and friendly, and the billing and autopay process has worked fine. I had originally researched and then contacted two other competitors, but wasn't all that impressed. I would recommend Door to Door.

Sarena needs additional customer service training

2nd time using Door to Door. Great experience all the way around until you speak to Sarena in customer service. She has a harsh tone and very matter of fact. I had an issue with something I was told by my local office and Sarena seemed to know that I was never told that. She wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor either. I finally gave up. She clearly was up for an argument. I was never able to get the issue resolved.

You get what you pay for

I used Door to Door from my move from Philadelphia to San Francisco from June to August 2015. The pick-up phase of the move in Philadelphia went flawlessly, but the delivery and customer service spiraled down from there. In mid July I called to schedule my delivery and waited at least half an hour on hold each time, never reaching a human being. Frustrated, I called my sales representative, Morgan Rosales, who promised to schedule my delivery for August 1. He did not. When my crate did not show up August 1, I called to find out that there was not delivery scheduled. I had to wait an extra week for my stuff. To add insult to injury, I received a bill for an extra month of storage because of the extra week it took to make my delivery. In August and September, I called at least a dozen times to try to talk to a customer service representative, waited on hold for between 5 minutes and 1 hour each time, never speaking to a human being. The major problem was the the Door to Door phone system had no capability to tell you how long your wait would be or even if there was anyone in the office to answer at all, and there was not messaging system. I also emailed customer service twice and never heard back. I finally reached someone in October who told me that there was no financial discount that Door to Door was willing to provide me for my inconvenience and time. This is a classic case of "you get what you pay for." If you can afford to use one of the other companies, you should.

Don't Do Business with These Guys

Do not do business with these guys. A couple of months we put most of our belongings in storage with D2D while we staged our house for sale. That was the quickest way to get everything done. Plan was once in escrow, retrieve our stuff, sell what we're not taking, hire movers, etc.

First on the front end, I could not be home to have the storage units delivered. So they sent me a waiver form that said they could deliver the containers without me having to be there. I signed it and faxed it back. On delivery day, I get a call about an hour before delivery time - it's the driver calling to confirm that I will be home to receive the containers. So now I have to scramble and take the time to get this straightened out. Took about two hours, and I didn't have to go home, but I had to rearrange some things in my day.

I really would have forgotten about this as not a big deal if not for the next set of issues. Now my house is in escrow and I have to be out of here on July 15. I called D2D within an hour of getting this information. They told me the earliest they could deliver my stuff is July 6. That gives us just 9 days to get it together and do what we need to do. Movers will need to inventory our stuff to give us an estimate, etc., and I'm not even sure I can get a mover lined up on such short notice, especially since we were going to get a few bids.

The D2D rep suggested that I rent a truck, drive out to their storage facility and unload the stuff myself, and they would waive the fee they usually charge for allowing people to do this. If I was going to do that, I would have rented a truck at the beginning of this process and rented a storage unit for much less than it is costing me to do business with these folks.

The rep said she would call me back and see if she could help. She called back, no help, we're stuck with this. If the sales rep had told me at the beginning that it would take 3 weeks to retrieve our stuff while we were on deadline in escrow, I would not have done business with this company. I didn't ask about that, which is my bad.

So, I get a call from another manager, who says we're stuck with this situation. He offers some explanation about how they lost their contract with the local trucking company after I hired them, and now they're only making deliveries and pickup in my area once a weak, and it's always full. I email back my initial sales rep, who tells me they lost that trucking contract before I ever hired them. Either the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, or someone is lying. They should decide on one story.

Then I get a call from the CFO, who again explains how they can't meet my deadline, suggests I rent a truck, etc. I agree to do that. He gives me a number to call at the warehouse to arrange for my stuff to be ready when I arrive to pick it up.

I call that number, leave a message. No return call. I leave several messages,. Nobody calls. Two days go by. So I call the initial manager I talked to. I get a nondescript voicemail message without any identifying info about who's phone it is "the number you have called..." Then it says the voicemail is full and not taking messages.

So I call the CFO's number. Same nondescript voicemail message..."the number you have called..."

Now I'm thinking this "company" is half-a-dozen people in a boiler room someplace.

So I call the 800-number on the web site and get a service rep on the phone, explain to her thatI need to pick up my stuff and haven't been able to reach anyone at the numbers that the CFO gave me.

She says, "Oh, I can take care of that," and in about a minute or so we're done. Why none of the previous managers I spoke to, including the CFO, didn't tell me to do that, and completely misdirected me, is a total mystery. Is it possible that in a company of just 200 people (I looked them up), that management doesn't know how things work?

Eventually, I hired a truck for about $100 and was able to retrieve my stuff.

This company has serious issues. I used to write about business for a living. The ground is littered with the corpses of companies that operate this way. I don't expect them to be around very long. I went and read the Yelp reviews (which I should have done before hiring them), and there are lots of unhappy people who had bad experiences with this company. So, do not do business with these guys.

Great Experience

I shopped around a bit looking for options to move our things to another state. From my first phone call to having our empty container picked up from our new home, I received great customer service. Everything was carefully explained to me and my questions were answered respectfully. if I ever have need of this service again, I wouldn't hesitate to use Door To Door.

Extremely convenient and great customer service!

With an out-of-state student, Door to Door Storage provides an easy solution to the summer storage dilemma for a college student. Storage unit delivery to Univ. of Miami residence parking lot in the spring and drop off to another Univ. of Miami residence in August makes move-out and move-in easy. Multiple day pod availability allows for flexible timing in moving in and out as well as coordination with roommates for sharing a storage unit. Customer service has been fantastic with communication and addressing questions. We have used Door to Door three summers straight with no regrets!

No problems

I had a great experience with Door-to-Door! I loved my representative Marsha. She gave me a great deal to move from LA to Orlando using the one bedroom storage pod. I would definitely use them again. Cost me $1950 to move all my furniture and one bedroom: sleigh bed, dresser, entertainment center, 40 in Samsung tv, bed side table, and a LOT of clothes and miscellaneous items

Terrible service

Problems on front end of move, middle of move and end of move. Door to Door contracts with all external companies for loading, driving and storing. This caused many problems. Set up pick up date for early morning and movers did not show up until afternoon. No one called to let us know (no doubt because it was a contracted job). Set a date to drop off pods at our new apartment, I called a few days prior to that date because I had not heard anything. Was told they could not move on our pre-arranged date (they stored our pods with one company and contracted with another company for transport). Apparently they were awful at their one job which was communicating the scheduled dates with the contracted movers. Was told that I could rent a Uhaul and pack the items from the pods from he storage facility but that the storage company could not accommodate that on he weekend (we were moving in on a Sunday). Finally got the direct no,bet for the company doting our pods and they agreed to keep our locked pods out so we could get our things. This would all cost us more money and we had already paid Door to Door. I basically did all the work that the consultant from Door to Door was supposed to do. We were only refunded $300, the extra driving, renting a Uhaul, and my time was worth far more. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

Great customer service

Very nice people. They explained all the options to me and helped me choose what would be best for me. The prices are very reasonable compared to other companies.

Move from Seattle, storage and drop-off in San Francisco was seamless!

We loved our door-to-door experience!
- Great customer service!
- They answered every question, and then some.
- They were patient and flexible as our plans flexed.
- The container was well-constructed and wood, which kept our belongings dry and mold-free.
- The drop-off, pickup, move, storage and then final drop-off was extremely professionally handled. Each leg was on-time and went without a hitch.
- Our belongings arrived in perfect shape.
-Lastly, GREAT PRICE!!

I highly recommend Door-to-Door Storage. A big thank you to them for helping to take some of the stress out of our move.
