I have just been scammed by Desertcart. They accept orders for items they cannot deliver. I was informed that my order was lost, and without my consent, I was signed up for a Pro membership. An amount of AED 699 was deducted from my card, even though I had explicitly told them that I would never place an order with them again because of pathetic experience I had with them.
When I realized I had been scammed and filed a complaint, they refused to refund the amount. This is fraud and illegal in a country like the UAE. I fail to understand how they are allowed to operate in such a reputable market. They must be investigated for their fraudulent practices.
If I do not receive my refund, I will take legal action to ensure they do not scam others.

I purchased an item for my boss on desert cart and somehow desert cart sneakily signed me up to an annual membership which costs 699 dirhams. They do this by offering you free shipping but the catch is that you are signed up to this PRO membership. I’m usually very wary about such things but it even caught me out. They down right refuse to refund as soon as they have your money, that’s it. This scheme with desert cart isn’t one I have heard of yet so sharing it here to help others out.

Scamming they will take ur money and tell you its pro membership u subscribe even when u didn’t and will direct withdrawn the money and will tell its not refundable

I was surprised to see the item in low price, I verified the item specs. so that I place order, and it shows order under processing, next day morning when I check no item in order and shows some notification that order cancelled, "merchant change the price!" and thank my cash get back.

If you were charged with the Pro Membership and you didn’t authorize it. Contact your bank / credit card company and ask to cancel the transaction.

I ordered a combo pack of 3 things and told they come together and they never. One by one over 3 weeks they come and now trying to take £177 for pro membership. Lucky I’ve spoke to bank and stopped any payment to them. There scammers and defo will not buy off them again

I wanted to follow up regarding the issue of the amount taken from my account. I was surprised to receive a call few days later from the manager of desertcart company, during which we had a detailed discussion about the matter.
After the conversation, I was informed that the resolution would involve returning the amount to me, with deduction due to a previous shipment processed through thier website , truely i recieved 617 dirhams back to my account.
While I still believe the initial action was unjustified, I must say that I found this resolution to be a reasonable and reassuring outcome from thier side.
I advise anyone have had same issue to address it to the them.

Arrived in just a couple of days - easy and quick

Very bad experience. It took them about 2.5 weeks to deliver the item and although I asked them to cancel it and refund me they completely ignored me and continued with the order. I would say don’t ever buy anything from them.

They’ve deducted AED699 from bank account and they don’t want return.

Very bad experience with desert cart. They collected my money & second day I receive email that item out of stock & since 15 days no refund received

They try to sell you a Shipping membership which will make the shipping free, but then subsequently cancel the order and will not return the amount you paid for the membership. The customer service is horrible. Don’t waste your money. You can get better service and a better experience elsewhere. Run away as fast as you

Desert Cart is running a scam! They charged me AED 699 for their Pro Membership without my consent or approval. This unauthorized charge is fraud, plain and simple. When I contacted support, they refused a refund, hiding behind vague, deceptive terms. This behavior is unethical, predatory, and unacceptable. Don’t fall victim to their shady practices. Avoid Desert Cart if you value your money—they cannot be trusted to deal fairly with their customers.

Ordered 2 items. The order was lost then a replacement was arranged for 1 item only. I queried this and didn't get a response. I emailed again for an update on the order, again no response.
I used the online chat and they could only tell me the order has not progressed but they did offer a refund which I have to wait 2-7 days for.
Poor customer service via email and clearly they couldn't fulfill this order but were not proactive in informing me so I can't get a replacement in time for Christmas.

They are crooks. Desertcart buys my products from Amazon and then fraudulently files for refunds. They have done this to me 14 times! That's felony theft and the owner belongs in jail.

Don't support Desercart because you may be receiving stolen goods.

Do not trust these people at Desertcart. What they are doing with the automatic PRO scam is preying on vulnerable consumers and it is not only unethical, it might breach regulatory requirements and consumer conduct practices.
