Sara spent a lot of time looking into my issue when i called on 25 Mar 2026 and she was most helpful and resourceful in trying to find a resolution and explaining the technical issues.

I called and went into a queue. It took one hour and ten minutes to get to a person.
Sara was superb and resolved my query really quickly.
I would be disappointed were I Data Energy that their system is seemingly so woefully under resourced. Especially as from my understanding, they do not maintain a network supplying power, they are rather simply an agency allegedly providing a data management and billing service

We feel it's important to clarify the role we play at the development, as this differs from a traditional energy supplier. The properties are connected to a communal Heat Network, meaning residents do not have individual gas supplies or the option to choose their own provider. Instead, heating and hot water are supplied centrally by the building’s heat supplier, typically the freeholder or building owner.
We, Data Energy, have been appointed, via the managing agents, to provide metering and billing services only. We do not own or operate the network, and we are not an energy supplier. Our role is to administer billing based on the structure, tariffs, and processes agreed with our client.
We’re sorry for the current phone waiting times. Please be assured that our team is working hard to reach every caller as quickly as possible. To help with this, we’ve introduced a new feature that lets you keep your place in the queue without staying on hold - the system will automatically call you back when it’s your turn. This feature is mentioned on the automatic message when customers contact our Customer Care team over the phone.
Our Customer Care team is also available via one of the options below:
- Live Chat: Available on our Help Centre page, within the Residents Hub, Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 4 PM at https://helpcentre.dataenergy.co.uk/hc/en-gb - Our response time is between 5 - 10 minutes.
- Submit an Online Query: Available on our Help Centre page within the Residents Hub at https://helpcentre.dataenergy.co.uk/hc/en-gb/requests/new - Due to the volume of queries our current response time is between 5 - 7 working days.

Taya- fantastic customer service!
Taya was fantastic! I recently relocated to the UK and the process of setting up utilities was proving to be a daunting one. However, Taya explained the process to me patiently and was a tremendous help!!
The only drawback was the 1 hour on hold, but once I was connected to Taya, it was smooth sailing.
