Lovely shop great produce had lunch another look around and then coffee and cake. The cottage pie was not very hot the veg was hard. The little farmers breakfast was very tasty but again not hot and plate was barely warm.

I'm never usually one to complain but £40 for me and 3 teens to eek 30 minutes out of the tulip fest was daylight robbery. A not huge field of tulips to view nearing their end and those available to pick and buy way past their best and a pound a stem. Some photo opportunities and ticket staff seemed slow and disorganised. Worth £5 each at a push. Will try Lifton next year! On top of that, poor service in the cafe. Last time we went there some years back was the sane. Sad but won't be going back on a hurry.

We visited the tulip fest, there was 5 of us at £10 per ticket! £50 in total for what?? It's absolutely beautiful but we were expecting at least some tulips included in that price! Outrageously expensive for what it is!! The food and drink vendors are also pricey, luckily you only need to spend about 20 mins there so aren't there long enough to buy food or drink there!

Really sad, have been a huge fan for years. Visited the tulip festival very poor, food sellers not turned up, and who could blame them. 1 field of tulips, a few bits to have your photo taken with that was it for £10 a person. Went for a coffee in the dog friendly bar, rude staff so we left. Big skip over flowing with rubbish which was blowing around the paths and car park

Not sure who awarded this place all their awards, but it certainly wasn't all the people who wrote these poor reviews, nor the growing number of conscientious people who choose wisely and compassionately what they put in their mouths and bodies.
I went to Darts Farm to buy a take away lunch, thinking I would be in for a treat... the deli bar was full of stodgy meat pies and loads of different cheeses. Cows and sheep pus. YUK.
I asked.if they had any gluten free options. The only choices were steak pie, sausage rolls, cheese and onion pasty, or loads of fish.
Tortured animals. No thanks.

NOT ONE vegan option. And hardly any gluten free.

There is so much meat and cheese in this place, I felt sick thinking how many animals had been tortured and killed to fill their shelves. Obscene and Gross.

With the numbers of celiacs, vegans and vegetarians growing daily, I would have thought a so called "ethical" shop and cafe with as many "awards" as they claim to have, would cater for these growing numbers.

All of it is contributing to trashing the environment.
There is seemingly zero conscience of how horrific and outdated the dairy industry is. Or what the meat industry is doing to the planet.... Yes it is THE LARGEST destroyer of rain forest in the world. And how fishing (TRILLIONS of fish per year!) is destroying the delicate eco system in the ocean (if the ocean dies, we all die!).
And all this is before even considering the (poor) health aspects of eating so much meat and dairy (and gluten). (Costing the NHS a small fortune!)

Where is the ethics? The intelligence?
We are in 2026, guys. Its time to wake up and get pro-active about your choices and how it affects not only you, but other sentient beings, and the effect your choices have on the world around you.

You're not living in a bubble anymore. The truth is in plain sight, for all to see. Open your eyes!

Stop killing innocent animals.
Stop trashing the planet
Its not difficult!

To top it off, a male staff member was unhelpful and wouldn't serve me as he wanted to go home.

I left with a bag of nuts. Really disappointing. Don't believe the hype. This place is in the dark ages. There are many, many, far better, organic shops for conscious vegan and vegetarians all over the country.
This is DEFINITELY NOT one of them!

2Rubbish cafe experiance. Food arrived separately so didn't eat at the same time and it was only toast !!! Coffee was cold and had to be replaced . Drinks turned up 15 minutes before the food. Staff confused about which customers had ordered what items . It was not busy and a sad to watch. If you enjoy watching other members of your party eat whilst you wait for your food , then this is the perfect place for you.

Visited the Tulip Fest, what a rip off, £10 per adult to see tulips growing in a field with very little else.
This would be like a farmer staging cabbage Fest and charging £10 to see them growing with little else offered in exchange for the entry fee.
Darts Farm could have offered complementry refreshments or a bunch of tulips having charged £20 per couple to enter a field.

Rude female staff member

I didn't get the pleasure of getting the staff members name who was extremely rude to me in the farm shop when I was visiting with my dog. I'd asked when I came in if it was ok to bring my service dog in and was told it was fine, I also had lunch in the cafe with no issues, lots of staff made a fuss of Lily and nothing else was said about having her with me. The staff member very slowly for me to understand like I was stupid and asked if I could read! How vile.
Shame I didn't see the reviews before I came, I'll happily take my money elsewhere and most definitely would not recommend visiting!

Went for breakfast which was far more expensive than anything locally yet so average. Bought a few items to go including a small chicken & mushroom pie. It was so bland and tasteless and three times the price of what you could get elsewhere. Great setting but so over rated.

Darts farm more like farts farm, even worzel gummage would look elsewhere blindfolded in a misty day surrounded by ravenous hay bales...

Usually love to visit darts farm but today was horrendous. I thought dogs had restricted access. There were dogs everywhere!
Even the farm table had a large dog in the queue!
You do need to do something about this.

Given my recent experience, I'm not surprised by the catalogue of poor reviews Darts Farm has garnered on Trustpilot.
The glowing produce on offer in the food hall comes at a price, especially when you are over charged at the till. I bought 3 King Oyster Mushrooms and was charged £6.65. Given a similar weight 0.19g - possibly slightly more - is £2.40 in my local oriental supermarket, I was sure something was wrong. Indeed it was. I'd been charged for Hen Woods mushroom instead.
When I raised this with Darts Farm, I the email reply stated that this was an operational error, and they'd like to give me some extra mushrooms on my next visit by way of compensation. No voucher, no process by which this 'compensation' might be made. Given I live in Central Exeter and Darts Farm is outside Topsham, their fake gesture of goodwill is clearly something the management clearly assume they will not be called upon to honour.
It's a level of customer service reflected in other reviews. As I say, I'm not surprised.

Visited Dart Farm Santa with Granddaughter today & we were NOT impressed with the occasion. The Dart Farm Management had allocated Santa’s Grotto to a space in a disused/not needed anymore Hen’s House & Santa was unfortunately past his sell by date. We expect to pay higher than normal prices from an award achieving Farm shop but also require a premium service in ALL departments!!!
Only positive from our visit today was buying a lovely piece of steak from the butchers that we thoroughly enjoyed for our supper.

Hope you do better in the Grotto department 2026?

Will not be returning here for a midweek regular coffee break due to inattentive, indifferent front house staff in the Cow & Cacao coffee shop. Whilst I have been a regular customer of Darts Farm over the last 5 years within the florist and food hall..after recent coffee shop experiences, I will be shopping elsewhere. Most unpleasant experience. Staff require basic training customer services skills.

Eaten here a number of times and food is OK and service not bad. However booking or cancelling a reservation is a nightmare. Also don't try calling them on the phone as no one EVER answers the phone

I aas looking forward to visiting with my assistance dog. He wears a clearly marked harness and lead saying he's an assistance dog. He's small so I carry him in busy places and this also enables him to do his job which is keeping me calm enough to go to places like shops. I
have serious health issues and stress is
definitely not good news. We were challenged 5 times in 30 minutes and
met with looks of total disbelief when I indicated his lead, explained he was an assistance dog and was allowed by law to be there. I was made to feel a liar. I should have realised there may be an issue when I couldn't find any disabled parking spaces. They may well exist but I didn't see them or any signs for them.
Needless to say, feeling definitely not wanted I left without buying anything.

Went there with children for the half-term pumpkin “fun”. Come on Dart’s Farm - charging adults to go into a pathetic display of pumpkins and then more money for the marshmallow toasting etc?!
To cap it all, the pumpkins are sold at inflated prices depending on their size - I couldn’t believe that you actually had your pumpkin measured!
Total rip-off.

This is not a farm shop, in the traditional sense, but more of a glorified food hall, set in a very ordinary retail park. It includes a so-called spa centre and a coffee shop - it's no one's idea of where you would go for that experience. Contrary to popular reviews, the location is not pleasant or picturesque. The staff in the coffee shop were indifferent and inattentive. The food hall is hugely overpriced.

We have been going to Darts Farm for a very very long time. We have always enjoyed looking around the great selection of food, gifts, clothing, plants and everything else they have to offer. Today we had a toasted sandwich each, one portion of chips and 2 coffees.
For this we were charged over £31. There was nothing special about any of this it was edible and drinkable but never worth £31. I will still visit Darts Farm but will not be eating in The Yard restaurant again.

I was very disappointed to find that the
“Artisan” gelato, made on the premises in small quantities, the way it was traditionally made in Italy with local milk from grass-fed cows’ also includes stablisers and emulsifiers, in fact the vanilla version contains 4 different E numbers.
Not exactly traditional in my view.
I guessed this might be the case as there is no mention of ingredients or nutritional information on the website.
