Bad costumer services. The house perfect we really enjoy stay but I left some pair of my daughter shoes. I call next day and next week and the week after and they can not give me an answer. Costumer services is terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also the cleaning services left pieces of glass on the floor under the sofa that my baby found!!!
We have holidayed in Padstow three times each year, for 30 years, staying in cottages for the last 10.
During half term we stayed at Miss Mopseys, Lanadwell St, Padstow PL28 8AN.
Showers that don't work, showers that drip through the electric light in the kitchen, heaters with exposed electrical parts, failing to comply with health and safety law as well as a cottage that is far from clean all for £835.
Covid 19 has not disappeared, and if this is the standard of cleanliness during a pandemic I am aghast to think what it was like before.
Cobwebs in corners of rooms and doorways were prolific. Mold around the bathroom sink and kitchen door handles that were 'sticky' with residue.
The first Sunday was a a trip to Tesco and cleaning the place with antiseptic cleaner. I don't know how long the cleaner stays in each property, but however long it is it is not enough time! Covid 19 is still here! It still sits on surfaces! It needs a thorough deep clean! For cleaning the cottage they charged me £835. As if to compound the lack of Covid 19 protection we also had to purchase hand soap on our trip to Tesco as there was none at all in the cottage.
Even a cleaner cannot clean a wooden toilet seat that has swollen with urine, I apologise for the picture, attached, but you need to know what they are advertising as four star.
The showers still needed repairing, when someone finally arrived to look at them, the advice on the phone was to 'push a towel against the door of the shower' and that the downstairs shower needed repairing and this wouldn't be completed before the end of our stay. This was all following an email, on Sunday, that was replied to on the same day, a telephone call at 0909 on the following day, during which we were told that someone would be with us within two hours. We then received a random text with a housekeepers telephone number, we obviously discounted this as an error, after all we had been told that the on call team would be with us in two hours.
No-one arrived a further two calls were made where I was forced to remind the Cornish Horizons team that we had purchased the holiday from Cornish Horizons, not the home owner, and we expected Cornish Horizons to arrange repair - they didn't.
I remind you, £835 to push a towel against a leaking shower.
It didn't stop the leak it continued to drip through the mains powered smoke detector in the kitchen.
Speaking of danger of electrocution: the mains powered Dimplex heater in the living room has exposed circuitry, so we turned off all heating as we didn't know whether it was safe.
Of course this would have been less of a problem if there had been fuel for the advertised log burner - there was none. There seems to be a view that the customer should drag half a tree from the Midlands should they wish to use the log fire.
This four star accommodation has "H & C" written in ball point pen on the wall above the mold on the bathroom sink, a third of the lamps in the property don't work including the outside light, God help you if you want to go out after dark.
Furthermore, while the law doesn’t state you must install an extractor fan in your bathroom, it is illegal not to have a source of ventilation inside. The extraction in the toilet within the kitchen doesn't work.
In the end we left, we didn't feel safe, we didn't feel it was worth the risk.
A version of this was emailed to Cornish Horizons and their CEO.
They told us it wasn't their issue
Our party arrived at Lamorna st Ives 22-10-23 (LMORNA) 5 star accommodation,
Recently renovated to a high standard our first impression was the property was it looked tired and dirty , on inspection of the house we found these issues, outside areas filthy, food left in cupboards ,dirty fridge ,all toilet seats loose one broken ,tap loose in a bedroom , towel rails and radiators not working correctly. Shower doors not closing properly.
Cornish horizons where contacted and they quickly resolved most of these issues except the for the towel rails and radiators .
The staff were helpful and efficient and kept in touch while they sorted out what they could.
With most problems sorted out satisfactory they offered compensation which we thank them for .
We have stayed at many 5 star places before and in my opinion the contractor who cleaned this property never kept on top of the cleaning or maintenance ignoring the build up of small issues which spoilt our holiday we will not be staying with Cornish horizons again .

The location of the property meant a peaceful holiday, the company offer a good choice of properties and keep you up to date with any new properties and offers
Easy to book accurate description and excellent communications.
The property was presented in great condition, it was extremely clean and tidy. The property felt newly finished and was clearly well looked after. The facilities provided everything we needed, the supply of a travel cot and high chair was very important and it felt as though we were welcome with a toddler and pet rather than begrudgingly accepted. It was a comfortable and enjoyable place to come back to and spend the evening after a day exploring Cornwall. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying there.
The cottage was in a lovely location with beautiful views from the bedroom window. It was warm and comfortable although the dining room and kitchen were a little cramped. We had a lovely break in Padstow which is such a wonderful place to be with an atmosphere that is very special and had a marvellous trip in a Wavemakers boat to see seals and dolphins 5 miles off the coast. We love Padstow!!

Firstly do not book House Martins at Padstow It’s appalling accomadationwe left 2 days early it was that bad ,We complained to Cornish Horizons but there get out is to complain to the owner .I didn’t book it with the owner I booked it with Cornish Horizon they take your money then basically your on your own avoid them at all costs

I would not recommend Cornish Horizons. Stayed at Tremayne House and on arrival the house was unclean - The floor was dirty - hairs on all the downstairs floors; the fridge had not been cleaned; the double bedroom had not been cleaned at all - the previous occupants used bedding still being on, used towels in the corner, empty bottles on the wooden dresser; dirty windows on the inside throughout - looked to be from where a dog had been at the window at the bottom and hand prints etc further up; dirty windowsills throughout; divan in the main bedroom dirty and covered in dog hairs; dirty underwear in the washing basket in the main bedroom.
I spoke to customer service who asked us to leave for a while so the cleaners could return and would phone us when properly cleaned. After 2 hours of waiting and not having received a call, we decided to return anyway. Cleaner had been a done a very basic hoover and tidy round - I had to then start cleaning the property before we unpacked. We are still awaiting that call back.
This house looks like it has not had a proper clean in a very long time, is very run down (broken and filthy sofa, cushions smell awful, previous occupants used cigarette butts outside front and back of property, stains in the kitchen sink, mould in the shower, dirty radiators, broken blinds, cobwebs in every room, edges of every floor and skirting boards have build up of dust/grime - it's a shame photos cannot be added to this site).
Cornish Horizons state on their website you can book with confidence, high quality cottages, that late check in is to allow for a safe level of cleaning - we found they did not fulfil any of these assurances. I have emailed them about this, 4 weeks later am still awaiting a reply!
I am sure Cornish Horizons will post a comment saying they have passed this information on to their cleaning team and the owners, but I booked and paid for this through Cornish Horizons and therefore they have responsibility to ensure the property lives up to expectations - which it absolutely did not.
We were disappointed with the level of comfort at Trembleath Parlour. The fridge didn't work properly and there were no sharp knives, making it necessary to buy ready meals, and the heating was very erratic. (Late September)

Stayed at Lituanica. Nice property, have stayed several times.
On arrival this year, the key wasn't where the instructions from cornish horizons said they would be. They had introduced a key safe and not told us the pin code.
It was 7pm, we tried contacting cornish horizons and their emergency contact, coastal cleaning; via phone, sms and social media.
No response, not even 14 days later despite several contacts from ourselves.
They left us stranded and spoilt our holiday.
Exceptionally poor service from cornish horizons so AVOID AVOID AVOID. They are only interested in the money, not their clients.
All recent reviews are 1* so should tell you everything you need to know.

Clear communication, everything as expected from the booking.
I am extremely dissapointed in Cornish Horizons. The house we booked was advertised as a five star Gold cottage which was reflected in the price. However the house Farmlands in Porthcothan cornwall was very run down and not cleaned properly. Dog hairs were found all over the place even though the property is supposed to be pet free. The outside furniture cushions were not fit to be used as they had big dirtly paw prints all over. There is too much to mention here but suffice to say it in as few sentences as possible. Cornish Horizons passed the buck onto the owner and the owner passed the buck back to them. Needless to say we did not stay in the cottage and they basically do not want to know in regards to a re fund or any form of compensation, Hence had to fork out for somewhere else to stay while losing our money. Its very dissapointing and false advertising for a luxury cottage when it was far from it. Shame on You Cornish Horizons, and shame on the owner of this cottage.

We had a holiday booked through Cornish Horizons from the 3-10th September. The property was very disappointing, very run down, in need of a lot of work, some areas were even dangerous. Three weeks have passed and no-one from the company has had the decency to get back to me. I would not book with Cornish Horizons again.

Perfectly located for the beach and harbour. Bed is comfortable. However the sofa in the lounge area has bits peeling off it and looks grubby and dirty so not very appealing to sit on. Other than that a nice property

Stayed at Sea Reach in Looe - part of the Original Cottages group. A well appointed and managed property only moments away from the sea. It contained just about everything you could need for a stay with family and/or friends - both for inside and outside purposes! All very clean, comfortable and well looked after. Housekeeper/manager very reactive to feedback.
Our recent stay using Cornish Horizons (under the Original Cottages umbrella) was perfect. We stayed in Blueskies on the outskirts of Padstow, enabling us to walk into the town. It was well-appointed, quiet, exceptionally clean and very comfortable.
We were kept informed of the necessary details throughout the run up to the holiday. We have used the company on previous occasions as it has been faultless.
