I've had an excellent experience with Connectd as I transition into advisory work. They do a great job of helping experienced professionals translate their corporate and operational experience into something valuable for founders and startups.

What impressed me most is that they don't just match advisors with opportunities—they actively prepare advisors for the areas where startup environments differ from larger organizations. Their training helps fill knowledge gaps while still leveraging the expertise advisors have built throughout their careers.

Connectd also invests significant effort into growing both sides of the marketplace, bringing in new founders and startups while continuing to develop a strong advisor community. That creates a true win-win: founders gain access to experienced guidance, advisors have meaningful opportunities to contribute, and the overall ecosystem becomes stronger as a result.

I've worked with Connectd for a little over a month now. My advisor is Emily, and she's fantastic.

Originally, we weren't ready to work with Connectd. Emily told us what we'd need to do, she booked and managed follow-up appointments for us, and when the time came, she was able to connect us to advisors who jumped on board within a week and started to transfer our business in ways that would have taken us months to do.

Definitely check Connectd out. They are a great company to have on your business venture. I've met Emily and James in person, and they are the same lovely people you e-meet online. In fact, they are better.

I've also spoken to Harriet, who has supported us with our advisors; everyone is friendly, helpful and wants the best for you.

The title says it all, and I’m sure I’ll echo much of what’s already been said in the 1‑star reviews — but a few points are worth highlighting.
(For context: I signed up for the 2-year Transition to NED Programme.)

- Very aggressive sales tactics. This included outright lying, pressure to purchase through a company (don’t — you'll lose Consumer Rights Act protections), and a stream of spammy follow‑ups about “special prices” and “limited time only” offers.

- For those based in the UK - Their “terms” breach the Consumer Rights Act (CRA). If you ever see their terms before signing up — they’re buried on the website and often deliberately omitted during outreach — you’ll notice they don’t comply with the CRA. This is intentional. Their justification is nonsense; the CRA applies, and their behaviour should raise immediate red flags. Deception is baked into the model.

- Training content is AI‑generated slop — so generic it’s effectively useless. Much of it is either obvious or publicly available.

- Their definition of “startup” is absurdly broad, meaning effectively anything and everything qualifies. There is nil vetting.

- Forget what’s advertised. Once you have paid, engagement will drop to almost nothing. The only proactive outreach I received (aside from a poorly run advisor‑placement process) was an agent aggressively pushing me to introduce them to VCs/PE houses in my network — which I declined.

Although I eventually got my money back, Connectd repeatedly lied during the chargeback process in their attempts to block a refund. Thankfully, the banks (mine and their own) saw through this and forced the chargeback through.

Avoid. This is a business that preys on people navigating an increasingly uncertain employment landscape, selling snake oil while pretending to be your “mate”. They’re not.

The team at Connectd have been helpful so far.
Their support and guidance are crucial for me at this stage.
I was paired with a fractional advisor and I’m looking to continue working with her.
The timely response from the team including the guidance from Harriet is giving me more confidence while I’m looking forward to the next step in terms of brand positioning and growth of my modest fashion brand in London.

My interview with James on Connectd was one of the best professional interactions I've had. What stood out most was how invested he was; he approached the conversation as if it were his own business on the line. Warm, genuinely helpful from the very first minute, and the kind of person who makes you feel like you're in good hands. James sets the standard for what great support looks like. Highly recommend.

We had a great experience working with Connectd and our healthy and beauty CPG go-to-market and digital strategy advisor Celine opportunity to work with Celine. The process was very streamlined and easy and the Connectd team did an excellent job with introductions and helping keeping kick-off meeting on track, etc. Our advisor was well-suited for our needs and provided tremendous value.

I guess you could say that they do what they say on the tin - connections. It's an excellent platform that hosts a great network of tech Founders and Advisers. Connect'd provide value add through in-person networking, training and really high quality mentors. There's a buzz and an energy about this community that's infectious and bang on the money as more of us seek fractional careers.

I’ve had a positive experience with Connectd overall. The training is good, well-structured, and genuinely useful, and the mentors I’ve worked with have been excellent.

My pro bono work through the platform did eventually lead to a paid role, which was a great outcome. That said, it’s worth knowing that you still need to put in a fair amount of your own effort to build a pipeline and find further opportunities. The platform can help, but it isn’t a completely hands-off route to paid work.

More recently, the Connectd team have become more hands-on in helping me use the platform effectively, which I’ve really appreciated. Overall, I’d recommend it, especially if you’re prepared to be proactive and make the most of the support available.

I requested to cancel and asked for a full refund within 24 hours of signing up after realizing the service was not the right fit for me and that I was uncomfortable with how quickly I was pressured to make a payment decision during the sales call.

I never used the service, never logged into the platform, and never participated in the program at all after signing up, as I realized almost immediately that I did not want to move forward with their services. My cancellation request was made well before I received any measurable value from the offering.

I also attempted to resolve the matter directly and politely with Connectd over the course of more than a month, but I feel I was repeatedly given the runaround rather than receiving a clear resolution. I even contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge, but the payment ultimately remained protected.

In my experience, paying more than $4,000 for this service did not deliver value that matched the expectations set during the sales process. I personally do not believe advisory or board-related opportunities should require this level of upfront payment.

What was most concerning to me was how heavily the fine print appears structured to lock customers into paying and staying, even when concerns are raised immediately afterward. In my opinion, companies that are truly confident in the value of their product should not need to rely so heavily on restrictive terms and pressure-based sales tactics.

What has been most disappointing is not just the financial loss, but the feeling that customer concerns were treated as obstacles to manage rather than legitimate issues to resolve fairly and professionally. I made every effort to address this privately and respectfully before escalating the matter publicly.

Given that I requested cancellation almost immediately and attempted to resolve this repeatedly in good faith, I do not believe the company’s response reflects fair or ethical customer business practices.

Great course and great fit and community. Really enjoyed going through the great training material, it is very well designed and have given me confidence in my role.

A great place to gather insights if you're new to the area. I found the training quite light as experienced self-employed person. Nevertheless the mentoring has been invaluable. The network and support on getting me a placement, though it took longer than expected. Has enabled me to get a head start and build a very good understanding of how to progress as a board advisor and fractional executive.
