This is a great piece of software for small businesses that don't have the turnover to justify the HMRC enforced cost of the big name packages. You need a bit more that basic knowledge of Excel but all the information needed is available on the program, just follow the instructions.

As an octogenarian part-time farmer with a small turnover I viewed the looming requirement to use bridging software for VAT returns with some trepidation and had even contemplated deregistering. Having finally steeled myself to make the first return I was relieved and pleasantly surprised at how simple it turned out to be using the app. Setting up the links was simply a matter of carefully following the instructions and everything worked at the first attempt.

We were deciding whether to cancel our VAT registration given the small financial advantage to us for the additional work and cost. This product is delightfully simple but tolerant ... and of course FREE. Decision made and first VAT return now also made - if you currently use Excel, this product is a "no brainer" for you. We have just submitted our first MTD VAT return online using Comsci's Free MTD VAT Bridging Software. What an excellent piece of software. No cruft and and no fuss, does exactly what it says on the tin.

It took a bit of setting up but the documentation is clear and an example is provided. Going forwards this will be a breeze to use.

It just goes to show that there are still good people left in the world! We will definitely be donating.

100PCVATFree bridging software. This is just brilliant to take the data from spreadsheets you already use for managing accounts and submit to HMRC for VAT returns. I've set it up on the first sheet of the annual accounts template spreadsheet, so it is all set up ready to go for each accounting year. It was simple to set up especially as they provide an example template and simple to follow the steps to connect to HMRC, and is simple to run. (I've put short reminder notes on the steps for submission in the spreadsheet but its also easy to follow steps in the instruction guide too.)
I highly recommend this software if you're looking for bridging MTD software rather than a full accounts systems that also does MTD.
I started using it in April 2022.

Smashing little App, has saved my little business from having to jump to an expensive accounting platform.

Excellent Tutorial and easy to use - highly recommended

I only used their 100PcVatFreeBridge free software for filing VAT submissions but it seemed to be very straight forward to use and their approach to the problems seem very simple but thorough. If I was in the market for bespoke software for the science, research or engineering industries I would definitely give them a try.

It does what is says on the tin! As a micro business, I didn't want to spend out money on software or accountants to continue delivering my quarterly VAT returns to HMRC, now it's digital only. The app allows me to do it myself. A little fiddly and could be more user friendly, but it's amazing that this clever app is free!

Love this software, which makes my VAT returns pain-free. I'm not sure how people less geeky than me would find the user experience (app plus spreadsheet) but give it a try.

Excellent and easy to use. Instructional videos are excellent to help you get setup and once you've applied the labels to the cells in one spreadsheet, you just use that as your template for the next one, so you never need to re-set it up.

This app is wonderful. I use Moneysoft Money Manager for my accounts, but the built-in VAT submission tool failed. The 100PcVatFreeBridge fixed the problem and allows me to revert to a simple spreadsheet to keep my books - all I need.
