Where to start, states approx 35cm tall.... Our measures 13.5. Extremely light to hold. Might look like the picture but is nothing like it in reality. our blackbirds would possibly tip it over if landing on the side. Stated 2 to 3 day delivery, ours took six days. Avoid like the plague. Awaiting return details and refund, hopefully.

Waited weeks. Have to keep emailing for anyone to reply. Arrived today, its cheap printed pattern on cheap mat. Not made from wool or handmade as they say on web & advertise. Total rubbish. This company needs investigating by trading standards. Also says on their return page returns are back to China, not London. They don't want people returning goods. No invoice or returns label in packaging. This company needs closing down immediately

Surprised that the hard working and retiring northern artisan took the time to stitch a made in China label into the rucksack

"Hand cast bronze" birdbath was resin, not bronze, and so small the only bird bathing in it is a lady bird. Takes about half an egg cup of water. Described as ideal for blackbirds and robins NO ITS NOT. Scale shown in photos is completely wrong. Total rip off.

This company surely has to be looked in to via Trading Standards. It seems the items they sell are not quite true to description!!
I foolishly ordered a "handpainted lamp made in Yorkshire by a lady retiring due to arthritis". It was supposedly being sent by Royal Mail 48hr service. I ordered it a week ago and Royal Mail have no updates other than that the sender has "sent the item". Contacted Cedarandtin via email and have been told they are waiting for there suppliers to fulfill the order!!! Strange, as the item, again, is allegedly hand painted in a workshop above a canal in Yorkshire!!! It seems this company is a total scam. The lamp is also described as being the size of a coffee mug yet, on a picture provided by a "reviewer", their lamp is much bigger than that as it is sitting next to a mug....which one is it?!? Seems like the only mug here is myself.
I will update the review if I ever recieve the item but, more than likely, will be too busy trying to get Trading Standards to prosecute them for false advertising!!! Don't hold your breath!!!
I will be dealing with my bank to have this payment reversed and encourage all other buyers to do the same. This company needs everyone to stick together and get these scammers closed down. Please, everyone, get intouch with your bank and also with Trading Standards.

Same Products, Different Sob Stories

I don't think these are outright scam websites, but I strongly suspect they use misleading advertising to sell mass-produced products under the guise of handmade goods from individual artisans.

Both Back Road Goods and Cedar & Tin Co sell the same set of four bee blossom decorations for approximately $54, complete with different maker profiles and personal backstories designed to make you feel like you're supporting a genuine individual craftsperson.

Yet the same set of four products is available on AliExpress for approximately $31.28.

Same products. Different names. Different sob stories. Nearly double the price.

The problem isn't simply that they're charging more than AliExpress. Businesses are entitled to make a profit. The problem is presenting seemingly identical products as the handmade work of different individual artisans, using personal stories to encourage customers to believe they're supporting those makers directly.

If these products are mass-produced and resold, customers deserve to know that rather than being sold an appealing story about a craftsperson that may not accurately represent who made the product.

I would strongly recommend reverse-image searching the products and checking AliExpress before buying. Don't rely on the heartwarming stories alone.

Ordered a hand carved from solid wood birdbox, received a cheap nasty resin item. Refund requires posting back to China and from the other reviews seems painful.. "ever been had sucker" seems to sum up this transaction. Thought it was to good to be true. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I put one star as there is no ZERO star available for this company.

On the 10th October I ordered and paid for a birdbath as I had seen
the item advertised on Google and it seemed genuine together with a lovely backstory and a last pour of bronze to manufacture a birdbath.
With delivery the price was £32.96.

The description was a 35cm bronze figure that could hold half a litre of water.

Today the item arrived and it isn't anything like it's description its made of resin is less then 6 inches tall and holds probably 2 tablespoons of water.

What sort of a company takes hard earned money off honourable customers only to behave in such a dishonourable way.

I am not going to waste my time sending the item back.

So for future reference for myself and other potential customers check any company that you are going to spend money on thoroughly before you press 'pay for item' in your basket.

I WAS WELL AND TRULY SCAMMED.

I received what was thought to be a beautifully hand carved bird box as a birthday present only to find a small cheap and tacky resin one.
Imagine how disappointed I was, not to mention the disappointment for the gift giver.
Be warned this company is a scam, and is making money by cheating people of their hard earned money by tricking them into buying what they think are beautifully carved items, by people who are either retiring or have a sob story.
Stay well clear.

The cat mat took over two weeks to come because it’s s*** from China not hand made by an old lady in Scotland but printed massed produced crap was delivered in a tiny bag you could fit in a letter box about 2mm thick. Fuming 😡

The Hedgehog Houses arrived but are not according to the specifications advertised. There is no baffle.
There should be no window cut into the corner which would be behind the baffle.
The houses do not protect the hedgehog from predators or wind.
The roof is not removable to enable cleaning.
These are all points the advert specifies.

Very disappointing. Wish I had read reviews. Fell for the old retiring potter story. Tiny and on very short sticks. Don’t buy from this company

Not as advertised. Fell for the handmade and expensive hedgehog house. If Ted is a real person then his identity has been hi jacked. Cheap and not well made. Could have bought one from Amazon a lot cheaper. Thought I had done my due diligence, UK address expected delivery within 3 days. Now I find after complaining that it came from China. SCAM

The bird house I order was supposed to be cedar wood, it's plastic, load of crap. The inside was full of sharp plastic shards no good for nesting birds I wouldn't recommend them

Beware the adverts! A "handmade, hand carved bird box made from a single piece of wood" - I should have known better but an advert in my news feed and a website that looked legitimate made me think that all was good.

A plastic, low grade item that may look similar from a distance to the picture, on a dark night, without my glasses was eventually delivered. Upon emailing Cedar&Tin to return, I was advised that shipping was at my expense......to Hong Kong "as per out T&C's"

When I went looking for the fabled T&C's, the link to the document doesn't exist on their website. Therefore I am unable to read, comment etc.

Several emails later, a 35% refund was offered and tbh I lost the will to live through embarrassment at my foolishness.

My advise? Avoid Cedar & Tin at all costs.

Really disappointing. Ordered an expensive handmade Hedgehog House, looked well thought out and nicely made. Chap retiring because of arthritis in his hands. The info he gave about making the houses and why they are the shape and construction they are was excellent. I was completely taken in but from further research see this isn’t the only site offering this stuff. Had I received what was advertised I would’ve been happy. This is really horrible! Badly made, cheap materials absolutely nothing to recommend it. How do I get my money back? Have emailed them but no response.

What a load of rubbish I received, should of been 2 hand carved wooden bird boxes, they were plastic mass produced. £35 each and not able to use as gifts. Do Not Buy, a con.

The ads should give you a clue. Old A.I. granny who's accent goes from American to Yorkshire to Irish. The lump of meal it is trying to get you to buy is an old Chinese water music machine available throughout Asia for about $5.
