I rented a car from June 23 to June 30 in Tirana airport, staff inspected and accepted the vehicle but the deposit of 450 EUR has not yet been returned! I contacted support, at first they said they would check, now they don't answer...
UPD: They returned the deposit on September 13th.

Airport in Chania. Car was a wreck, very old with over 100k on the clock, damaged externally and when we drove it the suspension was shocking and the steering completely off. We contacted them and told to bring it back. No apology, very rude and made to feel like we were being difficult. Car we then had was slightly better, still old and a poor condition with the engine light on but told this was fine. Avoid like the plague. Our other party members had other providers for similar price and a much better, newer car.

Avoid this rental company like the plague. The man with blue eyes and the girl with curly hair were shockingly rude and completely unprofessional. Their so-called “service” is a joke. We arrived just 30 minutes late to pick up our car due to a flight delay—only to be told they had given our vehicle to someone else. No warning, no call, no email. Nothing.
Just smug grins and laughter at our expense. This happened during peak season, making it nearly impossible to find another car. We were forced to book last-minute at triple the price. Their behavior was disgraceful, and their lack of accountability is appalling.
Do yourself a favor: steer clear of this company. They don’t care about customers, and they certainly don’t deserve your money!

Marko from the Zagreb office truly made the difference. He was extremely responsive and always ready to help, making the whole process seamless. On top of that, the office offered by far the best prices for the 9-seater we rented. Highly recommended!

Rented for 10 days from Zagreb Airport. Pickup was smooth and Marco and Emir were warm, professional, and very responsive. I’d booked an SUV but was given a new Astra; it drove well.
However, the car had an intermittent “key not recognized”/locking issue. I replaced the key fob battery myself and lost time dealing with it. When discussing damage at return, there was no acknowledgment or goodwill for this inconvenience.
In a German parking garage, the plastic light cover above the tailgate lightly touched a wall, leaving a tiny mark. No paint peel or deformation—just a superficial scuff on plastic. I proactively disclosed it, along with noticing a nearby, subtle pre‑existing damage that wasn’t obvious at pickup. I was still charged the full cost of replacing the entire part despite having full‑coverage insurance.
This felt disproportionate and raised serious concerns about the insurance practices—charging full part replacements for minor cosmetic issues seems like a way to maximize insurance claims. Being honest ended up costing me, which felt unfair. Marco and Emir were great, but I hope the company adopts a transparent, proportional approach to minor damage.

However, I must express my discomfort regarding the situation. The charge for a full part replacement due to a very minor scratch feels unfair, especially since I have been informed that the same part had previous scratches and that similar charges have been collected from other customers before me. This raises serious concerns about the ethics of charging multiple customers the full replacement cost for the same part, potentially several times over.
Frankly, this makes me feel like I am being taken advantage of, and it is disappointing to be part of such a practice. I believe insurance companies should investigate such cases, as it is not right for rental companies to repeatedly profit from the same minor damage. In this case, it seems the rental company may have collected the cost of the same part multiple times, which is not ethical.
I kindly ask you to review this situation thoroughly and consider whether such repeated charges are justified and in line with fair business practices. I would appreciate your feedback on how such cases are handled and what measures are in place to prevent abuse.

Cargini desk in Santorini is just 2 minutes walking far from the airport exit and this is already a good reason to rent from them. The car was clean, check-in operations were very easy, and the receptionist was very kind. Another good reason to choose Cargini is that it accepts Debit card. Although I had an incident, check-out operations were as weel quite smooth.

ich habe am 6.5.tenAUto in Sarajevo gemietet und eine Kaution in höhe von 600Euro bezahlt. man sagte mir ich soll 90 tage warten, aber immer noch kein geld zuruck bekommen, zu erreichen ist auch keiner! Werde jetzt rechtlich vorgehen und die firma bei der Polizei anzeigen !

Do not rent a car from the Santorini airport branch of Cargini. They scam and exploit for fake damages - or a least they certainly did to me.
Returned with no damage apart from some dirt on the wheel rim and woman insisted it was almost 400 euros damage which was deducted from deposit. Charged for very small dent also which we tried to show her on before pics was already there. She did not bother to look as appeared intent on finding damage. I believe she had planned to set us up for damages before we even returned the car.
Please see google reviews on Santorini cargini where I have uploaded photos so you can see for yourself that there is no difference whatsoever between before and after photos. There is only a very tiny dent (which before pictures prove was pre-existing). Therefore I have been charged a large sum for nothing. A very blatant scam as they make you pay a large deposit which they say they can’t release until the ‘damage’ forms are signed in a threatening manner. All done right when you are rushing to catch a flight.
I’m unsure whether they only do this to certain people they believe will not make a fuss. I’m a very mild mannered kind person. But it was definitely an intentional scam. It has left me very upset and caused an awful lot of stress after what had been a very lovely holiday.
I would also like to point out that they add generic responses to these negative reviews but don’t actually make any effort to get in touch or resolve issue.
Either this is a company wide scam which is endorsed and encouraged to make more money out of tourists or the woman (signed as ‘Lara’ on forms) who works in the Santorini branch needs her conduct investigated immediately.
I’ll never get this money back but want to make sure nobody else gets conned like I was. It was a very upsetting and the worst experience I’ve ever had from any company. I’ll say again, please avoid Cargini and any of their linked businesses such ‘Car Q’. ‘Car Q’ appears to be the same business and its logo was all over the damage forms so it is same business with same staff. Please read the reviews for both as there are plenty reporting false damage claims. I think the lengthy review highlights just how upset and angry I am with the whole ordeal.
**UPDATE 29/09/25. As you can see Cargini have reviewed photos and agree that no damage was done to the car. They have now refunded the damage charge taken from deposit. Therefore I have updated the review to reflect this.

Nedavno sam iznajmio vozilo kroz Cargini u Zagrebu i mogu s punim povjerenjem reći da je sve bilo besprijekorno od početka do kraja. Vozilo je bilo izvanredno čisto, besprijekorno održavano i u potpunosti spremno za vožnju. Osoblje je bilo izuzetno ljubazno, profesionalno i susretljivo – odmah su mi pomogli s detaljnim informacijama i savjetima. Nakon preuzimanja, nisam imao/la nikakvih problema – sve je prošlo glatko i efikasno.
Posebno mi se svidio njihov 24/7 korisnički servis, dostupan putem WhatsAppa i Vibera, što mi je dodatno dalo osjećaj sigurnosti.
. Lokacija je vrlo praktična – nalaze se nedaleko od Zračne luke Zagreb, a nude i besplatan prijevoz (shuttle) do svog ureda, što je bilo jako korisno
