Carbar has been a great assistance to me and my wife. No hassle registration and subscribing. Although the upfront fee is not refundable, it is a necessity for them. Securing the car takes time, especially in the the time of pandemic. Nevertheless, waiting patiently helps. Overall so happy with the subsription.

Mostly Positives - They will improve no doubt
I will set some details for those interested, but in short, my experience was more positive than not and i will continue to use CarBar - the service is still at its infancy and will improve over time and the kinks will iron out. A Shared economy model is great for everyone i think, especially as they promote the Electric Vehicle revolution.
Most (or some?) of the cars on their site they have to buy AFTER you place the order, so expect some delays and a clunky process. We took two cars, one was smooth and the other was slightly delayed.
Positives:
1. easy to navigate website;
2. some of the staff (at pick up) were very much helpful and of assistance;
3. shared economy makes car use very convenient;
4. the choice of cars is good and varied (although it'll be nice if they included more luxury/high-end cars - there is DEFINITELY a market for it).
Negatives:
1. not enough info on the cars - have to call them to confirm various things like "does it have a sunroof";
2. promised delivery date was not met (delayed by appx 8-9days) and was told the emails that the delivery date that i selected (from their allowable range) upon ordering the car and the same delivery dates that were confirmed in multiple emails were "system glitches".
3. called customer service multiple times and was not given a proper answer. Had a "manager" call me from Melb who promised to call me that afternoon and confirm the delivery date, who never did and never returned my calls. In the meantime, the car was readied (even if late).
4. customer service agents know nothing about the details of the cars - they always undertake to get the info though and most get back within a reasonable time re: info.
5. pickup process was clunky and took 40mins (even though everything should have been readied since it's an online platform and all my info was at hand - all i had to do was show my licence and get the car so the wait was exuberant).

Your a loyal customer for 2 plus years and then you go oversea to see sick family and then you miss a few payments and then suddenly they take the car and Your families only means of transport away was only a weeks notice that I had to beg for only wanted to give me less than 24 hours notice. As soon as I returned and seen all the emails and phone calls I fix the account up straight away poor form on your partner have lost a good customer I wanna been with you for years.

Maintaining / servicing the car is a problem from my experience as a customer of close to 2 years, recently (2 months ago) got a new car from them and the tyres are now past the tread indicator, got tyres replaced from my own expense and they ask "how much was the tyres?" and then needing to get additional technical approval to fit 3 more tyres as they are all old and not matching the new tyre tread, which does not make sense to me as the tyres were assessed by tyre specialists as needing to replace due to near unroadworthy! And the fact that this was not picked when car picked up (2 months ago) quality checked the car? This shows to me they are cutting corners and has been not on one occasion but many where servicing is the customers problem and becomes your headache to fix and run around else you cannot drive the car in my case with the tyres!

Proceses need some refining and streamlining. Commnication with customers needs to be clearer and more made transaprent in a timely manner. Some exceptional 10/10 customer service delivered by some employees of this company whilst on the other hand I have experienced some terible customer service by others.

Disorganized and dishonest service
Announcement of cars that are not available, charge fees before subscription is approved, extremely long waiting times and then no delivery at all. Total failure.

Never again.
Oh my God, never ever ever EVER again. They have taken away our vehicles, with our 2 year old witnessing abuse from the collectors (who after breaking a number of laws resulted in our having to have police called ) claiming we haven't paid anything for 4 months, despite getting acknowledgement from carbar not one week ago that we HAVE paid our premiums. Off to court we go, fun fun fun. Absolutely disgraceful and this won't be the last time they'll deal with us.
ETA: We have evidence that you thieves doctored an email and changed the date on it, so we know that you know that you took money from us after ending the contract (and not bothering to tell us that you'd ended the contract). So at the minimum, you'll be returning the money you happily took from us AFTER you had arranged for these tyrants to arrive on our property and seize our vehicles.
Day 2 update: So you've taken our cars, and despite that, you've just tried to debit another two weeks of premiums from our bank account. Thankfully we anticipated that you would try that, after everything else that you have illegally pulled, and yesterday we closed the bank account attached to carbar, but just another reason for anyone reading this review to run as fast as possible from this mob.

Excellent service: Used Car dealership
Although Carbar is a vehicle subscription service my review is through dealing with their 2nd hand vehicle dealership in Auburn, Sydney.
I came looking for a very specific vehicle. I was ready to buy but was contacting from interstate with no capability to visit the dealership.
I spoke with Mikael. He was more than helpful. Took extra pictures of the vehicle, video, descriptions. Sent me additional paperwork on request without issue. Mikael was up and honest and didn't try to sell me. He gave me confidence in the vehicle and dealership and him.
Finalising the transaction was smooth, he arranged transport to my home and the vehicle arrived, in the condition as seen and described and drove well.
Would 100% recommend them, and particularly Mikael again.

After having to rent a car due to mine blowing up in Dec 2019 I found Carbar and was helped from the start. Even through all my tears trying to arrange a car to get to work asap the staff were wonderfully caring and helpful.
There was no cars in ACT for my requirements so they actually purchased one from a car yard and arranged me to pick up locally. Which all went smoothly.
once Covid hit we both lost 95% of our income and Carbar again helped by arranging for us to drop the car back so we could sort ourselves out. 6 months on and I still cant go back to work but have had communication with staff members keeping up to date.
I will not be redoing my Carbar subscription for some time due to Covid and health etc staying at home.
But I 100% recommend this company. They have very competitive pricing and when you call and or get a call back it people that actually care and you are not just a number in their database.
100% Happy with my experience with Carbar all of the staff and management.

I had been following trends and I predicated car subscription will be a thing of the future and I am glad it is. Carbar has been great so far. I sold my car eventually and I like peace of mind. I travel quite a bit and not having to think about maintenance when registration is expiring etc leave me great peace of mind. It's wonderful, I love the passionate team members behind Carbar and they really try to bring a smile to their customers face. When I sent the car for maintenance, I got it back the same day and Rohan was very quick and communicated all the way. Anybody skeptical about car subscription should give Carbar a try.
Great Product
I was a bit unsure of Carbar given the large amount of negative reviews. My experience was great. Anthony was fantastic in communicating and the staff in the office (Bianca) were great also.
I urge people to refrain from giving negative reviews if you do not fully understand how the service works. Yes the upfront fees are costly in comparison to traditional car rental, however the service carbar are offering is different and i feel its priced well.
Id like to see them offer an additional service similar to whats on offer in the UK where every 6 months you can have a brand new car.
