I purchased 2 picture lamps for my new house. When we were ready to install them, one was a lamp made in UK and did not fit our standards in Canada. No electricians nor lighting company were able to find a solution to our standards. I was never able to speak to anyone at the company to get a refund. They argued by email only that the lamp was appropriate for Canada. They forward me the company that makes this lamp but never was I able to talk to anyone, and nobody returnee my calls. Canada lighting refused my return. I is a bad customer service company and I will not recommand anyone to buy there! Horrible experience.

I was quite close to placing an order with this company before I realised that the prices were in USD. I find it more than a little deceptive to portray your business as Canadian (with "Canada" in the name) and then list all prices in USD without a clear statement. I recognize that the website states that they "charge in USD" (in a few strategically, well-hidden places) but that is NOT the same as stating that the prices listed on the site are all in USD and will be converted to CAD at checkout. It would be very easy to clearly state in the shopping window that all listed prices are in USD and it appears suspiciously intentional that this is not done.

After assuring me that it was NORMAL for my parcel to be delivered and received somewhere other than my address, they have now sent me another e-mail stating that my parcel was received and the case is closed!!!!! WHAT????? I have been scammed and would like it to be on record so that other customers don't waste their hard-earned money. Show me proof the package was received and check the address!!! because the address on MY invoice I paid over $300.00 Canadian for is in CANADA!!!! they delivered the package to someone in Seatle U.S.A.... How do you make that mistake? I am sending a review to the Better Business Bureau to stop this type of fraudulent behaviour. It is impossible to contact anyone at the company and it appears to be automated responses only. Buyer Beware!

This is most likely fraudulent. I reported a dispute with my credit card company. They are quick to supply shipping information but the shipper never received the package. Trying to contact them solves nothing but lies and manipulation. Order one light fixture a month ago . Also be careful with your personal information. I have been receiving so much spam mail and robo calls after my order .

do not buy from Canada Lighting Experts. it is not a canadian company. they claim that you do not pay duties for orders sent to Canada, but you do. the duties are hidden in the prices on their website, and you see duties added on your invoice as a separate line. the only positives are that, when you want to buy from them, there is a live person available immediately and you will get your items within a few days. once they have your money and you need to talk to them, you will have to communicate through their chat; i was on hold on their chat for 30-40 minutes every time, and i had to talk to them several times. i had to return one item because the color looked very different from their online photos. i was told that it's "normal color variation" and they would not pay for the return. it cost me $300 to send the item back to them. another item came broken and they did sent a return label. i initiated both of those returns through their online system. however, no response came back for days so i had to go on their live chat to inquire about the processing of my requests. they finally dealt with both the returns after a few separate chats. they sent me a return label but i was not getting a refund on my CC for several days, so again had to contact them and wait on chat for 40 minutes.
they also say that if you do not receive your items within 2-3 days, they will give you a $25 credit. in order to get that credit you have to contact them and wait in line on their chat.
it just seems that for a company that makes it so easy to buy from, the returns and anything else that they are supposed to do for you, is a hassle and time waste for the consumer. can't help but think that it is done like that to discourage returns.
most of the lights that they sell you can buy from different suppliers in Canada, and the price comes out to be approximately the same. so, again i would not recommend them.

If I could give this company a ZERO, I would. 1 is generous. After lots of comparison shopping, I placed an order because the price was cheaper than the competitors. It seemed to good to be true and I figured it might be in US $, which is was. I have come across this with other companies before (pet pharmacies with the name Canada in it).

I placed my order and received a shipping tracking number and estimate for 1 week. I was tracking this and then noticed that it was stuck in my city awaiting documentation for 5 days. When I went to reach out to Cda Lighting Experts, I found out that there are no human beings that exist at this company - only digital assistance. The number directs you to a website that advertises some type of software. I clicked on the chat and had it on my 2nd screen for an entire day with no one coming on. I found a link to submit a ticket and explained the situation, mentioning that there seemed to be a documentation issue. 3 days later, I received an email where they cut and pasted the online comment from Fedex (same one I saw) and told me to be patient. Then I immediately received another email saying that the case was closed.
I spent a day getting routed from one department and person to another at Fedex until I found the person who helped me resolve the issue and now the package will come in a few days. What infuriates me is this info on their website: Our goal is to provide the highest overall value and shopping experience for our customers while providing the best customer service in the industry. We have a fully staffed Customer Service team who are ready and available to take your calls and answer your questions.
This is absolute BS. I strongly advise you to find another retailer for your purchases.
Update Nov 15/24 - Even though they wrote a nice reply to this review, they never did reach out to me to discuss my situation or get feedback. I'm doubling down on this review.

Beautiful product. Canda Lighting wouldn't even help with their faulty product. A new house was built and the light wasn't installed until a few months later. The chandelier is advertised as dimmable BUT flickers on and off when dimmed, even sometimes when on full brightness. (Paid around $1200 - can't remember CAD or USD - you'd think "Canada" Lighting would be charged in Canadian.. NOPE USD.) They refused to help and exchange the product as it was past the exchange date. Not even for the fact that there was delays in construction and was out of my control as to when someone could plug it in to see if it worked properly.. Fault's was quickly discovered within 24 hours of installation..

Purchased a floor lamp 14 months ago. This lamp is in a room that is not used often. Turned on lamp, sometime later the lampshade fell apart in three pieces and fell to the floor. This lamp was a $400 lamp. Company will not back the product because the warranty has expired. I wanted to purchase a new shade. Apparently the lamp is discontinued. All they offered is $50 off my next purchase. Like I’m going to use this joke of a company again! This $400 lamp is now junk. Buyer beware!!

I called in for a price adjustment and was able to receive it through your agent Ann. I was very satisfied with the outcome.
HORRIBLE customer service. I had an issue with an order I tried to place online so I called the toll free number provided. My first phone call was cut off after waiting over 30 minutes on hold. I called a second time and finally hung up after waiting an additional 25 minutes. I never did get any help and will now look to give my business to a different website. I'm completely frustrated with the experience.

Ordered a few fixtures from this site in the past and have been satisfied, although it is misrepresented as being "Canadian". Be careful if you want to return something! They offer fairly good prices and the selection is often superior to other sites available online in Canada. I would have given them a 5 star rating but this time, I wanted to return a fixture, ordered, never installed, and simply removed from the box to see if it would fit a spot (which it didn't). I contacted them about a return and refund. A week later, they responded claiming to have attached a return label (there was none). What I wanted was a refund and would have been willing to return the item. Now they've offered a "credit", not the same thing. The company appears to be an "e-commerce" supplier, basically a broker between buyer and seller. They are accepting orders and passing them on to manufacturers for shipment. The site indicates that they're based in California. Proceed with caution fellow Canadians in case. you need a return/refund!

Misleading pricing. Site pretends to be Canadian, and that Product from Canadian Manufacturer ships from Canada, although my order shipped out from Georgia. Prices are in "Dollars". Everything on the site screams "Canada", so no one goes digging if this is true.
Prices are in USD, not in CAD... which means that you did pay for all the shipping, taxes and duties, since the same product in Canada is much cheaper, and local, and ships faster, even with taxes. 50% price hike just due to exchange rate. Total scam.
None of this is transparent, and important details are placed in hard, left out or hard to find text or small fonts.
Totally misleading. I feel scammed, and shipment is "somewhere" in the US.
Buy local, even if online. Their products might be fine, but the site is garbage. Still waiting for my order.

I had a very disappointing experience with Canada Lighting Experts, which is actually an American company based in California. Unfortunately, they do not make it clear on their website that all prices are listed in USD rather than CAD. Upon realizing this, I attempted to cancel my order immediately. However, reaching customer service is extremely difficult, as they make it nearly impossible to speak to a live person. You are forced to use an online help desk, which I found unhelpful and frustrating.
Despite multiple cancellation requests, the company still shipped the product—more than a week after I had cancelled. When I reached out again, I was informed that I would have to cover the cost of shipping the item back to the U.S. via a courier service like UPS or FedEx to receive a refund. To avoid these unnecessary expenses due to their error, I denied the package upon delivery.
It has now been over a month, and the company continues to make it impossible to process a refund for the more than $1,500 I paid. As a result, I’ve had to file a fraud complaint with my credit card company. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. I strongly advise others to stay away from this company. Their prices may seem lower, but that’s only because they are in USD, not CAD. Additionally, their promise of delivery within 3 days is completely inaccurate—the produce arrived weeks later. This is especially important for tradespeople who are working with tight project timelines. I would recommend looking elsewhere to avoid these unnecessary complications, and frustrating customer service experiences that was time and money.

I live in Canada. Placed an order. Received a FedEX tracking number. Found out upon delivery of said order that the order was sent (in my name) to someone who lives in the US. Tried to call customer service. Closed.
If this is not rectified when I call tomorrow morning, I will be reaching out to the FTC as well as my credit card company to have the order reversed.
What a waste of my time. Spend a few extra bucks and order elsewhere; this business is at best incompetent, and at worst a fraudulent scam company.
ETA: Managed to reach a human after multiple call attempts. Ended up getting through on chat. Claims the item is currently at a shipping facility in the US (even though the FedEx agent says that it was a residential address). NO additional tracking number provided and NO ETA and nothing in writing to substantiate the claim that my shipment is still en route, save for what the live chat person claims.
I stand by my review that if you can get your product from a Canadian retailer *located in Canada,* it's worth the extra money. My order was placed 6 days ago and there is literally no way for me to know when it will arrive at my door, despite it being 2024; I have to trust a company that basically hasn't sent me anything from their company to confirm that my order is still en route, and the *ONLY* tracking number I have claims that the order was already delivered.
Ask yourself this: even places like Temu, shipping from some warehouse in China, can get my stuff to me *with tracking* and an ETA as soon as I place my order. Why can't this company? Incompetent at best, scummy at worst.

Do not buy from this company! Even though it says "Canada Lighting" it is an American Company. Shipping is routed through Seattle and can take more than a month to receive. We spent more than 1K on lighting. Some we liked, some we didn't (buying online is hard: colour variations, hard to imagine size, doesn't work etc.) But if you return, you pay for the cost of shipping! International shipping! So you aren't really getting a refund when the cost of shipping is almost as much as the cost of the item. It's not worth the risk. Find a similar item from another company.

Great quality products at a reasonable price, and amazing customer service. One of the lampshade we ordered arrived with some indents and they replaced that part promptly, keeping us informed of the status of our request and shipping date. Great website if shopping for furniture!

I received exactly the fixture I bought in less than a week at a lower price than anywhere else. No collection from the courier for duties, customs, or taxes.
