Broken tag after two weeks
The tags are way too brittle and prone to breaking. Ours lasted less than two weeks. I will update this *IF* I hear back from the company and get a refund. I don't have high hopes for it. This seems to be an example of all the money going into marketing and none into research and development. They aren't even worth the $10 they are now asking for them. The original price was a joke.

They Break They Break They Break
They Break They Break They Break. Finally going to give up on a decent tag that SHOULD have a stainless ring around the very BREAKABLE plastic tab that holds the ring that attaches to the collar. Lost the last one out of eight ordered at various times due to this breakage.

No Tag/No Customer Service
I ordered a tag for my puppy on 12/27/22, received a tracking number on 12/29 but since then, the package has not moved. Emailed the company, nothing. Filed a dispute with PayPal and I am waiting for the refund. Don’t bother, there are other reputable companies around with great customer service.

Almost 2 Months and No Show
Made an order 1st of December 2022, it's now 29th of January 2023 and have not received my order. I have sent emails to the company in regards to the order and no response. Seems like a few other people have experienced this issue as well. Disappointing, hopefully the company resolves these issues as the product seems like a great idea and those who receive it have great reviews

Purchased 4 just before Xmas. Absolutely perfect and the ability to update the profile is amazing. With large dogs that some people may find intimidating the fact it says they are friendly is brilliant

Love our ByteTags!
Our girl was diagnosed with Addison’s disease a year ago. So we were looking for something to put all of her necessary medical information on. Came across ByteTags and absolutely love them! Super easy to set up a profile and now if god forbid anything ever happens to her she has all of her personal and medical information right around her neck. They give us such peace of mind. We bought several more in different colors and materials to match her other collars. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic
The only negative thing I have to say is, I'm made I didn't think of this first! Ordering was easy. My tags came in a timely fashion. Setting them up was a breeze. And I legit have less anxiety about my dog getting loose.

My dogs are escape artists
My dogs are escape artists. Have a husky and a Pomsky so not surprising. But having the tags make me feel a lot more comfortable even though they are microchipped it gives me another form of comfort!!!

I received my bytetags and love them
I received my bytetags and love them! They are light weight, durable, and unlike the metal tags - alert me if my dog is lost while giving the person who finds my baby everything they need to help them get home- including vet if they are hurt!

Peace of mind
It gives me peace of mind to know this will help locate them if they get lost. They won't have to go to a vet to get scanned. I did change out the key ring, but otherwise all 3 have stayed in tact and are cute. I'm pleased.

I initially got a Byte Tag out of…
I initially got a Byte Tag out of curiosity for my new pup. She recently got out and was returned to me within the hour. The Good Samaritan that found her scanned her tag and I instantly got her location since then, all of my dogs wear a Byte Tag! They are super beneficial. I still support microchipping but that usually requires someone to take your dog to a vet/shelter to be scanned. Byte Tag is instant! As soon as the tag is scanned, you get notified. I highly recommend these tags for all of your fur babies! They are durable and come in a variety of fun designs. For cats too!

Affordable peace of mind
We use these on each of our 4 dogs, we love the peace of mind knowing if one of our dogs were to run away they could be easily returned to us. The profile is extremely easy to set up and adding multiple animals to your account is fast! The second the QR code is scanned we get a notification! We recommend them to all our pet friends!

Absolutely a rubbish company. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS.
I bought 4 tags, on 4th Dec as Christmas presents, a month and a half later, a no show. Won't answer emails. I'm furious.

We're incredibly sorry that your ByteTags never arrived.
During the holiday season, the post office loses quite a few packages. That being said, we refund and reship packages that are lost and reach the 30 day period since the customer made their purchase. It is likely that we have already issued your refund or reshipped your package, but if not, please reply to us here with your order number, and we can take care of it :)
As for the comment about how we didn't respond to your email, by this point in time I'm assuming that we have responded to your email, but please allow me to explain why your response time may have been slow:
2022 was ByteTags first full year being in business. For the majority of 2022, we had the right amount of staff to handle our current volume. However, when the holiday season came around, our demand sky rocketed. Due to this increase in demand, the number of emails we received increased drastically as well. This means that we were -- unfortunately -- understaffed on the customer support side.
We worked as fast as we possibly could to hire additional staff for customer service, but these things take time. Fortunately, we have made great strides on the customer service side of things, so our response time is significantly better :)
Now, all that being said, this is no excuse for the poor experience that you had with our company. At the end of the day, if a customer has a bad experience, that's on us 100%. It's inevitable that some packages get lost by the post office, but we should have planned accordingly and had the appropriate amount of customer service staff to fix those issues as they arose (within a timely manner). I genuinely appreciate your honest feedback about ByteTag, and I hope that we have resolved the issue for you :)

Tried to place an order today and they charged my bank account multiple times. When I went to contact the company, no phone number and just a "leave a message" via email. When I tried to call the company through a number that my bank gave me it was a personal phone number with a full message box. SCAM, do not use.

Hi there!
I came across your email yesterday, and we have already canceled both orders for you. We're incredibly sorry that this occurred. We're still not entirely sure what caused this, but we're investigating.
Our online store is powered by Shopify, which is the largest e-commerce platform in the world. Shopify does not allow companies on their platform to charge customers without their consent. I'm thinking the most likely culprit here is that there was a glitch in Shopify's system which triggered two orders to be placed. Glitches with Shopify's system are -- unfortunately -- out of our control. However, we have refunded all of your money :)
To give more context on this situation for other readers, Kelly placed an order for 3 ByteTags on January 19th at 3:23pm EST. After the purchase is completed, ByteTag occasionally offers a select few ByteTags at a discount to add onto your order. Kelly took advantage of this discount and added an additional two ByteTags to her order for $17.50. The order total is now at $47.50.
4 minutes later, at 3:37pm EST, and additional order is placed by Kelly for nearly the exact same ByteTags (2/5 of them were different than the first order). The total of this order was $47.50 as well.
We responded to Kelly's emails on January 20th at 7:29pm EST and informed Kelly that we had canceled and refunded their order.
We have had over 150,000 customers, and we've never seen this issue occur before. However, if these issues do happen, we always make it right for the customer :)
