I went for local pick up. Anh was super friendly and showed me around his fish room. He gave me lots of information, answered any questions I had and even let me pick a fish (that was different from what I ordered, I only had to pay the difference in price). I got a betta mahachaiensis, it's been 2 weeks and the betta has been healthy. Would recommend for anyone interested in wild bettas!

Anh was very knowledgeable about the bettas and answered all my questions. I also had the opportunity to select the fish I wanted. Great place to buy rare and high quality bettas.

the fish came well packed and both seemed to be doing well and were active (they were stressed but this is to be expected and not the fault of BWaquatics). It's been about a week and both fish are doing great. The female is active and actively exploring her new tank, while the male is still unsure (his personality seems a bit shy). I would definitely buy bettas again from them.

Great customer service, knowledgeable as well amazing, well taken care blackwater specific livestock. They helped me to find hard to find licorice gouramis (Parosphromenus sp fawan) and phoenix rasboras (Boraras Merah) for my Kalimantan region peat swamp tank. Will definitely buy again from BWaquatics in the spring as I set my Amazon Region blackwater Rio Araguaia blackwater tank. As well maybe a pair of wild Betta Persephone or api api for my refugium along wild type tiger shrimp.

Responsive to inquiry. Got my fish alive as planned. A little disappointed I did not get notified when shipment may occur until I contacted them. Understandable though as I am sure they are busy.

Really impressed with the speed and care they took to send the fish in a healthy way. They arrived healthy and alive, with beautiful coloration. If you are interested in wild type bettas, they are the place to go.

Ordered from Florida and despite a day delay, both fish arrived alive and in good health. I will say, though, I would like the package to have more indications that it contains live animals and a strong "this side up", potentially in bright orange stickers that I've seen before when ordering fish from other companies- the fish were presented to me sideways at the pickup location, and the mail person tipped the box over on another of its sides to get a look at a label (while I was screaming internally thinking of the poor fish being washed around inside...) Both bags were also not fully inflated, and the corners were not taped- both of which are measures that can help keep the fish safer in transit. Overall though I would order from Blackwater Aquatics again, and recommend them as a supplier of species that can be difficult to find in the US.

I love BWaquatics. I’ve ordered from them at least 3 times now and every experience has been great. I’ve even been successful at breeding a pair of their API bettas.

I loved my two Antuta pair Male and female. Unfortunately after a day, the female found a way and jumped out the tank by the filter and passed away so it left her companion alone. Their fish are healthy gorgeous and beautiful. Spoiled because you can tell they were fed by a spoon or such lol. Cute but I am training him.to go catch your food. Another mote, the shipping took forever. I paid for next day and got my fish 4 days later. Was very unhappy about that. While they explained what happened (which has nothing to do with me, thus is a business and customers pay for what they want and expect) I felt I should've gotten my shipping fee reimbursed or something compensated for the time wasted. Next day means next day not 4 days later. Otherwise good company based put Cali, but I won't be ordering from them anymore because of the shipping.

I love the guys at BWAquatics. They're my number one choice for wild betta here in the US, and im a huge betta fish lover. Every time I have questions I'm always answered back with a very grateful response. Whether it's about care, medicine/treating, shipping, etc. Im always a very happy customer every time. Wonderful communication, colorful and healthy fish, and safe shipping. Unfortunately, some of the fish claimed to be stocked on the website weren’t available, however, support was quick to offer similar fish instead. Great experience overall, even if shipping fish is the most stressful thing ever! 9/10, would recommend!

Great service as always. One of five fish was DOA which the gentleman offered to refund my money or give me credit. These people offer great service. Very helpful and get back to you in a timely manner. I highly recommend them.

This was my first time ordering from BW Aquatics and my first time ordering a fish online; overall I was really impressed with their service! I originally placed an order for an alien betta but I was informed that they were no longer available- no problem! I was offered a choice for a replacement fish for no additional cost. I ended up choosing a betta imbellis. I recieved the fish here in New York City and he was alive and healthy! After a few hours of acclimating and settling into the 5 gallon blackwater tank I had set up, he was already showing vivid colors. This is my first time purchasing a wild type betta after years of buying from pet shops and I'm never going back!

Amazing customer service! They worked around my travel with shipping, shipping speed is crazy fast and the fish are uniquely gorgeous and very healthy. Highly recommend!

When I purchased the bettas, the temperature in my area was too high for safe shipment. I contacted BW and they were quick to respond and hold the bettas until the temperature was more reasonable for shipping. Later, when I received the bettas, they were not in the best shape, but they recovered and are doing well now. I would recommend BW to others, and I will also purchase more from BW. I also like the details about each betta species that are on the website including the endangered status. Keep up the good work and stay authentic. I think your continued success will depend on being authentic about the fish you sell and not become like every other betta seller selling what i call "candy colors" of lots of low quality generic bettas.
