Good service let down by late arrival of sample
I booked in a Wellman Gold test while waiting 10 days to speak to my usual NHS GP.
The free nurse home visit was much appreciated, and the nurse who took the sample was both lovely and skilled. It did end up taking 2 weeks to get an appointment though, so the NHS surprisingly managed to win the race in this instance!
Once the sample arrived at the lab, the results came back faster than the estimated times, and the free doctors comments were much appreciated. However, the sample took 2 days to arrive at the lab (may be down to Royal Mail, I'm not sure), which is very frustrating.
My tests potentially indicate an health issue that I suspected I may be having, but the comments say to treat the result with caution due to the sample being 48 hours old. My NHS GP will likely be shaking with glee when he reads that as now has an excuse he can cling onto to not investigate any further.
I'm unlikely to use the service again due to the late arrival and I would be unlikely to recommend it for others living in the North East of England. It's a shame though, as the service itself has been decent and would have been a 5 star review otherwise.

Outstanding Service and Fast Results from Blue Horizon Medicals
I recently purchased the Thyroid Premium Platinum test from Blue Horizon Medicals, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire experience. From start to finish, everything was seamless and exceeded my expectations.
The website was incredibly easy to navigate, making it simple to find the exact test I needed and complete the purchase quickly. Booking the Nurse Home Visit Service was equally straightforward, and this option proved to be invaluable for me. The nurse who came to take my blood sample was absolutely brilliant - professional, kind, and patient. I have very tiny veins, which usually makes blood draws a challenge, and I almost fainted during the process, however, the nurse handled everything with exceptional skill and care, ensuring I felt as comfortable as possible throughout.
Another highlight was the turnaround time for the test results. Although the expected results date was Friday 04 April - 17 working days after the laboratory received my sample on Wednesday 12 March - I was pleasantly surprised to receive my results much earlier; on Friday 22 March! This efficiency really stood out and demonstrated Blue Horizon Medicals' commitment to providing timely service.
Overall, I highly recommend Blue Horizon Medicals for their excellent service, user-friendly website, and professional staff. The combination of convenience, care, and speed makes them a fantastic choice for anyone needing reliable medical testing.

Costumer service unresponsive
I have purchased the Thyroid test and à Phlebotomy at Superdrug. The nurse at Superdrug was poorly trained and gave up trying to draw my blood after 4 attempts and instructed me to come back to Blue Horizons to figure out what to do.
I have no interest in going through this again. I have contacted Blue Horizons for a full refund. They have sent me towards an unresponsive email and the matter remains unanswered after 48h. I have tried the website chat again, also unresponsive.
I have a health condition that needs treatment not added stress. Not satisfied with the service at all, hope I can get my money back.

Going forward, we would be more than happy to arrange a home nurse visit with one of our highly skilled nurses or refer you to one of our partner pharmacies where trained professionals can carry out the blood draw.
These options may provide a more comfortable and reliable experience for you.

A stressful experience and I had to wait 6 weeks for the blood test
It took 6 weeks between paying and having my blood taken
I paid to have a nurse visit
This is outsourced, an appointment was sent to me for a Friday . MY TEST NEEDED NEXTDAY AT LAB .so this was not appropriate
I contacted blue Horizen and was told they had no control over appointment times and for me to contact the nurse . The next available appointment earlier in the week was another month away.
If I hadn’t read the instructions my test would have been taken on a Friday and been useless.
The nurse , who was very good , explained there was no instructions from blue Horizen as to the need for next day lab delivery

Do they even believe in their own test?
The kit was delivered promptly with clear instructions and I recieved the results before promised. However, the GP report about any results that were out of their reference range was unhelpful. There was only one result I really wanted to know and the doctor said “The elevated levels of rT3 are unlikely to be of any clinical significance , although opinions vary…..”. I was fully aware of the controversy around the significance of RT3 levels. However, why do they offer this test, which they charge a significant amount for, if their own staff don’t believe it is ‘significant’. I was disappointed by this statement.

Poor communication however great service
The test was completed very quickly and very comprehensive feedback.
However I could not get a response from the chat which was very frustrating. I tried at least three times. I was concerned about a mistake in my order.

Great labs but disappointing blood collection
Prior to ordering, I contacted customer service via few times: one advisor suggested they could look at an offer the other said no- pot luck.
The home blood service said their were no specific times noted for collection even though my test did. As I followed her advice, this has caused a lot of anxiety.
She sounded knowledgeable, and she was polite and friendly during the collection; however, as I told customer service (no response) l, this service would be improved:
Wearing a uniform
Showing ID
Hand washing after touching pets (before collection,)
Opening the box in front of the patient to show the syringe was safe would ease anxiety.
Test was returned quickly
