Blackmilk leggings a couple years ago used to be unbeatable. Since changing their fabric to save costs obviously its absolutely disgusting. Their fabric is now see through and they have become more expensive.. however that works. Dont waste your money here. Definately not even worth a cent. Cheap fabric and cheap service. I will never ever shop here again

I bought a skirt, paid for shipping. I checked the shipping link every week. FOR FOUR MONTHS. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED IN THE POST ABOUT MY ITEM. I contacted you multiple times, then told it had been returned to your warehouse. I asked for a refund. I was told I could have store credit only or have the item delivered AND PAY SHIPPING AGAIN. This store does indeed offer refunds but apparently it did not qualify. This is disgusting.

This was the first time I shopped at blackmilk and I am not sure if I am going to shop there again...

So I got the "Mini Mermaid leggings" and the "Black Mermaid Pocket Skater Skirt"
I am going to mention this but I am not sure if it was their fault or if they could have done anything about it, but the shipping to europe took over a month. The package got stuck at customs in my country so as I said I am not sure if they can do anything about it. Just be aware that it can take a while to get to you.
The second thing that I personally did not know is that the price on the website is not the actual price you have to pay, because tax is not included. Again I don´t know if that is normal overseas but in my country tax is usually included.
Another thing that bugged me was the fact that the tracking of my package did not work whatsoever. Shortly after I got the email from blackmilk, I had a status update on the tracking site saying it was in Brisbane scheduled to be shipped. And that was it, there was not another update since then, obviously I already have the product but on the site it still says my package is in Brisbane, absolutly useless.

Now to the actual products: I loved them when I first opened the package but both have flaws which I would not expect from clothing that is this expensive.
First the leggings: They are incredibly fragile, eventhough they´re leggings they are made from 84% nylon so it feels like anything can damage the design especially dangerous are: Fingernails, Velcro, sitting on wooden chairs etc. I´ve had mine for about 2 weeks and there are already a lot of small knots all over them.
The second thing that i find even more anoying is that they are already falling appart at the seams, the seam in the crotch area is coming loose and there is a hole forming.

The skirt: With the skirt I luckily didn´t have as many problems, the fabric is sturdy and seems to be high quality. I can´t really say anything about the longevity of the print because I haven´t washed it yet. What annoys me are the pockets: the whole skirt is made up of two parts of fabric. The pockets are literally just two flaps tucked to the inside and when you put your hand in them and pull them back out 9 out of 10 times the pocket turns inside out. This, to me, is just lazy cheap design and they should have sown real pockets in.
So over all I am giving them 2 stars just because I like the designs but the quality definitly does not live up to the expectations.

I bought a pair of Magic Death Velvet High Waisted Leggings, which are gorgeous, only to find that the nap of the velvet was going upward, meaning when I wore them my top rode up, which meant they were unwearable. Thinking this was a simple case of a faulty garment, I contacted Black Milk only to have them tell me this was the way they were designed and I couldn't get a refund! Very alarming, as allowing for the nap of a fabric like velvet or corduroy is a basic consideration, and their assertion that it was designed that way makes me wonder about the competency of their designers...

Very disappointed, as I love their prints, have had good experiences in the past, and I like supporting Australian designers, but after this I don't think I'll risk buying from them again.

Beware this company, it is most definitely going downhill, I am so annoyed I made an account just to post this review and unfollowed all their social media pages.

I have been a loyal fan of this company for years, some of their items are excellent and unique but recently I have experienced some terrible service.

My last two orders took almost 2 months to arrive, on both occasions. On each occasion I was advised, strongly, to opt for express delivery and I unfortunately relented on my most recent order, a christmas present - What a mistake this was.

Now as a UK resident you expect VAT to be added on entry, not a problem, however, what you do not expect is to be charged 18AUD for delivery which does not even cover the cost of delivery. You will find that upon entry when using their express delivery option, their chosen carrier will charge you at minimum double this in hidden charges, the rate begins at an additional 20AUD for "brokerage charges" but varies dependent on weight and value of package, which means you could literally be charged 100s of pounds depending on how much you order and guess what, black milk try to fob it off as standard and claim that they're not liable for inaccurately depicting delivery fees on their website. I'm willing to bet that they receive a portion of this charge as part of their contract with UPS, I am also considering that they push the option so hard because of this and purposefully make the standard delivery option substandard at best.

The quality has gone down, I always liked that they appeared to make items themselves but lately I am seeing descriptions that say "made in China" and the prices have been driven up aswell.

I contacted customer services about my outrage and how they are misleading customers with their delivery pricing and received most unhelpful responses, what should have been a £60 (including postage) Christmas present became a £90 nightmare that I could not afford and I have opted to return to sender and the best they could say was: well we might accept it back, if we do the money will be taken off your refund but we can also choose not to at which point it will be destroyed and you will receive nothing back.

I would strongly advise avoiding this brand but if you cannot help yourself then do not, I repeat, do not opt for express delivery.

I'll say it how it is - the designs are not flattering, the workmanship is shoddy and the material is cheap.

I've bought eight different pieces of clothing from Black Milk Clothing over the years (Bodycon dress, two leggings, swim wear body suit, skater skirt, maxi dress, two skater dresses). My review is based on my experiene with these pieces.

First of all, the material is cheap and nasty.

Half the clothes on the Black Milk website have these fun disclaimers in the clothing description saying things like - material is semi see through, or don't wear it *too much* or the pattern fades, don't rub the material, be careful washing the material. Aka Black Milk uses cheap material. Of course if this isn't an issue and you want to look like a twelve year old wearing an ill designed skater dress then be my guest.

Another problem I find with the Black Milk brand is crowd mentality behind the brand. The *sharkies* are underhandedly controlled by this company to hype up their sub standard products. The truth about the quality of their products is hard to find when then's so much fake promo. But if you read the reviews on unbiased sites you'll see people are saying the same thing. It's poor quality and badly cut.

I wouldn't recommend buying clothes from Black Milk. They are cheap clothing being charged at ridiculous markups. Don't waste your money on crap.

I love black milk! I've been buying from them for a few years now! They have tones of trendy pieces offered, some outrageous, and lots of basics. I think it's great that they listen to this customers and try to deliver. And although it is expensive - it is- it is all made in Australia, so you're supporting a good cause.

My only warning is same as others, being Canadian keep your orders over 120 for free shipping, and under 150 so you decrease your chance of hitting customs. Or if you live near to the states get an American PO box. Honestly their products are worth the hassle. <3

Been a customer for 5 years now and have seen the slow decline of a company that used to be my favourite place to shop.

The quality has become horrible.
The prices seem to be increasing, despite the above mentioned lack of quality.
The returns process is unfeasible for international sharkies.
Any attempts I've seen from sharkie friends to try and work with BM to correct problems with orders have basically left sharkies feeling like we're stupid and can't measure ourselves/must be our fault for the failing quality.
And this whole 'lets make a release right after the one we've just done' motto - who has the money to be spending on things that often?

I won't be buying from them directly ever again.

Instead I'll be hunting out any dream pieces (not the newer things I can guarantee) on the selling sites cause everyone knows BM doesn't sell second hand for anywhere near what it cost to buy it new.

Would not recommend. Go to the high street (you'll find mainly the same stuff for half the price anyway) or a selling site.

I shopped with them loyally for 7 years, but will never buy from them again. Their products have taken a complete nosedive in quality, whilst prices have gone up. They used to be customer-centric, and produce truly quality items. I wouldn't pay £10 on Ebay for the stuff they're selling now - it's poorer quality than the knock-offs. Save your money and stay away from this greedy company.

NO ONE outside of Australia should EVER shop with this incompetent, moronic, dastardly unethical company. I am shocked and DISGUSTED at how I have been treated. I literally just spent $1k on new BM gear and they REFUSE to provide me with a prepaid shipping label after I fervently demonstrated they have SEVERE manufacturing & sizing issues. I'm so applauded.... I don't even know what else to say. I am looking to escalate this issue beyond the FTC to see what I can optionally levy internationally against them. STAY AWAY - BM IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE. This kind of corporate conduct is literally unheard of stateside, I cannot imagine what they are thinking. Longevity? LOL NOPE. Customer retention? NOPE. Customer satisfaction? NO IDEA WHAT THAT IS. Rationale / Reasonable policies that are comparable to oh say...ANY COMPETITOR? Absolutely 0%. I've got to say, it's time for the #boycottBlackMilk

Amazing clothes, amazing service. Amazing sharkies 😍. Just be wary of the taxes/custom you may get hit with as it’s shipped from AUS. If only they’d open up shop in Europe

Black Milk is the top of my favourite clothing brands! I wear them nearly every day. I love the quality and the patterns. They’re crazy enough to suit my personality. I tell anyone I can about them and persuade them even though the prices seem steep. The price is worth it to me.

Amazing service and quality. Had a parcel returned to them, they sent it back promtly, free of charge. Very nice support mega hotties.

Amazing clothing line and quality. They are expensive but I find them unique so it's okay. However if you order from Canada be VERY CAREFUL. The duty & taxes fee are extremely expensive. I had to pay 50$CAN when I received my parcel for a Star War dress I had paid 130$AUD!!!
I had never ordered since then because of that. Sorry but no!

I received my twelfth piece from Black Milk today. I got my first pair of shorts. The quality is good, which was to be expected from my previous orders. I've previously ordered Dresses and Leggings from them.

I typically order things when they are on sale or when they have a Museum Release. The prices for the pieces are pretty high, and now they charge for shipping if the order is under $120 AUD, which wasn't the case before. But it's only $10 AUD, which I find fair. It's pretty easy to rack up $120 when buying things from the website.

The only big downside I'd say about the overall experience is that they don't supply a tracking number with their packages. And the added shipping fee. I live in Canada, so I can't quite judge the shipping time since everything takes forever to arrive here, regardless of the place of origin.

All in all, good company to buy from.

Pros:
1. Gorgeous prints with vibrant colours
2. Company easy to contact and always friendly

Cons:
1. Overpriced (most pieces are priced close to $100 + postage)
2. Size chart not helpful as different cuts can run small or big (but if you email to ask for help they just refer to the size chart which, as stated, is not always accurate)
3. Dresses and skirts are either way too short (play dress, skater skirt), or too long (midi). Needs a knee length version and to stop trying to save a buck by scrimping on fabric.
4. The "Sharkie" cult is weird. These customers adore every piece regardless of how impractical or weird it might be. They're very frosty to anyone who doesn't share their bleating. Feels like the company gets free propaganda from these customers and the phoney sycophantic atmosphere is generally off-putting.

Overall:
Yes, I buy from them. The designs are stunning and I get lots of compliments when I wear their dresses... but I feel sick about spending so much money on nylon (think bathers material). I'm also over returning ill-fitting pieces (again, the size chart is useless) because you pay for return postage. 90% of their clothing is too short (for example an L skater skirt measures 40cm long in the front and 45cm in the back) and a lot of the designs are babyish (unicorns and rainbow mini overalls belong on five year olds- not 25 year olds). So, I have a love hate relationship with Black Milk. I'm frustrated by a lot of things they do, but the lovely designs manage to snag my money a few times a year.

I've ordered a good few pieces from here, and I would always recommend them to everyone looking for something stylish and funky. Their style of clothing looks fantastic on every body shape, and Black Milk show it off with their quality social media presence. They also routinely show how their clothes get made which is really great, it proves that the clothes are good quality and why they cost what they do.

Their customer service is brilliant too. All they ask is if you need to cancel or amend an order, you contact them within two hours of buying a piece because they'll have packaged to be sent out then, which is understandable. It's such a well-oiled machine that if you do need anything, you know BM are going help you the best they can as fast as they can.

A very special brand and their clothes always make me feel fantastic. I would never have a qualm recommending this company.

I bought 3 pairs of leggings last year (2015) and have been wearing them almost every day, especially the Spartans and only a couple of weeks ago they started showing signs of wear. If I weren't too finicky I'd still wear them. Still get loads of compliments and questions about where I bought them.

Ordered 4 new pairs that came within 3 weeks with standard delivery... from Australia to Sweden. That's good time.

Cute clothes, but overpriced considering they don't design the digital prints on their clothes. Seems like anyone could make these dresses. Love the material though.
