I have used BASCO several times during Covid lockfowns and restrictions and it has been one of the few highlights of that time. Excellent packaging, prompt delivery and great quality produce. Well worth keeping an eye on sales and offers as they tend to be genuine rather than the more usual online "sale". Highly recommended.
“Authentic” Spanish lamb from Italy? This is deceiving costumers with no shame
We ordered on the basis of buying “authentic” spanish milk fed lamb to find out that the lamb was born in italy, raised and slaughtered in Italy, but with an spanish sanitary label. This is deceiving costumers! We have requested and explanation and money back with no response so far!!! Imaging ordering jamon iberico de patanegra and receive a parma ham? Terrible service, never again!
An olive branch!
Slight mix-up as olives I ordered, some of which were for presents, were substituted with another flavoured variety which don't actually appear on the website and were not to our taste or liking. Emailed the company and even though Christmas is just a few days away and it was Sunday, Jake called me, apologised and said he would arrange despatch of replacements. No quibble - they came next day! Can't ask for better customer service than that, can you?
Menorcan Son Xoriguer Gin 😍
Ordered Menorcan gin Sunday evening arrived Tuesday afternoon am very impressed ( I did pay the supplemental postage for next day delivery in case of Xmas delays)
•The ordering process was so simple, no complicated forms on this site!!
•The price was fantastic, I wanted to buy from a uk based seller to avoid potential customs charges. The gin was on sale, but even at normal price it's still competitive amongst other uk sellers!!
• The bottles were in inflatable wine carriers in a really strong box, with fragile tape all over it, so no breakages!!
Overall I'm more than impressed by Basco fine foods & will definitely shop with them again! I went on a Menorca Facebook page I follow & raved about it on there so they could be facing a flurry of orders this Christmas 😉 🤶
Great customer service
I had a small problem with my order (one item missing) and called the company. Someone picked up the phone straightaway and provided a quick solution. They will deliver the missing item to me next day. The rest of the products were all well packed. Meat in cool box were still very frozen when delivered. Other items were safely packed with bubble wraps. Can’t wait to cook paella tonight using the fresh ingredients and pan ordered from Basco. Highly recommend it and definitely will buy more products from Basco in the future.
Overcharged and no refund
Products have always been good. Was overcharged but the manager called me to highlight the mistake and offer a refund or voucher. All good so far.
Even though I asked for a refund this has not been received and I have had to chase them several times. I am now being ignored and have had to open a dispute with PayPal.
Pretty pathetic for only £26 and disappointing as I won’t be using them again

Ordered two frozen Presa from Basco on priority delivery. Arrived as promised the following day exceptionally well packed and still fully frozen. Cooked the first last night which was delicious! The team was super helpful when I spoke to them to arrange the order. Will definitely be ordering more from them in the future.
Ruined a Bday present
Do you want to make a surprise for someone great? Do you have a specific date in mind when you want this surprise treat to be delivered?? Do you want this surprise NOT to be ruined? Then the answer is easy: DON'T order with BASCO.
They just ruined it for me!
When I found out at the very last minute that my new housemate was having a Bday on the next day, I decided to make him a surprise and treat him with some Turrons that he was always craving.
Not having much time on my hands, after browsing some webs with Spanish gourmet food, I found Basco with the option of a Priority delivery for the items to be delivered on the next day.
Basco's web was cheerily informing me that if I place the order within an hour+ I could benefit from the Priority delivery that would make it possible for the items to be delivered on the next day.
And that was exactly what I did! I made a payment for PRIORITY delivery on May,25 for the delicious (hopefully) turrons to be delivered on May, 26 (the date that I have chosen from the drop-down box that was available after having chosen Priority delivery).
Although I received an order placement confirmation e-mail from them, I was surprised that I didn't receive any other email with the update on the order status... Next early morning (of the 26th), I decided to write to them and ask for an update/confirmation that the order will be dispatched so I left a message via their LIVE chat service asking for a confirmation that the parcel was dispatched.
What I received in return was an email informing me that according to their system, the items are pending delivery on the 28th(!) giving me an option of shipping the items earlier for the order to be received on the 27th. If I had wanted the items to be delivered within the next few days, and not on the 26th I would have chosen a Standard delivery with a less cost.
The same email was saying "The special Spanish treats may need to be put off a day, but we hope your housemate enjoys the birthday celebrations".
Yes, he enjoyed his BDay celebration probably because he, luckily for him, didn't place an order with BASCO paying 9+ pounds for a 'Priority' delivery' only to find out that the items will be delivered on a completely random date! He could have enjoyed his Bday even more if he had received the turrons as a Bday present ON the actual day he was having his Bday.
And as I stated in my email to you, 'dear' Basco, I DON'T want the items to be delivered on Friday, 28th! I DON'T want the turrons! I WANT A FULL REFUND!

Hello food lovers. I just received my suckling pig from Basco fine foods and I couldn't be happier!!! They're sent out frozen and it still is. Exceptionally well wrapped with frozen cooling packs. I can't wait to cook and eat the little fella.

Purchased Bacalao (Spanish salted cod),it arrived without problem ,double wrapped in polythene covered tray and bubble wrap.Put it in the fridge expecting it to keep for ages.Well it didn't,it didnt even last close to its use by date of April 2021.It began to smell and aquired a pinkish reddish colour .I contacted Basco who suggested I should have used it sooner or freeze it.It sort of defeats the object of salted cod .No offer to replace or refund.

Expired Food Arrived, told me that "It is frozen food, so you should ignore the date"
Very disappointed. I bought food from them before, did not have a problem, until today. I bought a pack of wagyu burger patties from them, the official package label said it expired on 5th January. (It arrived today, today is 26th January). I immediately contacted customer service, their reply is "It is frozen food, so you should ignore the date". In what universe can you ignore the expiration date and sell it in store? None of the food supply chain or supermarket will ever do that! They still haven't offer me any refund yet, will update here if they do. But from the look of it, they refuse to be blamed for selling expired food...
Update : I have been communicating with them back and forth. But they are refusing to send a refund, even if I can send the item back in its original packaging. They are also refusing to take the blame for selling expired food. So I would highly recommend everyone to AVOID buying food from them.

My Mums side of the family are originally from Mercia and this means I can recreate some of the gorgeous recipes. Ordered ingredients for a paella and a paella cooking pan. Plus fresh chorizo it was all packed beautifully and the quality of the products is perfect. Danielle

Although delivery took a while (as it appears to be for many companies this December) I'm delighted with my pack. From Paella rice, to Pedro Ximenez, to refrigerated boquerones, and more. Brilliantly packaged with care - can't wait to order more!
Will it ever arrive
Ordered food , then got an email saying it was going to take 7 days to deliver, contacted them after 10 days as still no food, they said they were sending it the next day so I’d get it after 11 days, after 13 days I get an email saying it will be with me in a further 2 days time, so they didn’t send it the next day as promised, they sent it 2 days later. Terrible customer service 🙈
Excellent range of quality Spanish foods
I've always had a good experience with Basco. The quality of the food is beyond question - really delicious Spanish food and drink with a very deep and extensive range. I've had a couple of moments where my order either couldn't be filled in full or a delivery day couldn't be kept. On each occasion they have called me in person and explained the situation - and as customer service is paramount I found that very impressive.
Friendly, professional, great selection and all round excellent service.
Pig and croquettes
First the croquettes were soft at the sides straight away to bin the pig rack was a waste of money no meat just fat tiny ribs no meat what meat I had I've had better even the cat turned her nose up at it
Customer service
Ordered a complete fillet steak, which the web site says already frozen it came next day but was fully defrosted not frozen, as we are over 70 years old and you are not supposed to freeze something that’s been frozen and defrosted again we cooked half of the 2.6kilo fillet and froze it and gave the rest away so it could be used straight away.
I email BASCO using the contact page and also because I didn’t get a reply email them again next day asking if it had been sent fresh or frozen and what advice could they give me.
Still waiting for a reply from them some 4 days later.
Poor customer service, very disappointed that I basically wasted my money and wouldn’t recommend this company.
To be fair the beef fillet looked good and the young couple we gave half too said it tasted nice.
Update on above
Just had a reply to the review I put on their review site, they say it wasn’t frozen but fresh when sent, unfortunately their web site stated sent in a frozen state which is mis leading. They say they sent a reply to my first email but I never received it, yes I check my junk email file just in case.
So to give them the benefit of doubt I have updated my star rating as the fillet look good and the couple I gave half to said it tasted very good.
