Customer service
Ordered a complete fillet steak, which the web site says already frozen it came next day but was fully defrosted not frozen, as we are over 70 years old and you are not supposed to freeze something that’s been frozen and defrosted again we cooked half of the 2.6kilo fillet and froze it and gave the rest away so it could be used straight away.
I email BASCO using the contact page and also because I didn’t get a reply email them again next day asking if it had been sent fresh or frozen and what advice could they give me.
Still waiting for a reply from them some 4 days later.
Poor customer service, very disappointed that I basically wasted my money and wouldn’t recommend this company.
To be fair the beef fillet looked good and the young couple we gave half too said it tasted nice.
Update on above
Just had a reply to the review I put on their review site, they say it wasn’t frozen but fresh when sent, unfortunately their web site stated sent in a frozen state which is mis leading. They say they sent a reply to my first email but I never received it, yes I check my junk email file just in case.
So to give them the benefit of doubt I have updated my star rating as the fillet look good and the couple I gave half to said it tasted very good.

All my Basco orders came next day and on time. Very well packed and their communication with me was exceptional. I placed several orders with this company cannot fault the quality of their service or goods. Will buy from them again.

Poor Customer Service
Ordered a suckling pig rack and pack of chorizo in May. Once delivered the suckling pig was intended to go in the freezer for a birthday meal a few weeks later. I was given a delivery day of 27 May by both BASCO and DPD delivery company. However, on the day it was supposed to be delivered, I was contacted by DPD that due to a problem at their depot the day before, it would not be delivered until the following day the 28 May. I subsequently contacted DPD and BASCO but it was out of their control and it wasn't delivered until lunchtime the following day. The meat had defrosted, so it had ruined my birthday meal. This is the first and last time of ordering from this company.

Padron Peppers - the godfather of tapas ...
Brilliant online service for lovers of Spanish food - who sure as heck can't enjoy the stuff in situ right now. I got hooked on Padron Peppers in the south of France, where my family live, and have tried and failed to feed addiction in the NW of England, thanks to occasional and over priced supermarket supplies. Then found Basco. Whole range of Spanish eats and treats and drinks - and my beloved peppers, £2.50 a pack which, even with delivery prices factored in, is so well stuffed of peppers that it's fabulous value ... and they taste divine. Such a simple dish - flash fry to sear skins, salt, serve, a proper tapas treat. Nice company to deal with too. Prompt delivery and well wrapped and chilled en route.
