A catalogue of errors in Colorado
Baboo outsourced to South Western who were poorly organised from the start. This culminated in 1 out of 3 tours being cancelled but I was not advised of this cancellation until the evening before, no alternative was possible or offered and I ended up organising my own day (the main reason why I had booked via a travel agent was to avoid this). Post-cancellation I was then accused of not having turned up on time to the second tour which was another South Western error as they had booked us twice so the guide was waiting for 2 other people with the same names as us.... A complete farce from start to finish. If I could give no stars I would. Overpriced, badly organised and such a stressful situation.

Zoe, we are sorry that parts of your Colorado trip caused such frustration. For clarity, the initial documentation errors arose during a poor handover after the person managing the booking at our US supplier left the company. Rick worked through the details before departure, corrected the documents and reconfirmed the arrangements. During the trip, the Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods operator cancelled due to insufficient participants. Although that cancellation was outside Baboo’s control, the late communication and lack of a suitable alternative were not handled to the standard we expect.
When the supplier later relayed the incorrect claim that you had arrived late, we challenged it immediately. Their investigation confirmed that you were on time and that they had mistakenly created a duplicate booking. We remained closely involved, reconfirmed the remaining tours, secured a full refund for the cancelled activity and provided an additional goodwill payment from Baboo. We were also pleased that the remaining experiences went ahead, including the Rocky Mountain National Park tour that you described to us as outstanding.
The supplier’s handling of this booking fell well below our standards, and we have decided not to work with that team again. We genuinely regret the disappointment caused, while also wanting to reassure anyone reading that we took the matter seriously and did everything available to support you and reach a fair resolution.

I did not like that I had to wait to get important information about my trip. Although helpful in areas of transportation I found that from the beginning I should have stressed the deadlines for a plan to be presented.

Pleasant surprise
Was kind of leery about dealing completely online with a travel planner. Had some anxiety about how well transfers and excursions would be coordinated and satisfying. Everything turned just as or even better than I’d hoped. All transfers were in nice vehicles, on time and right where we needed them. Each hotel was exceptional. Every excursion, but one, was interesting and well paced. All of the tour guides were professional, knowledgeable and extremely personable.
Enjoyed the experience so much that I will likely use the company again to plan a trip to Poland.

Flawless experience in Croatia.
This is the first time we have ever used a company to help us plan a trip. We feel fortunate that our search to us to Baboo. The entire trip was based upon a short interview asking our preferences, interests, etc. As a result, the trip was flawless and perfectly suited for our style of travel. Communications with the company and local hosts was impeccable. All of the accommodations were clean, comfortable and in perfect locations. The breakfasts provided were excellent too. We had asked for some adventures like biking, sea kayaking, local tastings... All went as planned and were mainly local, family run businesses which was more intimate and helps the local economy. Croatia is an amazing place with a rich history. This trip was a great value. Pricing was very reasonable and there were no surprises. We will go back and because of this trip, we know where in the country we'd like to spend more time. It was a flawless experience start to finish. Nothing negative to say about these folks.

Living local is the way to go...
It was completely at the suggestion of the Baboo Travel team that we went to the Ragusa region in Sicily and we could not be more grateful for that. We were able to experience Italy it a way we would never have dreamed of thanks to all of their efforts. Not sure I'd use this service again
The travel experts communicated very well, but they didn't provide me with itineraries that matched well to my interests or requested destinations. It seemed as if they provided popular travel options with average local tour companies but didn't have actual local knowledge nor expertise that would have made for an excellent or customized experience. I ended up researching and booking all my own lodging and finding much better tour companies and some additional interesting options than those provided. In contrast, all the transportation services arrangements and drivers were excellent.
