I booked via discovercars for a 6am pickup from Zurich Airport. The supplier was Acarent and the pickup instructions was to go to a location at Zurich airport and call a number.

I go to the pickup location at 5:30am and started calling the number at around 5:55am and the number keeps going to their voicemail. By 6:30 am, they still weren't picking up and I also called DiscoverCars who also didnt pickup.

Because I had an appointment at 9am, the reason for booking the car for 6am, I made the decision to take a taxi (costing around 32 CHF) to acarent office but when I got there they were not opened yet.

The lady finally arrived at around 6:50am and said they don't open until 8am. That it is DiscoverCars's fault for booking me for when they were not open. She got on her system and can't find my booking. Had to call her manager and looking at the booking details on my phone.

She finally told me around 7:30am (for a 6:00am booking), I could get the car. But they don't have the type of car I booked and I needed to wait for her to manually input my bookings.

So I accepted a different car type out of desperation and left around 8am (for a 6am booking). Getting on the motorway in Zurich, the car has low tyre pressureand low screen-wash warnings (first time driving in Switzerland thanks). To cut a long story short, I had to abort my trip and return the car.

On the drop-off to the airport, I asked what time they opened and the drop-off driver said normally 6am but they just didn't today.

I raised the complaints with DiscoverCars and they raised it with AcaRent who told them and I quote "Our representative was present at the airport trying to locate the customer. However, the mobile number provided to us was not reachable, which caused the delay. This was the reason for the problem.".

So they have essentially lied to cover the first lie and DiscoverCars have accepted this (despite me providing proof of calling both companies and sending email when still at the airport).

They have also failed to address other aspects of my complaints: not having the class of car I booked and having to accept a different one with safety issues and getting the car 2 hours late from my booking time?

So this company have no issues with lying and will gladly do it.

Safe to say I wont be booking them again.

Very good experience and everything went very good.
The car was ok with cheap price.
They said that they will come to AirPort before and after car rent but in that we need little help from locals that they call to acarent but after that the car was Quickly at the airport and when we return the car they came quickly.
So everything went smoothly 👌🏻

Poco seri ! Avevo prenotato un’auto tramite enjoytravel arrivato al banco mi dicono che non possono darmi l’auto perché necessita il volo di ritorno ( cosa ne richiesta in fase di prenotazione, ne mai accaduta con altri operatori )
Da premettere che a garanzia avevano la
Carta di credito oltre l’assicurazione ulteriore pagata sempre insieme alla prenotazione
Evitate questa gentaglia !
P.s. Dimenticavo di specificare che l’evento è successo all’aereoporto di Catania

State assolutamente lontani da questa agenzia: il loro scopo è rubare denaro. Per una dubbia scheggiatura di vernice grande meno di 1 cm pretendono di sottrarre 237 euro .... una follia. Ripeto dubbia in quanto la qualità delle foto non chiarisce a pieno. Non vi fidate assolutamente.

Belle expérience avec Acarent, voiture propre, enregistrement déconcertant car pas de bureau mais tout était OK, caution et contrat de location. Rendu du véhicule sans constat de l état et la caution annulée après rappel.

Alors dès l'aéroport, Youssef ma accueillis, à vérifier avec moi le contrat de location. Il m'a également donner ses coordonnées en cas de problème ou de question. Une voiture propre et surtout sans aucun problème. Un personnel réactif et tres professionnelle.

We rented through with aca rent in switzerland and they never returned our $1,500 euro deposit. Fortunately we contacted our credit card and after a few wks the credit card company credited us the money back. The associate at the company when we returned the car started inspecting it and looked like he was trying hard to find anything on it and then he started inspecting underneath the car and found some scratches there which he blamed on us. Unfortunately when we picked up the car and took a video of it we never even thought of checking underneath the car for any scratches. He initially blamed it on us but then said he would contact insurance company to resolve it and they would still return us the deposit but they never did. Stay away from this company as who knows if they're still using that scratch to scam other customers!

Sembrava all'inizio che avessero il costo piu' basso degli altri a fronte di buone auto, ma arrivati li' ci siamo trovati di fronte all'impiegato che ossessivamente insisteva x venderci anche la garanzia furto e casco, poiche' a Catania c'era molto rischio, ma noi non le abbiamo fatte poiche' la polizza ci sarebbe costata piu' del doppio di quello che avevamo già pagato. al momento della riconsegna nemmeno abbiamo fatto in tempo a scendere dalla macchina , eravamo ancora dentro che da una distanza di metri l'addetto indicava la presenza di graffi! poi gli abbiamo fatto notare che con la polvere che toglievamo in realta' i graffi erano inesistenti. ci dice di entrare nella stanza che avrebbe parcheggiato lui e nel frattempo avrebbe controllato se fosse tutto a posto, , e dopo 5 minuti ci chiama e ci fa presente che la serratura con le chiavi non si apriva e che sicuramente c'era stato un tentativo di furto e che ci sarebbe costato euro 365! abbiamo opposto che quando la macchina ci era stata consegnata , ci avevano solo detto di aprire l'auto con telecomando e non manualmente, e che quindi non avevano le prove che la serratura fosse stata manomessa proprio durante la ns settimana, anche perchè non c'era nessun segno di manomissione, ma insistevano che dovevamo pagare altre 365 euro, che ci sarebbero state addebitate sulla carta di credito, e abbiamo fatto loro presente che se fosse accaduto li avremmo denunciati con l'avvocato, e solo dopo oltre 2 mesi ci hanno sbloccato la carta senza addebitarci l'importo, ma il risultato è stato che ci hanno rovinato il viaggio in Sicilia che aspettavano da tanto tempo!

We've been renting cars in Greece for almost 20 years now. We never had such a bad experience as with Acarent.
Last september we rented a car from Acarent on Crete with full insurance.
During our holidays we drove extremely careful and we were sure we didn't make a single scratch.
When we returned the car the girl immediately lied down on the ground, looked under the car and said she found some damage.
She showed us a picture that was probably used before with another client and she couldn't show a picture without the damage from before we rented the car.
We had to pay 75 euro's administration fee for a damage we didn't cause.
We had the strong impression that the same scratch was used for a lot of clients to make money.

CHARGED ME 5 MONTHS AFTER MY TRIP TO AMERICA.

We gave the car back with the tank filled to what it was when we collected it. Paid the toll charges when we were charged a week later. All fine.

5 MONTHS LATER I am being charged for tolls!?! and they're claiming the tank wasn't filled to what they had it at.

I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN AND WARN ANYONE ELSE TO NOT GO NEAR IT! This was booked through discovercars

Velocità e competenza. Operazioni corrette, e gentilezza. Sono venuti con l' ombrello alla macchina in quanto pioveva forte. Immediato sblocco della caparra sulla carta di credito. Molto soddisfatta

Hat alles super gepasst. Ich konnte per Whatsapp meine Zeit verlängern und problemlos das Auto am Flughafen abgegen.

Wir haben über Check24 gebucht, die Hälfte bereits bezahlt und alle Infos auf unserem Voucher gehabt. Trotzdem sollten wir vor Ort an der Station am Miami Flughafen plötzlich 250 $ mehr zahlen – angeblich, weil der Fahrer unter 25 ist (auf dem Voucher war als Grenze 22 angegeben) und weil wir nur einen deutschen Führerschein haben (EU-Führerscheine waren eigentlich akzeptiert). Die Mitarbeiter weigerten sich, Check24 zu kontaktieren, und boten uns stattdessen „großzügige“ 30 $ Rabatt auf die extra 250 $, wenn wir einfach zahlen und keinen Ärger machen. Eine Unverschämtheit! Wir haben das Auto nicht genommen und unser Geld nie zurückbekommen.

Fazit: Bloß die Finger davon lassen!

Empfehlenswerte Autovermietung für einen Trip nach Marokko! Zuerst herrschte etwas Konfusion wo man die Vermietung findet, aber wenn man weiß dass sie entweder auf dem Parkplatz vor Ort ist oder telefonisch kontaktiert werden muss, ist alles gut. Hier haben die Einheimischen weitergeholfen.
Sonst lief alles glatt, das vereinbarte Fahrzeug wurde schnell und unkompliziert übergeben, genauso unkompliziert war auch die Rückgabe, wo die Vermieter schon auf dem Parkplatz warteten und der Mietwagen schnell abgegeben war. Nettes Personal, gute Abwicklung, gerne wieder! :-)

I strongly advise everyone never to use ACARENT. I rented a car through Holiday Cars website in September, paid for additional full insurance, and then discovered in Sofia that the car was actually rented through BT Rent a Car, though ACARENT had been listed on the website. When picking up the car, they tried to push another insurance policy on us, despite our having purchased full coverage online. They then took a €500 deposit from our credit card—not just a hold, but an actual charge. When we returned the car, we were told the deposit would be refunded within 14-30 days. Our documents were stamped with BT Rent a Car. By the end, I had no idea who I was actually renting from: Holiday Cars, ACARENT, or BT Rent a Car. Two months have passed with no sign of our deposit. The company’s contact numbers, of course, are unresponsive. We’ve filed a claim with our bank, and if that doesn’t resolve the issue, we’ll proceed with the European claims procedure

Die Fahrzeugübergabe war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Auto und Mietpreis völlig in Ordnung. Bei der Rückgabe wartete der Autovermieter bereits auf dem Parkplatz, und die Abwicklung war wieder sehr freundlich und schnell. Es gibt keinen Schalter, aber man findet den Vermieter auf dem Parkplatz in Agadir oder muss unter der angegebenen Nummer anrufen. Wenn man das weiß, ist es wirklich kein Problem. Ich würde jederzeit wieder buchen
