Scam of biblical proportion! Avoid at all cost! Never again!
1. Car collected in the night, impossible to carefully check. It was super specified that it is brand new (warning!!!), no sand, water etc etc
I even washed the car before returning! Deposit 1200E!
2. At return, the lady went straight to the bumper and showed me a tiny scratch (like it was secretely known before). I honestly didn’t touch the bumper or parked close to something or drove on rough roads. With a scratch pen, will disappear in seconds. I was charged 345 E!!!
3. Moreover, my rental and out of hours fee were charged again on top of the scratch to a total of 561E!
4. The invoicing email was sent when I already passed the airport security. I called from inside the airport. At the beginning a gentleman told me to go back to office (impossible) and then claimed he suddenly can’t hear me and disconnected.
Never again Acarent under DoYouSpain! CarJet should not use them anymore and I will make this message crystal clear.

Plus d'un mois après avoir restitué la voiture à ACARENT sans aucun problème (Carrosserie, intérieur, essence OK), je reste en attente de réponse et de remboursement de ma caution de 1200€. Pas de réponse d'ACARENT et de DISCOVER CARS (par qui nous avions fait la réservation) aux mails, SMS, appels et messages... ACARENT nous a loué une poubelle de Célerio Suzuki toute cabossée, absolument pas équivalente à la Nissan micra réservée, et se permet maintenant de gérer sa trésorerie avec ma caution. J'imagine que c'est la pratique habituelle pour ces escrocs !

Arrivé chez Acarent à Tirana , le gars ragréé la réservation , demande mes papiers et me demande qu’il ne peut pas accepter ma carte alors que celle ci a été acceptée dans plus de 10 agences de locations et même celle après eux car j’ai dû annuler … il voulait que je prenne une assurance chez eux à un coût énorme , alors que j’avais pris une assurance via la plate-forme VIPCars au même moment de louer la voiture chez eux . Aux final location annulé et on a réussi à trouver ailleurs sans problème … en plus sur. Le moment même nous n’étions pas les seuls dans l’embarras … un autre couple à passer quelques billets sur le côté afin de finaliser sa réservation et un couple de jeunes eux ce sont fait exploser leur budget du à leur malhonnêteté… franchement à ÉVITER

Nous avons loué une voiture à Tivat (Montenegro). La voiture avait 230000 kils mais fonctionnait bien.
Elle avait quelques impacts et rayures que nous avons pris en photo au moment de la prise du véhicule. Malheureusement nous n'avons pu vu une rayure dans la partie basse du parechocs avant (en dessous). Le type de chez Acarent lors de la restitution du véhicule a fait un tour rapide de la voiture et s'est tout de suite arreté vers la rayure en question. Nous sommes certain de n'avoir pas abimé la voiture et que cette rayure difficile à voir était déjà là. Nous avons contesté et très vite le ton est monté. Ils étaient 2 et l'un a tapé un grand coup sur la table (limite menaçant).
Ils n'ont rien voulu savoir et nous avons du payer 150 euros. Nous avons eu le sentiment de nous être fait avoir et que leur malhoneteté était bien rodée.
Faites des photos et/ou vidéo de la voiture en regardant bien partout.

Acarent Athenes airport : Scandaleux, malhonnête...A fuir.
Nous avons loué une voiture chez eux via BSP auto. Pour faire court : prise du véhicule. L'hôtesse ne connaissait rien, pas agréable, elle a filmé le vehicule + photos avant notre départ. Pas rassurée pour autant quand nous avons vu que la caution de 1300 Euros avait été débitée alors que cela devait être juste une empreinte. Restitution du vehicule : la patronne, désagréable et surtout malhonnête regarde le vehicule cm2 par cm2. Trouve un petit choc sur l'aile arrière (qui été là lors de la prise du vehicule) et commence à nous chercher des problèmes. La malhonnête ou plutôt le système d'arnaque est bien rodé : elle a cherché des photos d'un vehicule identique avec une aile arrière sans rien. Je le signale car j'ai regardé ce qu'elle faisait. La discussion etant impossible avec ce type de personnes, nous avions notre avion à prendre...Nous avons du insister pour partir avec leur navette à l'aéroport. En rentrant, 10 jours plus tard toujours pas de caution restituee. Nous avons fait intervenir la plate-forme de resa . Nous avons été remboursés intégralement sous 8 jours. Donc la plate-forme est sérieuse mais devrait regarder de plus près leur loueur.

ACARENT Corfu is a SCAM car rental service. DO NOT RENT THROUGH THIS COMPANY. Returned the car in pristine condition- then the man felt UNDERNEATH the bumper and told me there were scratches. I couldn’t feel anything unusual. Tried to take a photo to see what he was talking about. They have kept half my Eur 1,100.00 deposit. The man said it’s no problem as I’ll get the money back on insurance. That’s not the point.

I want to share a very disappointing experience with the booking platform Acarent/BSP Auto and the rental company Lotus Parking in Greece.

🔴 Misleading information
When booking, it was clearly stated that the deposit would not be charged but only pre-authorized. However, it was actually debited. I was told it would be refunded within 4 days after returning the car… I had to wait 3 weeks.

🚗 Conditions not respected
I specifically chose BSP because it was the only company that allowed travel to the Greek islands. Yet, once there, the rental company tried to charge me extra for taking the car to the islands. I had to argue firmly before they finally dropped the fee.

🛬 No one at the airport
The supposed meeting point at the airport to get to the rental office was a mess. No one was there. I had to call twice and wait 40 minutes before someone showed up.

🛠️ Unreliable return inspection
An inspection was done when I picked up the car, but during the return, the staff member had no paperwork at all. Everything was done from memory. She pointed out a scratch on the bodywork, claiming it was new, even though she didn’t have the initial report. Fortunately, I had taken photos at pickup, which proved the scratch was already there.

🚙 Mechanical issues
The car had trouble starting from day one. No assistance was offered.

❌ Zero accountability
In case of problems—like with the deposit—BSP Auto and Lotus Parking simply blame each other. No one takes responsibility, and the customer is left stuck
I absolutely do not recommend Accarent/BSP Auto or Lotus Parking. Dishonest practices, poor service, and no support when things go wrong. Never again.

Fraud and scamming - terrible in Corfu and ACARENT not bothered and will not resolve being defrauded of 600 euros. I have since found out many customers have had the same. Shameful

ACARENT SOFIA : avoid them !!
They have never returned 500 euro deposit !!! I complained many times and no answer on the phone or email !!
I will press charges against them .
- 1 hour waiting at the airport for the shuttle to the parking lot of the car
- condition of the car unbelievably dirty outside and inside
- car with several mechanical issues (197.000 km)
- half tank full

Da wir eine Stunde Verspätung hatten war der gebuchte Wagen nicht mehr verfügbar und wir mussten ein Upgrade nehmen um 150€. Shuttle extrem mühsam. Mitarbeiter unfreundlich. Das war kein schöner Start in den Urlaub auf Kreta. Nicht zu empfehlen!

Je tiens à partager mon expérience extrêmement négative avec l’agence de location ACARENT.

À notre arrivée, il nous a été imposé un supplément en espèces obligatoire, non mentionné lors de la réservation. Tous les clients français étaient contraints de payer en cash, ce qui est une pratique honteuse et totalement abusive.

Malgré l’intervention de Discover Cars, ACARENT est resté inflexible et me réclamait 850 € supplémentaires, sous menace de ne pas me remettre le véhicule.

Heureusement, Discover Cars a réagi rapidement et m’a trouvé une solution de remplacement chez A2S, une agence sérieuse, pour seulement 120 € de plus que le prix initial. La location avec A2S s’est révélée parfaite, sans aucun problème.

Je considère donc ACARENT comme de véritables arnaqueurs et souhaite alerter les futurs clients sur ces pratiques malhonnêtes.

Upon arrival (Chania Airport) they delivered the car to me an hour and a half late because of their problems.

They initially tried to sell me an additional insurance coverage despite the fact that I had full with discovercars.com.

Upon delivery (8:30 p.m.) there was no longer enough natural light to make a timely inspection of the vehicle, which was, moreover, already damaged.

At the end of the rental they thus imputed a scratch to a rim cover that I had not done (50€).

Given the low reputation on Google and trustpilot too, it seems to me that I was not the only one who had problems.

As far as I am concerned I will not use them again and I urge you to take every precaution with them.

I trusted Aca Rent as an international brand, but after my terrible experience with their Tirana Airport branch and the way the head office in Italy handled my complaint, I must strongly warn others: do not rent with this company.

At Tirana airport we were scammed into paying €300 for a fake insurance, forced to drive with an expired car insurance (I have photos as proof), and threatened with violence when we returned the car. The employee even tore up our signed contract and shouted “I will kill you.” Luckily we recorded the discussion, so we still have evidence.

But what is even more shocking is the response from Aca Rent Italy. Instead of investigating, they simply forwarded me the version of the very same people who scammed and threatened us, ignoring completely the most serious parts of my complaint: the expired insurance, the missing Green Card, the fake extra charges, the intimidation and the death threats. This shows that the parent company is not willing to take responsibility for the behavior of its franchisees, leaving customers completely unprotected.

Renting with Aca Rent means taking a huge risk, not only because of the abusive practices of their branches, but also because the head office refuses to stand behind the customer. If you care about your safety and your rights, avoid Aca Rent everywhere.

STAY AWAY from this car rental located in Athens. The car was very old, dirty inside when we picked it up and the staff was rude and not helpful at all. They even said go to a car wash if not happy, for us it is cleaned. After drop off they delayed to unfreeze the deposit for a total 6 working days!. Definitely not recommended to anyone. Worst experience ever

I actually had a pretty good rental experience in Bulgaria. I arrived at the airport and had to call the guy to collect me as they are based in a site off of the airport. When we got there admittedly the car was quite old but it fitted all of our stuff no problem. I paid the deposit and was soon on my way. At the time of returning the car I was a bit worried as I had by this point read the reviews and was pretty sure I would get stung for some kind of damage... But I actually didn't and they returned the deposit after about 7 days. Only gripe is like I said that the car was a bit older but it did the job fine.

We kregen onze auto niet mee omdat ook de naam van mijn man op de visa-kaart staat. Nochtans staat mijn eigen naam (als chauffeur) -zoals gevraagd-volledig op de kaart . Ze erkenden ook niet de volledige verzekering die we genomen hadden bij een verzekeringsbedrijf. We hebben ter plaatse nog een verzekering moeten nemen van henzelf (van 33 euro per dag!) anders kregen we de auto niet mee (het alternatief was om 800 + 2000 euro cash ter plaatse af te geven). Zo hebben we dubbel zoveel betaald voor onze wagen als op voorhand was afgesproken in het contract.

Estafadores. Alquilamos un coche con ellos a través de una página web. Llegamos 30 mins tarde al aeropuerto de Sofia, Bulgaria para recoger el coche y nos dicen que ya lo habían alquilado. Nos conectan con otra compañía que conocens, un chico nos recoge del aeropuerto y nos alquila el coche. El día de devolver el coche en vez de devolver la fianza de 1 000 eur, la cobran otra vez. Cuando mi novio le dice, hacen la devolución del segundo cobro pero 15 mins mareando ahí con ellos. El primer depósito no nos devuelven y no cogen nuestras llamadas. Hemos ido a la policía local y hemos llamado la Embajada de España. El caso estará puesto contra estos estafadores. No alquileis coches de compañías con casetas de metal al lado del aeropuerto de Sofia, Bulgaria. Son todos estafadores. Elegid un grupo conocido y que tenga su representante en el edificio del aeropuerto.

ACA Rent Heraklion:
We were charged 570 EUR for a dent that wasn't even a scratch. Unfortunately, we took two photos of this side od the car and this part was accidentally left out. They are obviously after money, because they don't use it for repairing their cars. The car had about 15 documented previous damages. They lied to us that they repair their cars once a year. Our cars had so much previous damage that it was obvious it hadn't been repaired in years. This means that they charge for minor damage and don't use this money to repair the actual damage. To be avoided!

ACA RENT Corfu:
HANDS OFF HERE, WE WERE DENIED THE CAR WE PAID FOR!!!!
The voucher says that you will be picked up at the airport with a sign. A 45-minute delay meant that no one was there anymore. We called the rental company, who told us that we were 45 minutes late and that the car had been rented to someone else. The car was rented and paid for through Car-Jet – I'm curious to see how they respond! Now it gets weird: they would have an Opel Corsa available for us for 140 euros per day! The Toyota Aygo we had booked cost 300 euros for 7 days, and now they want almost 1,000 euros extra. This is outrageous. Extortion and fraud at a rental company! Thank you. Therefore, caution is advised, and it is better to rent elsewhere immediately

Ik had een golf geboekt bij acarent op de luchthaven in Tirana via vipcars.com. Àlles inbegrepen inclusief verzekering 257€ voor 8 dagen. Wanneer ik de auto ging ophalen werd er mij echter een extra verzekering van 320€ verplicht. Ik heb de auto dus niet genomen en op zoek moeten gaan naar een nieuwe. Opgepast dus wanneer je bij Acarent een auto wil huren!
