Asda Travel Anmeldelser 

Tried to sell foreign currency (buyback) to Asda travel money. First, I was told to visit after 10am as their system starts then. Then, I was told their system is down and asked to leave my mobile number and they would call me back when it's working. They never call me. Their rates was bad too. Finally, I sold my foreign notes to the Post office, which has a far better exchange rate and staff are more friendly and helpful.

I registered my card on the app as instructed. Once I’d done this I wasn’t able to login the app. I rang customer service to be told that they didn’t know why this was but I could login to the website. This was true but once in the website there’s not a lot you can do. I couldn’t even revel my pin. I rang customer services again and they didn’t resolve the problem. The outcome is I’m going to have to go to a an Asda branch and withdraw the money over the counter.

wouldn't touch with a barge-pole after my last trip to Spain, no atms were free of charge, i went to 5 and range charges were between 1.90euro to 7 euro in santander, every ATM i went to i cancelled my withdrawal and on one i cancelled it actually changed my credit by 300 euro, i went thru the process of removing 300 euro but after seeing the charge i cancelled and just as well i collected all receipts as it actually showed i had removed the money when i hadn't. i had to call there number to get help and got Taiwan, Singapore or somewhere similar for the call centre, that was absolute murder but was told id here from them within 1/2 days working day. Never heard a thing, called them again and they said i had to send a picture of my receipt to show i cancelled, i did this as mentioned just as well my fiance said take receipts, after calling again it was still being looked into. Long story short i got my money back after 8 days, just as well my fiance had extra money or i would have been screwed.
Never again, dont believe if they say ATMs are free and always take receipts. Going to asda today to take my money out in euros for next holiday as im not losing more money changing into sterling.
PS - They wouldn't swap my money for euros only sterling, so that wasn't worth it due to the charge they make so need to leave now for my next holiday and fingers crossed i get out with no hassle :(

Went to collect MY prepaid travel money from Asda I had my expired driving licence and was told it’s not acceptable. It was good enough to vote last week but not good enough for Asda. Thanks for the extra journey

My partner and i had travel insurance a few years back and a few hours before we were going to Malta on holiday her father passed away.
They didn't pay out because we didn't supply full medical records from her fathers doctor.
Death certificate wasn't enough and we didn't want to put her mother through anymore suffering by asking her to obtain these records.
Absolutely disgusting way to treat someone who has just lost their father.
They had the cheek a few weeks later to try and take renewal from us.

When it works its fine. HOWEVER!

It suffers from serious app and access issues which sees your account lost or inaccessible.

You will be unable to spend, top up or check balances which combined with little to no customer support. Makes for a stressful and likely holiday ruining experience.

We where lucky to have friends with us on our trip whom could lead us money. Otherwise we would have found ourselves on day two of a seven day trip with no access to our money or anyway to sort it out.

Will be unloading our money (over the phone as the app is broken) Paying back our travel buddies and closing the account.

Just use someone else, plenty of choice and avoid this known issue with the Asda money card.

you can not top the card up on the app as the advisor suggests , website only occasionally works and usually takes at least 3-5 attempts before working
Have been stuck abroad without any money as I couldn't top my card up due to a failure in there system rejecting my second top up of the day. You are only able to top the card up maximum of 2 times in 24hr period. Was waiting in the streets for over 30 on holiday waiting for assistance to only be denied!

Worst place to buy your currency gives you the absolute bottom rate plenty of better deals near by

Tried to top up the card on my App but will not go through (been trying to do this over a week). Cannot Top up online. Really disappointed with this card as the lady in store said how amazing it was and we could Top up in any country. In store rates are also different to App. Now going to find another card that will allow us to do the above. Rubbish.

Louis the branch mananger gave me a good rate and explained everything about the Dirham UAE she was very professional and honest I highly recommend you use there currency booth in Asda Thurmaston Leicester

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Asda travel money card, guaranteed to be rejected in 8 out of 10 transactions. Load of rubbish.

Cancelled my order of currency with no explanation. Had to e mail to find out they could not fulfill my order, took my money quick but still awaiting a refund. Avoid at all costs

Please introduce the options to can manage our travel money card into the app, missing the following sections, Lost/Stolen card, request replacement card or block unblock the card, all this option are very important please.
Will can manage the card from the Asda app at all.

Not great, was able to collect after 3pm today from the Norwich Store, after paying on line 2 days previously. Travelled to store to find Kiosk closed, no information available. Advised by store member that a few people had been in but unable to help and no contact details on kiosk, it is closed more than it is open.
Came home and called, only to be advised would have to refund but this wold be 3- working days, bearing in mind they had my money for 2 days already, not happy. Then said would be 1 working day but obviously nothing yet so I have to find the money to purchase currency for holiday on Sunday!!

Missed a call from “Travelex Head Office” an hour before I was due to collect currency asking me to ring them - had to look up their number on the internet as the caller didn’t leave it! Currency not available (Friday) and wouldn’t be in until Tuesday at 3pm……our flight leaves on Tuesday at 10am. Order had been placed 10 days earlier. Asked for a refund - that will take 2 to 10 working days - not only do I not have currency but I now don’t have the money (£700) to try and buy it elsewhere. I always normally use Tesco and this was the first and last time I will use Asda.

ASDA gave me notes that were out of date and were refused in the country I visited. They then refused to exchange the notes THEY HAD GIVEN ME because I told them that they were out of date. This is basically theft. .

Awful experience and this is the second time but with a different member of staff. I used them because ASDA are endorsing them by allowing g them to wear asda lanyards and using the asda name as part of their name. - asda money exchange bureau. When mistakes are made and these are too often to be accidental, asda refuses to accept responsibility and says they are a different company. The cashiers themselves give you incorrect rates after saying they’ll match the better rates in nearby money shops yet give their own and only after handing over the receipt and you notice the worst rate, they then say that mistakes can’t be rectified. Poor old people would believe they have the better rate as in both occasions the cashiers repeatedly said they’d given the better rate but hadn’t. The cashiers become rude when you ask them to rectify their rates.
