Absolute rubbish. Got a new device that I needed to login on but the mobile number they required, I no longer had, so couldn't verify my account, even though I knew my password! The info they asked for to verify was old emails I sent over 7 days ago! How are you supposed to remember that!!! No other way of helping, so I've lost both accounts due to AOL's sheer incompetence and lack of recovery system. Outdated and crap. Go elsewhere.

AOL was a reasonable email provider.
Belonging to the school of "If it ain't broke we'll change it anyway" they have completely screwed the product. I used to be able to delete sections of email with three clicks - no longer. Now you must select each one and several clicks later you get to delete.
Others have said how useless their customer relations are - I didn't know they even bothered with that service.
Good companies test their product with people who have never seen it before yet know what the service should provide. AOL clearly have never tested their useless offering with anyone.

I purchased a tv 7 months ago right from the first day I notice green lines across the screen flashing up every couple of hrs
Tried contacting Hisense support several times
Nothing back until PayPal get involved took 7 months
They asked me take a video of the fault so I’m supposed to sit infront of the tv waiting for the fault to appear
And they want it taken from different angles ( loonacy ) or is it a ploy
The staff a AOL a very polite but don’t get anything sorted
They have now told me there is nothing more they can do
So I’ve spent £400 and 7 months of aggro for a broken Tv
Despite still being under so called WARRANTY
My solicitor will be looking into this

I have only given 1 star as I cant star 0!!! Aol have nearly ruined my life ,I had to change my Microsoft email,which somehow meant I have to sign in to all my email accounts with passwords I cannot remember ,all AOL has done is send recovery numbers to emails I cannot access as I cant remember the passwords to those !!! I asked for a code to be sent to my phone number ,and the only code i received was a five digit no.,which,as it is a 7 digit no i require,is no use to me !!!.I have emailed AOL several times who insist I answer stupid questions ( a minimum of three emails sent longer than 7 days ago,with the subject line enclosed !!!,Three at least files I have personally made,my full name and address and a new email phone number to send these to !!!! I apprently send the wrong ones and they cant verify my account ,even though I started with AOL in 1999,and told them the first email address I ever had !!!! As i send very few emails ,i rarely put a subject line ,as they are usually replies to emails ,( i send texts WhatsApp, things like that .Because I cant get on my email addresses, I cannot access facebook,because having to sign in with password ,I cant remember the password and all they do is send recovery codes to ,wait for it ,my old email addresses,which I cant access because I cant remember the password and cant answer their questions sufficiently.... and it goes on .Even the banks dont provide this much aggro !!!.I dont want to set up new accounts ,and I dont want to lose pictures, records,emails etc .I have explained to them i had a sepsis related brain injury18 months ago and am still relearning numbers etc but they are impossible to deal with ,this is making me ill ! I have countless photos and other things precious to me and throw away to AOL..

Crap products bought techwood tv not even a year had several problems with it aol passed us threw to technical support they have got a clue what they are doing spent ages on several calls talking me threw how to change settings as having issues with green lines on TV...one agent said never come across before so would pass to back office and be back in touch..no call back so rang technical support again spoke to another agent I explained what had been tried already and waste of time...agent replied I know what problem is talked me threw what to do..didn't work then said its problem with Microsoft on my lads xbox x tried getting hold of Microsoft impossible...so rang argos where xbox x was bought from argos changed the xbox at my expense so add to add £40 as they didn't have like 4 like they only had one with games so new xbox x £40 out of pocket back home plugged in tv to xbox still same green lines on TV...rang technical support back explained previous agent said was my lads xbox which wasn't case and still have same issue..agent said try settings again I explained tried this several times with different agents and getting abit pissed by now then said change hdmi lead still same cut long short of it it was the hdmi port on back of TV...now they said they would repair it joke child with no TV for wk or 2 then call dropped no call back....from start to where are now I would never buy techwood stuff again rubbish product technical support are useless don't know what they are doing and never ring back...beware avoid avoid avoid

Since AOL have forced their new design on it's users it has become an absolute pain in the backside. Why mess with something that was perfectly usable by replacing it with something second rate ?

Used AOL for twenty five years and it’s been pretty much OK.
The new version is a disaster, awkward and odd to use.
Perhaps they’re trying to get people off the platform.

Just spent 3 hours with several AOL agents to change password. One actually hung up. Sorry I ever started with them. Impossible to deal with. Have to wait 24 hours before I can try again. It should be an easy process but AOL made it a terrible experience.

Literally, the worst Customer service you can expect.
I know my login details but AOL is asking me to verify that I am not a robot. It only gives me 2 options to do so, either send a message to a phone number that i don't own anymore, without giving me the option to change the number, or call their helpline and get charged for it. I am never gonna use this email again.

No one likes or wants the new version of AOL MAIL.

Once again the swine at AOL have instituted a change for the worse. They've taken what was the easiest and most fluent email system and turned it into the same GARBAGE YOU GET AT GMAIL.

horrible 1 sided news feeds, I dont need them to tell me what is news they are toooo biased for me to view any pages. whats going on in the white house?? do i have to go to bbc news to always find out . sad, its nonews here its their VIEWS here!!!

Wish I'd never started using their email (many years ago). They've unilaterally decided (without telling anyone) to limit the number of emails you can download to your device to 10,000. They then fob you off when you ask whether this is ever going to be addressed - so I can only assume that it won't be. A depressingly awful company.

They just downgraded me to a basic version. Unasked. How dare they? It doesn't even perform basic functions. This happened straight after my refusal to upgrade to some new version. Funny, that, as if I was being penalised for disobedience. I was quite happy where I was but then they gave me some elementary excuse for an email service. Aol often goes down. I absolutely hate aol but it's too cumbersome to switch.

i got on well with aol for a munber of years, no real probs~but now with the 'new' website,emails etc, its the piuts~everything jumbled in to make more spaace for ads? you cant seem to delete easily,andas its tons junk, i need to~ads galore, ugh,horrible~need i ask why a reasonable sane INBOX IS NOW VIRTUALLY UNUSABLE

Every time I am in AOL's newly redesigned inbox and delete an email, the app automatically opens the next email. It then moves each email it opens into the "Old" box, even though I haven't actually opened and perused the email.

It is an awful redesign.

Every day since AOL has redesigned the Inbox, I have had to go back into "Old" box and click on important emails that I had never looked at, or had wanted to retain in my "New" box. Please immediately correct this badly created system.

AOL is consistently putting emails in my spam folder, from sources I do business with, as well as sources that I read daily.
But even worse than this, I have now discovered that AOL is putting unread emails directly into my Trash folder. Again, these emails are from companies that I do business with, as well as from sources that I read on a regular basis.
How can any email service do such a terrible thing?
In one case for example, I was bidding on an online auction. Notifications from the auction house were going into trash without having been read. Totally absurd!

Main control panel split and steam entered the main circuit board - reported 17april took 2 weeks engineer then a further 10 weeks to sort.
Customer service no communication and sent to wrong email obviously young as thought an email would sort everything… no empathy or concern …offered a free kettle toaster or low cost appliance what a joke!!
I offered to pay the difference for a coffee machine - big NO
So if you have read this far - Do Not Buy SMEG as think they are sub standard if you go through AOL

Neuerdings fehlt im AOL-Mailaccount für PCs die Suchfunktion für einzelne Kontakte im Adressbuch - oder sie ist an irgendeine schwer zu findende Stelle verschoben worden. Daher bekommt man neuerdings nur das komplette Adressbuch angezeigt und muss sich durch die Vielzahl der Einträge durchscrollen, bis man die gewünschte Person gefunden hat. Auf meine Mailanfrage beim AOL-Support, ob es die bisherige Suchmaske tatsächlich nicht mehr gibt oder ob sie sich nur irgendwo versteckt hat, bekam ich als Antwort immer wieder nur Textbausteine, die nicht auf meine eigentliche Frage eingingen - trotz wiederholter Nachfragen. Diese vorformulierten Antwortmails enthielten Links, die entweder nicht funktionierten oder die zu allgemeinen Hilfeseiten weiterleiten, auf denen das konkrete Problem nicht behandelt wird (jedenfalls habe ich dazu nichts gefunden). Besonders absurd: Mit den Änderungen der AOL-Software will AOL laut Textbaustein „das Benutzererlebnis für Mitglieder (...) verbessern“. Leider ist das Gegenteil dabei herausgekommen, jedenfalls beim Adressbuch.
Das Problem mit der offenbar verschwundenen Kontakt-Suchmaske tritt zum Glück nur auf, wenn man sein Mailpostfach über mail.aol.com aufruft. Mit der Software „AOL-Desktop“ am PC funktioniert die Suche weiterhin.
Mit Smartphones gibt es ein weiteres Problem: Die AOL-App für Android-Smartphones zeigt mein Adressbuch mit meinen Kontakten überhaupt nicht an. Jedenfalls kann ich es nirgendwo finden, und auch auf diese Frage hat mir der AOL-Support keine Antwort gegeben. Als Notlösung habe ich mir via mail.aol.com (statt über die AOL-App) das komplette Adressbuch heruntergeladen und auf meinem Smartphone unter Downloads gespeichert. Mit Excel lässt sich das Adressbuch jetzt auch offline auf dem Smartphone öffnen, um zum Beispiel nach Adressen oder Telefonnummern von Bekannten zu suchen.
Nur eines finde ich gut bei AOL: Man hat unbegrenzten Speicherplatz, muss also nicht ständig daran denken, Mails zu löschen, damit das Postfach nicht überläuft.
