I pay every month for AOL premium technical support. So now when I need them, they fail. I can't sign in on my laptop. Second authentication says they'll send my phone a text - or WhatsApp text or call - and I don't receive any of them. AOL can't explain why or fix it. Said maybe I used second authentication too many times. Is twice a month too many times? Couldn't tell me how many was "too many", but more importantly, couldn't tell me what else I could do. Suggested trying again in 24 hours. Sounded like they had no idea how to fix it, so threw it out there. So much for paying for technical support!

Absolutely atrocious service, deleted emails don't go into trash they just vanish into thin air so can't be retrieved, and even if you try to delete a forwarded draft it just deletes the original email AS WELL so you can't even get to the original message. Never EVER get an AOL email it's just awful.

Dieses Mal und auch die vergangenen Male ist schiefgelaufen, dass man mit AOL nicht richtig arbeiten kann, es total laaaaaaangsam ist und auch manchmal keine Internetverbindung mehr hat.
Werbetrakking scheint wichtiger zu sein, als der richtige Gebrauch der Website.
Die letzten Bewertungen zu AOL hier scheinen aus Oktober 2025 zu sein, und auch ausgedünnt, sodass man meinen könnte, die Bewertungen wurden gelöscht.
Schade, war bisher immer mein Lieblings-e-mail-Anbieter.......

Never subscribed but they abuse my email for spam

I have been a 25 year AOL champion. However first they added ads at the top and the side....I asked if I paid for an address could I get rid of the ads....no! NOW, you have ads appearing all over your inbox....+ at the top and side. What next....

Quite frankly AOL Mail is a travesty. Spam filter does nothing. For every 3rd or 4th time I log in, I get security rubbish hurdles to "prove" it's me. To add to that, even though I have registered backup emergency contact details, they still try to get me to add more. Been with them over 25 years and the service has been gradually getting worse. I have never had this crap to deal with using my Gmail accounts. The only reason I still use AOL at all is because I have too many websites linked to my AOL email address.
Tip for those who like me often get the sad "prove it's me" rubbish after entering their user name - quickly refresh the page and 9 times out of 10 it will accept your next attempt at entering your password. If not, come back after after 15 mins and try again - this security rubbish seems to be on some kind of ongoing repeat cycle.

Recently, I tried to sign into my email. Aol refused to sign me in, demanding I turn on Java Script. (It was turned on.) When I called its customer service helpline, the service rep demanded I pay her to help me access my email. I'm not going to pay Aol when it was clearly their fault that I was locked out of my email.

SCAMMERS!!! My elderly mother has had same email for TWENTY YEARS. Suddenly, it asked her to verify and send a code to a phone number she hasn't had in 10 years. She has also been married during that time a few times in last 20yr. So she call and they tell her they won't help her unless she pays a fee. They refused to tell her the fee until she recover her account. She was married when set up the account and said it is either Name1 or Name2 because I was married back then. They told her unless she pays money the is nothing they will do.

If you're looking for more spam, scam, trash, junk, g188eri5h and phishing emails, than actual genuine emails then I highly recommend AOL
It's worth taking the time to migrate EVERYTHING to a proper email service that actually has working spam controls. This shower of **** doesn't deserve a single star.

I used my AOL to create an account on the Bitci Stack Asset platform. After several months of investing. I ran into an issue where I couldn't receive the verification code from AOL mail to complete a transaction. I contacted the the Bitci support team, and they responded and helped me resolve the issue by changing my email address.

After that, I was able to complete the transaction successfully. Overall AOL has been extremely slow, full of ads.

Gradually, they are chipping away from previously good service! I deleted some emails but they keep reappearing, try to open incoming email, and it takes mega seconds instead of milli seconds!

Where you store information on the left hand side, this section is now miniature whereas on the right side the page is huge, this in unnecessary, they are cornering us to pay for their service but not sure if we shall get good service if we pay! If you need customer service and call the 800 number posted for assistance you are advised that for that kind of assistance, it doesn't matter what you have asked assistance for you will need to pay for paid assistance. If you want free assistance you are told it's only offered online and when you go online you receive a vague unhelpful answer and advised to try the paid assistance program. AOL seems to have become very political and if you post a comment that does not agree with their politics your comment will be rejected or your ability to comment will be suspended or your account closed so no freedom of speech. AOL is now owned by an Italian company called Bending Spoons. Gmail is a much better choice.

AOL offers mail filters but they do not work, nor does AO{ respond to requests to address the issues. I get hundreds of spam from Aol all of which i have directed to "trash" but none go there. Occasionally a legit email goes to spam so I have to look through them.
Also there are mor phishing emails getting through to regular mail.
Class action suit ?

A bit archaic in functionality and customer support is nonextistent. All in all, it's served it's purpose but virtually every other platform leaves AOL in the dust

I had a fridge delivered on 10th of January around midday, and I am extremely disappointed with how my home was left afterwards.

The delivery men lifted the metal strip between my carpet and tiled floor and left it loose and sticking up instead of putting it back properly. This has been left for me to deal with, even though I am not able to fix things like this myself, and it is now a trip hazard in my home.

While they were removing the old fridge, I simply asked if I could sweep behind it first so the area was clean. One of the men took the broom from me and did it himself. I found this quite upsetting and unnecessary.

They also removed my stair gate, which I didn’t mind, but it was then left taken apart on the floor. I was left with heavy pieces that I cannot lift or put back together on my own.

After the fridge was installed, I later noticed that the skirting board next to the fridge had been damaged, which clearly happened during the delivery. I was left feeling very upset by the whole experience.

I expected a professional service, especially as I am an older customer, but instead I was left with damage to my home and things I physically cannot fix. This was not the standard of care I would expect, and I would not want anyone else to go through the same experience.

i have had AOL since the beginning-back in the days where you had a buddy list and chat rooms-i used to love it but noticed since i changed my views politically in 2016-i have to keep editing my comments on articles until AOL thinks they're o.k. so now i don't even read the articles anymore-just check my e-mail and OUT

Resetting the password is horrid. I got an AOL address in 1996.it was great for a while. Now it is not.

Literally the worse customer service and company now! I've been a member with aol since I was 8!!!! I got locked out of my account called their call center based in India and some where else, to deal with sparky remarks and attitudes!! They also make you buy their "premium membership" which is a joke and considering this is what you have to deal with along with still not being able to get in my email, they will ho under sooner than later!!!! Absolutely ridiculous!

I have had AOL mail for over 20 years and in general I have been satisfied until recently. With recent changes AOL has been extremely slow, full of ads and spam. To simply login now I am contronted with five different screens (with ads) prior to finally being able to access my account. I have used numerous other email products and until recently, I did not find any advantages over AOL but I think it may be time to reconsider a new option.

Pathetic company. Even if you comment on their pages the word HAHAHAHA they won't allow it. Owned and managed by chicken Willie's cowards. Poor provider that is frightened of its own shadow. Plus their news is 24 hours behind everyone else.
